Well, all the chrome and extra paint apps. Basically it's Premium Prime but better.
MEGATR0N:
I need that for my collection.

Beautiful! I may get past the issue with the bunny ears.
tikgnat:
I want one, but can't justify forking out on a Prime that should have come out in the first place. Fail.
catch22:
Hasbro's Premium Prime doesn't even compare to this. Just wish I could afford it...
Autobot 47:
Yeah like it too - still needs to be pimped with the additional decals and replacment sword, which is still better than the exacto knifw here. But I'm outta this... budgetwise.
Runamuck:
I was looking at the one of the pictures, and it would seem he still has the yellow lights inside. Why, oh why, after everything badass they did on this, could they not put in blue lights? Argh!
Cheebs:
See, Hasbro? Vac metalized plastic does not sneak into your room at night and murder you while you sleep. Nor does the world end when you put it on a Transformer.
Furthermore, notice how these pictures illustrate that neither gray plastic nor silver paint mimic chrome in any way. Takin' a good look there, Hasbro? Seeing as how 50 cent drugstore toys are loaded to the gills with vac metalized plastic, I'm sure it's not expensive. GIVE IT TO US!
Hot rods and trucks and sports cars have chrome. They look wrong without chrome.
Once y'all learn this lesson, we'll work on your nasty habit of insisting that cars have blue/orange/red tinted windows.
Chantinelle:
While not a fan of the film designs, I have to hold my hands up and say that right there is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring Transformers ever committed to plastic. If I were still buying them, I'd get that like a shot, price be damned.

I would have preferred blue LEDs too, but from my understanding they are more expensive. Have we ever gotten a blue Light in a Transformer? I don't think we have. I remember in like 1995 (or around then) the light up lightsaber Ben Kenobi's lightsaber lit up yellow/green because the cost of a blue LED wasn't justifiable for the figure. Granted it might have been for a larger figure like Optimus, but then he probably has two or three inside of him.

David Hingtgen:
Blue LED's still cost more than other colors, but the difference has become rather negligible--especially on a toy that costs that much. I mean, you get blue LED's in light-up spoons inside cereal now. (You just find a lot fewer of them---they'll put in 1 blue for every 5 green or red)

More expensive? Why is that so? How does blue cost more than yellow? They're both just
colors....why is one more special than the other?
Greyryder:
It requires different materials inside the LED to get that color of light. The color of the plastic around the metal bits inside just tweaks the color. I've got some LEDs that are made of untinted clear plastic, but they light up a vivid green. Blue and white LEDs are much newer technology, and still more expensive.

After viewing more pictures of Hasbro's version I may have changed my mind.
There are actually parts on both versions that I like. I like the gold shoulders on Hasbro's version because it makes Premium Optimus Prime more distinguishable with the regular Optimus prime. The chromed shoulder flaps look great on Hasbro's version.
The silver paint applications on the head of Takara's Premium Optimus Prime really give the figure a cleaner look, and yeah the sword looks far better too.

Chromed shoulder flaps? Hasbro's version has no chrome at all.
RHALX:
Just got mine now! I like it a lot, and the silver look probably rocks in truck mode! (I haven't checked it yet). The new premium paint app on the upper part of the legs is not that useful though, it nearly doesn't make any difference when I compare this optimus with the original non premium version.
One more thing, the blade painting is absolutely awful. I mean, the color is great, but it looks half finished.
Anyway, some bad quality phone pics...

^ That looks so sweet. I just got my notification from BBTS, so mine should be here shortly. I can't wait.
G1Wheeljack:
Looks awesome, but I already have the original and I don't like the new head mold that much.
