I think it is a stand up transformation, but there are enough joints in the legs that it does not need to rotate the waist, plus where would the spine go?

I'm glad he doesn't have a good alt mode (From the looks of it.) I'm pretty sure he won't have one in the movie, and I really don't want them to fuck up the cat mode for a gay mode that wasn't even on-screen.
