yizhi521 of our 2005 Boards and has posted over 30 new images of the upcoming Transformers Seaspray figure that will be released later this year as part of the rebranded Transformers line. A cross-sell on the package reveals a new Autobot Ratchet repaint, called Night Ops Ratchet, while Seaspray's bio hints that there will be a Decepticon figure called Crankstart. I think I'm going to have to comment on the most interesting thing about this package...

Seaspray is in ROBOT MODE in-package.
cleazer:
More of that gold packaging. Thanks for the pic!
ThaConqueror:
So now Seaspray is Sea Spray...I guess that's what happens when you don't use a name for 25 years. Still...WANT.
a person:
Hmmm... I'm not sure if I like Sea Spray. Far too chunky for my liking. I don't understand why some folks were complaining about him looking like a movie toy.
hupla:
So how does this look movie like?
bumblebot98:
I like the look of Seaspray,I Might just wait for a review first.
S250:
for me,a typical Universe/Classics 2.0 Voyager/Ultra class design.
BlackMegatron:
Thanks for the pic S250!
Sea Sprey looks quite good...
process:
Ehhhhh.
DazzalingFury:
Neat
S250:
any idea what BAY on his chest?not Michael.
Trikeboy:
Looks good but I think I will wait for the TakaraTomy version in correct colours.
Grimwing:
Dig the interactivity between figures the design team is gunning for this year.

Seaspray being a scout transport sounds really interesting.
rikkuluverx2:
Looks cool, but its not for me.

Can't wait to get my hands on deluxe ironhide and the new bruticus though!
FartRipper67:
Neat-o. I really dig the packaging for some reason...

Far better than Autobot Seaspray. (Though I'll admit, throwing Autobot and Decepticon in front of names like Hound or Ratchet or whoever is a lot better than not using those old names at all.)

And for the record, it hasn't quite been 25 years. The G2 Seaspray released in 1993 (?) was all one word.
Optimus Sledge:
Eeeeeeeexcellent.
WhiteMocha:
Kinda simple-looking (perhaps deceptively so?), but I like it. It almost has a Unicron Trilogy vibe to it, with the big blocky thighs and arms.

Although honestly, this guy may have to stay in vehicle mode anyway on my shelf. The idea of loading him up with scouts or legends just sounds too fun.

Compare the style of the hands to the likes of ROTF Dirge, voyager Movie Prime, and 07 Movie Wreckage. Then from the flyer picture that showed the whole body, the feet seem to have that weird tiny-ankle/clunky hoof look so many movie designs use.

Also, since we've yet to see the head clearly, that's up in the air as well.

Nah his fingers dont look claw like enough to be really movie like, Animated BA had more movie like hands in that regard. I'll give you the feet though, didn't notice until you pointed them out

Your theory on Twitter seems sound (that it's possibly one in the Rhode Island area).

Not sure which one it would be though. As there's several.
BigRC83:
Not as bad as the movie toys but not as good as the Classic line. I do not know how to judge this. Maybe I'll have an opinion of it after a video review.
Primus_feather:
I like, Throws a lot of recent themes into one package- Movie(detail), Classic/Universe(character), Animated(proportions).

Overall I'd give him a solid WIN!

Although he does look mighty Prime for Sea Spray, with the Scout sized "trailer" and transforming "cab"... That's it he just became Seamus Prime
...hmm... Sprayimus Prime?...

Slag it
POSEIDON PRIME!!!
Cybertron Ax:
EPIC I must have it!
MaxLinden:
Welcome back SeaSpray!
I just hope you don't talk how you always do in G1.
TCracker:
Do want...bring it!
kraven:
I really like the alt mode.
blumpy2000:
Well to be honest, now that we can a better pic than the last one, I'm a little more optimistic than previously. It still doesn't fufill the excitement I had from when I first heard about him. Also I'm still getting a movie vibe from him. As was mentioned, the hands look movie to me and there's something about the overall figure which I can't put my finger on.

