After being teased many times with blurry pictures, we are proud to present four clear images of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave in robot mode! These images finally give a good idea of what Soundwave will look like, including a clear look at Soundwave's head and the back of the robot mode!

Oh, and the new pics do him justice... i can so totally see and ACCEPT this design as Soundwave! Its about dammed time we get a decent toy outta the ol' knucklehead.

IMO this is a good balance between revamping the looks of bots for the movie style and also throwing in the odd G1 look for the old school fans.
p.s. why bother calling it soundwave?? why does J.J abrams not just make up a whole new crew and stick em on kirks enterprise.. people would be pissed, its called a new angle. deal with it people | Me I'll be happy when the franchise is handed off to a new director and a new artist.
Comparing it to Star Trek, oh come on at least you can look at Spock and go hey that's Mr Spock. While I'm not loving the look of the Enterprise at least they didn't totally redesign it completly with useless pointy bits. And hey while they might have ramped up the action to fit the current line of film making at least the trailer had a Star Trek feel to it unlike the Transformers movie.

Not my cup of tea, but that doesn't mean it's horrible. If it's as well engineered as the toys from the movies, it will tempt me, but I've only got so much money these days.
Should be fun to see how it translates to the big screen. I'm hoping they vary up the colors a little more on the characters this time around to give them more pop on the screen and make it slightly easier to differentiate between various bots/cons and their appendages. If the colors hold in the film from this toy they may be moving in that direction...

I think this is a deluxe though, still digging the head. Still wants to see the earth mode bad, hopefully it will be a voyager, or leader class.

I read some of the posts on this thread ... let's just say it felt as if all of TFW2005 had traveled to the past ... to late '06, early '07. 
I thought we were past that.
As preview figures goes - which is what I think this is - Soundwave looks pretty nice.

I dunno how keen your sight is but transformers in general in each generation tend to have similar looks, they are a "species" or whatever ya wanna call them, humans all have a similar look eyes ears an what have you, soundwaves head has similarities to primes wit the faceplate hell even seaspray has one, the coneheads all have coneheads for gods sake, the fact they look like each other is good, they not just random robots, they are all related in a way like aliens from another planet an actual race not just random robots | honestly?
