Wow, an update from iGear? They went made crazy with almost daily updates for awhile and then almost nothing for a few months.
I have to say, this IS a great update. The prototype looks a little rough still, but only because the orange color looks a bit off. It looks too plastic'y. I realize it is plastic and all, but it doesn't need to look like plastic.
Based on how big Optimus is there, I am starting to think this set might be a perfect fit end to end on my display shelf. I can't even fully explain how awesome that would be if it was.
Glad to see they are progressing on one of their original projects. Probably the most ambitious one too.

Form-wise, that set looks nice and complete, but I wish they kept the glossy finish that we saw in earlier photos. Someone in Radicons could make that set look boss.
More importantly, where is my damn Magnus hammer?

Yes. A bit too bright orange. I hope the final product looks more like the on in the pic of Optimus looking at the small Soundwave on the floor.
And, well, Soundwave will not be orange too, right? RIGHT???

This was a must-buy when I first saw it.
Somewhere along the 6 months of development, though, I think I just cooled to the idea of shelling out $45 for a pair of hammers. The rest of it is not that interesting, since FansProject has a $12 kit coming out with better missiles and a better gun.

Wow, they actually made the hammer! I was pretty sure this thing was going to get cancelled. Looks pretty good. The transparent blue is nice, as is the ability to dual wield. Not so sure about the green "flag" though. A molded plastic flag looks cool and all, but I think maybe I might have preferred a cloth flag.
Price is steep though, considering the CC upgrade parts are a set-aside.

I like the set alot but the price is way to high the Fans project add on set is only 12 bucks. That means your paying 45 bucks for just the flag, the hammer, and the head. Compared to the Gears of wars set that is overpriced in my book

The head looks pretty good, probably my favorite one so far actually. Gun should be white, flag is not appealing to me and the hammer doesn't really hit any cords either. Missile launchers are decent but the price is too high for me to even consider

Love it. The head is the only thing that I'm not liking. The sword and Magnus Hammer are the two main reasons I'm buying this. Very very nice IMPO. It is a bit expensive, but so was the TAW God Sword and if I can shell out for that I've got no problems buying this.

Meh. The magnus hammer does not go with city commander at all. The head is dull, and the missiles look no where near as good as the FP add-on versions.
I kind of wish these people would stop with the G1 Magnus heads, already. They never fit with the City Commander aesthetic. It looks almost as bad as when people try putting a traditional TF head on a movieverse body. It just doesn't work.

I don't think I'll ever be buying any iGear products. Nothing they've made has impressed me. The hammer's the only thing that looks somewhat good. The head, sword and gun are an insult to the awesomeness that is City Commander, especially if you get the Fansproject add ons that are a million times better.

It's nice to see the 007 set nearing completion. That's probably the best and most imaginative thing iGear has come up with... it's something no one else is even attempting, and major kudos will be awarded once it comes out.
The Magnus set, however....
Let's be honest. They missed the boat. They missed the boat so hard that it actually came around for another run and they missed it AGAIN. They proposed this back when the Commander armor first came out, and at the time, people were excited about it. G1-esque gun? Awesome! G1 missile launchers? Awesome! Hammer? Awesome! G1-esque head? Awesome!
But then City Commander came and went. And so did Shadow Commander. And Powered Commander. And STILL this set remained in development. Several awful replacements heads soured us all on the idea of a replacement head for City Commander. We learned to love the head they gave us. Then Fansproject decided to re-issue City Commander with several upgrades, including shoulder launchers far superior to the puny ones in this set (And which mounts on the trailer mode), a gun that transforms to work with either the armored or unarmored robot (And holsters nicely on the shin), and several alternate faces. And in their wisdom, they decided to offer the upgrades themselves separately for around $10.
And still this upgrade set isn't out! And at $60, the value just isn't there. The head won't interest most anymore, the shoulder launchers are obsolete, the flag is 'meh'... so the only selling points are the gun and the hammer. Which, while cool, aren't $60 cool. This set has less value than the Another War sword, and at the same price point.
At this point, they might as well go back to the drawing board on it. Or just scrap it and focus on the Ark set.

Anyone know if the current Ark photos include all the floor panels? The earlier concept pics appeared to have more floor space. The current pics look to be somewhat tight quarters.

Yea, needs a little tweaking, and the autobot logo over Teletraan 1, and yep little short on floor panels ( one more layer seen in previous pics). Still gonna get it though, even if it just has the one set of floor panels it will work well as a display for my wst and ths-02.
