Combined mode for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Legends Optimus Prime and Jetfire GATTI
A trio of new images have been posted on TF08.net showing the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Legends Class Optimus Prime and Jetfire in a combined form. The combination has Jetfire attach to the back of Optimus Prime to provide a flight mode of sorts. Is this the combined mode of Optimus and Jetfire that was suggested some time ago or a cool additional play feature? Watch this space for further updates!

I wonder if you could stow Prime's arms and unfurl Jetfire's legs to act as arms, though.
Agreed about the coolness of combining legends, and as to your second point, I'm thinking it has to be something like that.
blackconvoy_D01:
at first i thought - this combination is stupid. but then i remember how prime was tossed around by megs, and realized that he could use the power up w/ the jetfire combo. good thinking lads.

Meh, I really don't care all that much for straping Jetfire the Blackbird onto Prime's back. I personaly like Armada Optimsu and Jetfire's combined form better, but I grew up on Armada.
samtastic:
Not bad for a legends class.

Although it does look EXTREMELY phallic. Not sure what kind of "Toy" this is supposed to be.. : /
cobra zartan:
Joe1:
Wow, that looks horrible. it's just a robot with a jet on the back.

And isn't Jetfire supposed 2 b a decepticon?

If so then y r optimus and jetfire combining?

The real SR-71 Blackbird has a length of just over 107 feet. The width is well over 55 feet. Optimus in robot mode was confirmed to be 20 feet high.

So even if Jetfire folds in half at the point where the wings become wider (which is just about midway) you still have a backpack that's over 50 feet tall.

So Jetfire will have to make himself a LOT more compact to make this work.

At least he's got a good wingspan
salmonman78:
See that chasing after you just run under a bridge or a low clearance area....ZING!

Not bad, sucks all we've seen are the legends but ah well, least its confirmed now.

alot of people complain about scale this time around especially is because they turn into REAL vehicles, not some made up thing. a real Blackbird is tooo huge-i mean, he should be 2x prime's height in bot mode. and he becomes his jet pack...i mean itll be awesome, though im wondering how this will be in the movie

if it is in the movie. maybe its an early idea? back when Jetfire would be an Autobot. then after the toys started to be made, they dropped that part of the design and made him a Decepticon instead. its sorta like Deluxe BB's blade weapon and Deluxe Jazz's melee sword-shooty-thing

good point, but they look kind of mistransformed....
Stormcrow:
that just looks dumb
Alpha Prime:
I may be wrong, but isn't robot mode prime a little large compaired to the SR-71. Lets say about 28 feet for prime and about 107'5" feet for Jetfire in Jet Mode. This may work well as a toy gimmick, but in the movie......

I think if they combined something similar to Magnus & Prime in RiD, i think that would work well.

Wow. So Jetfire's a backpack for Prime?

That is...how you say....lame?

Pass for me.
VampireNekoBoy:
Well its a legends figure, who know what it will probably really look like. You cant do much with legends. Il wait to se how the REAL figures combine, to judge his combination.

Anyway - That may not be the precise way its supposed to combine. It's looks like someone is experimenting
If that IS the real-life Julliant, then she could be used as a weapon. Get everyone distracted, then I shall rule! RULE IT ALL!!!!!!

Ah-hem...

So....never bought a legends...never will.....ok then...bye....

The movie legends may not be that great, but the Classics legends are awesome, especialy the new-mold mini-bots like Brawn and Beachcomber.
Poho:
For the love of god show us the leader class!
Eric:
First off, Jetfire's a Decepticon. Why the HELL would he want to combine with Prime? Unless Jetfire in ROTF decides to become an Autobot, of course.

Second, it looks like Jetfire's just a big rocket pack for Optimus. In my opinion, good. I wouldn't want to see the two actually becoming one larger robot.
Bottom Out:
i have a feeling that jetfire will combine around primes arms, legs, waist, and shoulders as well as being a back pack to account for the sizing problems
Zie:
...that is attrociously comedic
Black Oracle:
I'm....hoping this is a less than accurate representation of Prime and Jetfire's combined form if they are indeed meant to combine.
Dankir:
Hideous!!!
mattjy:
I think it's pretty a good bonus given that it's made up from legends figures. I'm sure the combination (if there is one) in the film and for the larger scale toys would be more complex, but it's kinda nice that you can do this with the smaller toys. It's a bit like the blackout and scorponok combo - not expecially accurate but better than a poke in the eye or a kick in the nuts...
OptimusPrimeFour:
If hasbro wants to pull this off the right way they need to make a supreme class Jet Fire figure to be the one to combine with the new leader class prime mold , dont put any stupid gimmicks or sound components in any of them so you can leave more room for complex transformation/combination and you will have a great combiner , I can see optimus in the middle of the combiner mode kind of like Omega Prime like some one said on this board.

