 | | | Image Of New Movie Optimus Prime Toy With "Mech Alive" Gimmick | | Posted on 01-01-2009 at 10:25 PM by Cataclizm1 | | An image has surfaced of a new Leader class Optimus Prime toy for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. The image indicates the new gimmick for the movie line will be called "Mech Alive," with moving armor panels. This appears to be similar to the "Automorph" technology that accompanied the first movie toy line. Additionally, the Optimus Prime toy will reportedly include double snap out energy swords, speech, light up eyes and chest, and engine revving sounds. it's just the same character.
and if you already have one of his toys from the first movie.
Then you don't really need to get this one.

I honestly thought they did a better than okay job the first time around, but if they've topped it, I might just be amazed. Fit For natalie: Quote:

Besides, Hasbro aren't the evil toy making money grubbers you might think they are. Roberto Orci said on this very forum that some at Hasbro argued against changing returning characters' designs so parents wouldn't have to buy their kids (essentially) the same toy again just because something has been changed. Repaints from other lines in Universe, for example, are generally to be sold to people who never owned those molds before. Your choice if you decide to spend money on the repaint.
Katamari Prime:
Well, If this Prime, Soundwave, and the the two deluxes are any indication, our wallets may be hurting this year.
VampireNekoBoy:
Wow that prime looks godly from that little bit, I wana see the whole thing.
OMEGAPRIME1983:
2 deluxes??? The only one I remember seeing so far has been the BB retool. Who would the other be? Quote:

Damns yous Hasbro, Damns yous for taking more of my money. I thought I would be done with the movie line except with a few here and there. but no you find a way ...you always do. Automorpher:
Mm..I need more pics to convince myself & my wallet.
Correction: Wallet part to be advised again because we wouldn't know if there's a Premium version intended later on. zeroXII: Quote:

Hound & Mirage:
Sounds like the sort of exclamatory colloquialism you'd hear on Cybertron.
"Gadzooks!"
"Zounds!"
"Egad!"
"Great Caesers Ghost!"
"Land sakes!"
"Jumpin' Jehosaphat!"
"As I Live And Breathe!"
"Mech Alive!"
"Hell's Bells!"
"Criminey!"

We've only seen one picture of Wreckage's vehicle mode so dunno if its legit or not.
Icespark:
I'm kind of hoping that Wreckage repaint will be an Autobot. They could use a few more military vehicles.
shibamura_prime:
"Mech Alive," huh? Sounds like a bad Anime. Or a good one...
Anyhoo, can't wait to get my hands on a new leader Prime. :3
megatronkicksas: BAM slapintheface
Thank god I didn't spend 40 bucks on a repaint.
Also mech alive? It sounds like a bad japanese dub.
YipNipples:
What's with all this keeping secrets/teasing shit?

I might get myself another Prime.
Ouch, the wallet.
Feralstorm:
Mecha Mech Alive Mecha Hidey Ho.
Your wish for a new Movie Prime toy is granted - long live Jomby.
Heat Guy:
What ever scale that Prime is, I need it.

Paxtin:
Anyone else think "Mech Alive" sounds like something G1 Ironhide would say?
"Mech alive, Prime! Those Decepti-creeps sure do burn my tailpipe."
Any who...
Sounds intereting. From my best guess, it's bassically a more advanced version of how leader-class Prime's chest opened up, and head popped out.
Could be neat, or could be realy cheesy. We'll just have to wait and see.
OMEGAPRIME1983:
I'm very curious to how much more accurate this toy is to the CG model than the previous figure was. Some kibble is inevitible, but I'm really hoping that he's a lot more stream lined kind of like the voyager version of movie 1 prime was.

If people are concerned with their jobs then why are they taking photographs of the box at all?
GenZhao:
sounds good
cant wait to check one out
Zress Tayasu:
I wouldn't be suprised if s250 was on has/tak's payroll, as a "hype generation agent" or something similarly silly. LightningZERO:
Wow, the new Optimus Prime looks badass!
Rodimus Mike:
Has anyone noticed that this looks like a totally new mold of Prime, like his window
visors are slightly slanted, and he has a more rounded stomach, and of course no
chest windows. Also check out the pipes near Primes head. I think this may be a
new mold for him, correct me if I'm wrong tho.
Buzzer-Bot:
Sounds ok,but I need to see more pictures of it.
Fit For natalie:
Yeah, it's all-new.

The pictures and the little leaks are all part of a marketing strategy. Hasbro is well aware of fans like us and lets out an image or two to get us reved up for the next figure line. June 2nd of 2007 was when the first line of movie figures hit stores and it was a mad house. I can also tell that all the people buying them were collectors or scalpers.
If you think about it it is smart for Hasbro to do this because commercials (for toys like this) are a dying breed. Plus what little kids have $40 to spend on a Transformer or a parent willing to spend that on their kids. Us fans will buy these hell we may buy more than one of the same character. These images are leaked on purpose, and it works. You know how I know...
If this new Prime figure looks as good as it does in that picture...I want one!
VampireNekoBoy:
This little picture is amazing, It looks like its more acurate, I hope the little gas cylinders will be Xed on his back, that would be kick ass lol. I hope to see Megatron and the other soon, along with the full pic of this guy!
Mr.E57:
It looks awsome.
I hope Hasbro is willing to make a new Starscream like this, with hands of course
Shin Densetsu: Quote: |

| Oh God, if anyone was the most deserving of a new figure after Prime, it was definitely Starscream! No kibble, bigger sizeclass, sleeker, more accurate/proportionate to the F-22, oh man...need new Starscream!
Starscreamer95:
Must... have... Prime! dark69:
mmm need to see more
Starscream1201:
Awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amph:
Every ROTF figure I see makes me more and more excited for the line. Just by looking at Prime's head area intrigues me.
Yet again, I'm a movie line completist...

Hasbro must to make a new Starscream, and it must have HANDS
Julliant:
New mold and new gimmicks sounds really, really good, but whoever came up with 'Mech Alive' needs to be hit on the head, hard.

Supposedly there are pics of the back of the packaging in full(showing all the bot mode & alt mode) on tf08.net but only in the VIP Section. Either way it sucks that we're going to have to wait to see them.
