Clearer Image of Buster Optimus Prime busterJPG
2005 Boards member Samus_NG has posted a higher resolution image of the upcoming (and presently, Japan only) Revenge of the Fallen Buster Optimus Prime. This is the same image we saw previously, but at a higher resolution so you can get a better look at the modified gas tanks which transform into a suitably big gun for Optimus Prime to wield, as well as the new "no faceplate" head.

Check out the image in all its glory by clicking on the thumbnail to the left.

didn't they just come in from the bottom?
thygriever:
It's pretty cool but I'm just curious if it comes with 2 face molds. If it only comes with the non-faceplate one then I wouldn't buy it.

How much will this cost

Truly speaking, I really don't mind whether ROTF Leader Optimus has rubber or plastic tyres. The fact that Hasbro has made a much much better design compared to the first is already worth that price IMO.

And IMHO, I think the first Prime's rubber tyres was Hasbro's way of compensating for the lousy fat Optimus figure.

Hopefully for TF3, they'll make an Optimus Prime that has a retractable faceplate (but if they would make it flimsy, I take it back).
Heheh. Mouthpiece or not, I'm digging the new design. But yeah hopefully the paint turns out good. Otherwise I'll forget it.

If you already have the normal ROTF Prime, then save that $50. You can easily buy a few more good Deluxes or Voyagers with that. Plus, some Animated figures are coming out so why don't you save up for those?

As for me, I have neither version of Prime so I'm still looking at this Buster Prime. Also, although you have mentioned that the gun seems less impressive, I think it's alright. I mean, now Optimus is very screen accurate with swords and a gun. So why should you complain? but yeah, I would prefer him to have a faceplate. But like this is fine as well.
KingGrimlock:
i cant wait for this figure
primal-convoy:
If you are REALLY a (smart) fan, like me, you would wait for all the "improved", remolded or repainted movie toys to come out before buying any of the first lot.

If more people waited, Haz-blo and Takara would then bring out "better" toys from the get-go. buy buying the rubbish versions, you only serve to confuse both companies about what their customers really "want".

Plus you get grumpy when a new version is released. If you always wait, save your money and see whats coming out, you can normally "see" which figs are "repaint/remold" material. I waited and didnt buy most of the Cybertron/Energon line and Im reaping the rewards in cheap 2nd hand toys and/or improved repaints. Normally G1 inspired ones. With the money Ive saved from not buying every toy that gets released I can also splash out on the odd BOTCON repaint and Fans Project and chums release too.

So, just...wait.
Matrix Soul:
At least they are not just doing a simple re-color, this is probably a buy for me
Agent-GHQ:
The pics shows the red circle on the smoke stacks or muffler, I think? Is that what turns into this large weapon?
[Wing_Saber-X]:
Hmm.... can i just have Buster Prime's new mouth-less head and ADD on's?!

Sure, that's UPCOMING for us after this.

I'd like a retractable faceplate, guns(there are two of them), and swords, for the TF3 Optimus Prime. Oh, and less back kibble.
2bach:
what is the toolbox every1 keeps talking about

It amazes me just how nit picky some people get with the movie toys.
Seems like they won't be happy untill thay have something that's comprised of millions of tiny pieces that takes you about two days to transform.

That piece that's on the outside of Prime's leg, just next to the knee. It becomes the steps to the side doors in Truck mode. On a real truck, they also double as a toolbox.
Apparently there was a prototype of this toy that somehow had those fold away somewhere. Honestly though, they don't seem like that big a deal to me.
johaneggink:
Probably a dumb question, but this version is a different mold than the current RotF Prime and will probably not combine with Jetfire?
AMG:
I still haven't picked up leader Prime, which seems like it may be a blessing. I'm going to wait and see how this one turns out first before buying.
frilly toothpick:
this looks good, but all i really want is a rotf prime with nicer paint apps.

Same mold, just a new head and gastanks. It'll still combine.
The_Waspinator:
Right now, I'm glad that I have not bought a Movie 2 Leader Optimus of any kind yet. I'll definitely wait and see what this looks like in the final pictures, first.

Hawt.

Can't wait.
Tell_Story:
I wonder if Hasbro will get a chrome edition. Somehow I doubt it,we might just get silver paint. This is a Premium no doubt.
starscream90:
yeah but that would mean in us dollars 10.11 so i think your wrong

well yes it did come from the bottom but if you looked closly both galaxy force/ cybertron optimus prime and movie prime when they were on tv or the big screen, you would see they were suppose to come from underneath the cheeks. what i meant was that they should do that on this figure
Scantron:
Interesting idea and I'd definitely consider getting the gun-tanks if a version of them was released as a separate add-on, but the RotF Leader Prime mold sucks and there's no way I'd spring for a more expensive Japanese release of it.

THIS^ I say Hasbro does it (along with the guns) for the Premium version.

"Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing."
"I'll take you ALL on!"
"I rise...you fall..."
don't forget "GIVE ME YOUR FACE!"