Also, you can make a voyager jet fire so people that dont have that much money can at least get "A" jetfire figure, kind of like leader/voyager megs.
Ktulu:
I think all the "LMAO WHY WOULD A DECEPTICON COMBINE WITH OPTIMUS" people are forgetting Jetfire's G1 cartoon counterpart, Skyfire, was initially a Decepticon after his resurrection, but switched sides after Starscream screwed him over. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they're doing something similar with this version of Jetfire as a nod to that.

Of course, there's also the "they have to work together against The Fallen" angle too.

Don't be so quick to doubt everything. As soon as he turned up the other day with a Decepticon logo, there were "lol so much for the combination" posts...and here we are now with confirmation that they *do* combine.
Hiraga:
So all it does is give Prime a pointy witch hat and the ability to fly?
I was hoping for some kind of armor.
Paradigm-Shift Prime:
So they ARE bringing pretenders to the movie then...Prime disguises as the Washington Monument!!!
Bottom Out:
how much do supreme class transformers go for normally?
Gingerchris:
So, we finally find out how robot babies are made in the BayFormers universe. I just hope Jetfire bought Optimus flowers and a dinner first.

Could mean anything. Could just be some extra play built into the figures by Hasbro for the heck of it. Maybe they all combine.
EnergonRusH:
Oh cool, its that new Jenna Jameson transformer I've been hearing about. All the porn stars have been raving about the vibrating settings that'll come with it: Jolt, Shockwave, and Blurr. Batteries not included.
saberconvoy:
Wow.

Unicron Trilogy idea here.
I like it.
Infil:
It's basically Jetfire in SR71 mode attaching to Prime's back. Which is GOOD. Precisely because Jetfire is a Decepticon, and Prime is the leader of the Autobots. It would make no sense for them, within the context of the story, to have a more involved combination.

They're not Arcee with the rumoured 3 bike alt mode, or Devastator. These 2 are designed to combine. Prime should not be designed to combine with Decepticon Jetfire.

Not to mention the scale issues with their alt modes, which would basically have Jetfire encasing Prime almost entirely if they did have a more intricate combination. Riding around on his back should be ok though.

Dirge121:
I like it. Im sure you could fiddle with Jetfires legs and arms until you had either extra limbs, or a jetpack with controls?

Either way, Legends are win, and combining legends are something amazing to me.
Sso02V:
Yes, clearly this mistransformed, stolen legends scale figure is an accurate representation of the full-sized characters as they would appear in the movie.

I think he's closer to 32, according to ILM.

Anyway, this combo doesn't look too cartoony for a live action adaptation, so it gets the thumbs up from me.

This is just for the Legends toys. I suspect the larger figures will be much closer to the movie. I figure Jetfire is either going to form armor for Prime like RID Omega Prime or a Prime folds into a Jetfire body to form the chest and head like G1 Power Master Prime.

And Jetfire starting out as a Decepticon is the same storyline the G1 character had.
SPLIT LIP:
They don't really look combined. More like a guy got both and TRIED to combine them, and failed.

But the blackbird isnt as thick as a peterbilt, though its still pretty huge.

SarahMobius:
At least two other people have made similar comments, so I don't feel too evil... but I wonder if Jetfire attaches pointing down. Giant black... yay that looks wrong. >.< Forgive my evil mind.
Bgrngod:
I'm having a hard time believing that's the right combined form. Just snapping on Jetfire like a backpack is way too basic, even for Legends size figures. There's got to be at least something else that can go on with it.

Nice to see some pics though.

True. I mentioned in another post here, that if the Blackbird were paper thin, it could still wrap around the Peterbilt at least twice
Optimatron:
This looks retarded. I really hope in larger scale figures that the combining gimmick (If present), is much more sleek and less backpack like in look. I also hope the cockpit (lol sorry couldn't resist, these pictures really don't help the matter either) isn't sticking out so far above Prime's head in other classes, or most importantly in the actual movie. That would look very lame in my opinion.

So here's hoping that this just looks like crap because they are either, legends class figures or transformed wrong

Just remember: Stolen, mistransformed, legends figures.

The cgi model, and I'm sure the larger sized figures, will look much better, espescially if done correctly.