A few things I note... It looks as though his trandformations is pretty simple. That's not necessarily good or bad, they're are plenty of voyager or utra figures that have simple transformations that I still like, yet there are some with more intricate ones that I still like. Regardless of simplistic transformation or not, his chest looks waaaay too plain for me.

The other thing I note is that for a figure as large as he may be, his elbows are pretty tiny, which make me a little concerned. Small joints on large figures make me nervous.

Other than that, I'm still excited to see a review.

Oh, I hope he does!!!

looks like a universe line but it also looks like a deluxe

Photoshop helps a tiny bit. Still can't tell. Snake Bay?
If the shapes of the letters are unreliable we might just have to go with the number of letters. Tampa Bay? Green Bay?

TCJJ:
It looks cool, but I'm not digging the white, and the head looks like it has a ski mask. That's lame. It could be a scuba mask, but still....

Other than that, he looks extremely short, very bulky, and WAY too simplistic. Like Universe Silverbolt - nice to have it, but overall, not that great.

Personally, I want this to be the best Ultra yet. I want to see it top Onslaught. That said, I'd be surprised if it tops Powerglide. I don't think it'll have trouble beating Silverbolt, but only time will tell.

EDIT: Whoops, my mistake. I didn't see "Voyager" before. Of course, it was originally claimed to be an Ultra. Obviously that must be wrong. I should have read more carefully. Still, I doubt this will be better than Inferno.

is that make sense?just googled it,an Australia location
Quantum_Penguin:
Pretty much what I was hoping for. I didn't really have a high expectation of accuracy to the original minibot since that was pretty abstract to start with.

It looks like the open hands are here to stay, I just hope they continue to integrate the 5mm holes like they have on WfC Bumblebee, and way back with movie Wreckage. One of the things that's bugged me with recent lines is the lack of useful hands.

And, judging from the proportions, he's not a weakling in robot mode anymore. Must have started eating his spinach.
Omnius:
Consider my interest piqued - I'm getting a Cybertron vibe from him.
Mechafire:
That actually looks a lot better.
Rodimus Mike:
Hey look yall,I see very little movie aesthetics to seaspray, almost block-ish just like good
ole seaspray.I know others will disagree but I think he is.

Yeah, it really doesn't look THAT movie styled to me.
Hiro Prime:
Cool, I'll be adding him to my collection when they get around to releasing him. There is one thing, however, that is bugging me about the packaging, I really prefer the toys to be packaged in Alt mode. It usually makes the packaging more compact, and I prefer the box art of the robot mode. Even if it's just a head shot.
bumblebot98:
I think he looks kinda like what an Animated Seaspray would look like.
unicronsupreme:
I'll go ahead and be a naysayer.

NAY!
Stormcrow:
Bah. Alt mode looks cool, but the bot mode earns a big "BOOO".
Doesnt do a thing for me.

it would do him a world of good to get that taktomy treatment .. cyclonus hound, astrotrain, and smokescreen all looked better japanasized ..I excluded powerglide and silverbolt because even correct paint couldnt cover up the lame that those figs are
Pravus Prime:
I like it. I'm wondering who/what the inevitable repaint is going to be.

Oh, and the idea of getting Sea Spray, then putting Shortround, Storm Surge, G1 Seaspray all on his deck makes me smile.
Sammael:
Waiting for the inevitable TakaraTomy G1 color scheme. The Hasbro color scheme does nothing for me.
RayH:
It's kinda growing on me a bit from the previous pic. If the gold was just yellow, I'd be all over it. I'd have to see it in some comparison shots with classics stuff before i'm for sure.
Grimwing:
Just noticed he has two spring loaded missile launchers that attach to the sides in boat mode. You can kind of see them in the vehicle art. But if you check below the figures arm in package on the left you can see the blue missile for yourself. Its pretty wide.

Sweet that he has weapons.
Feralstorm:
Looks pretty neat to me so far. Surprisingly few people going "OMFG HEAD AM NOT YELLOWS!!" in-thread as of yet.
shroobmaster:
This ain't no G1 Seaspray, is is BETTER Seaspray! MFer looks badass.
