| More High Resolution Images of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave |

These new images demonstrate the different permutations of the alternate mode, as well as showing the robot mode in some different posts, and to top it all off, Soundwave's missile is also shown (speculation abound that the missile may in fact be Soundwave's companion / minion, Ravage).

Now all we need is a lazerbeak figure for the earthmode. Heck I wouldn't even mind it being based off of his armada mold

Ok Seriously...WTF is with those damn spider like appendages on soundwave's elbows?
I mean are they really necessary in either mode? Other than that I really like the cybertronian satellite concept...minus the spider leg things. Love the Robot mode, the head is great and the colors are sweet.
In the movie if this is shown I imagine anything that's yellow will be a very nice metallic gold as well as a high quality silver color for the rest with a topaz blue for the orbs.
THIS make's me want to just wait for the premium version.

After some initial misgivings I'm starting to really like this figure. The satellite mode in these pics looks a lot better.
I'm still pretty sure this is his first mode, and he'll later turn into a truck. You can see the grill and headlights on his stomach and all.
And good find on the missile being ravage. I'll bet you're right. He'll probably pull a Blackout and launch that sucker to do some recon/killing.

I would imagine they [Hasbro] would put that sort of attention on the Earth mode, which is speculated by many to be a voyager.
I will be getting the Earth Mode up front, I need at least one version of this guy early on.

Is anybody really excited about this toy? It has so little to do with soundwave. The head is a vague aproximation, and just looks silly to me. The colors are ugly and I have yet to see anything that looks like a satelite...
Just big time ugly and lame. Much rather buy universe classics and animated and G1 toys if this is a sign of the TF2 toys...

Please let Devastator be awesome... :-/ | Yeah, I'm excited. It's Soundwave's Cybertronian form. The head is one of the most G1-accurate Soundwave heads we've gotten since G1 (along with Music Label and Titanium Soundwave). The colors are similar to Protoform Optimus Prime's, with more G1-Soundwave-esque touches of red, gold, and dark blue. It just foreshadows the awesomeness that will be Earth mode Soundwave.
I can't wait to get this toy, it's cool for a preview figure.

Is it purely to add some insect like aesthetic to remain consistent with the other insect looking decepticon movie designs?
It's not a big deal, really, but I am curious. I'm thinking the Earth Mode may be devoid of these appendages so it must have something to do with the Cybertron satellite alt. mode.
Any ideas?

Prime, Ratchet and concept bee were great. I actually liked both cybertronian mode preview figures for the first movie better than soundwave. This just looks major weird to me..
I hope devastator is more along the lines of the Prime and ratchet toys. But that's just my opinion. I'm just surprised that people are pumped for this. It just looks kind of bleh to me.

I think this design is brilliant. An orbital weapon delivery system as an alt mode? Genius! This makes perfect sense for Soundwave. He can sit in orbit and intercept cellphone/internet signals and deploy Ravage etc. anywhere on earth. The only reason he'd need a robot form would be for combat, since he'd be a sitting duck in the sky. The whole cassette thing was always really lame. Since the movie transformers don't require ships for interplanetary travel, it makes sense that he could also launch himself back into space as needed.

And of course they can't do cassettes in a 2009 movie. I'm just not nuts about his body proportions and general design. Yes they made the face look similar to G1, but this toy aint doing it for me. More on the shelves for you guys. : )
I am however excited to see it in the movie - and it would be cool to see him launch ravage/laserbeak type minions from space.
I wonder if he'll be a triple changer in the movie...

I can't wait to see what he looks like in the movie. This figure looks a lot like Megatron's figures, and they didn't look terribly cool, but in the movie Megatron looked super bad-ass.
Soundwave will hopefully be super bad-ass as well in the movie.
