USA Today has an article with new information on the upcoming Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen sequel due out summer 2009. The article heavily focuses on the military's involvement in the film and discusses the rivalry between the Army and Air Force.

A second article is also available which has a bit more information on the upcoming Transformers Movie, you can see that here.

No new images are associated with the story in the online edition as of this time. Stay tuned in case that changes.

UPDATE: Images have been added, check them out here: USA Today Images.

i actually like how they've set jetfire as an old TF, also the part on the decepticons wanting sam alive because of the information he's learnt about there ancient history looks interesting.

Title could always be a double reference. For example, The Dark Knight literally refers to Batman, but it's also a reference to Harvey Dent, formerly the White Knight.

Sounds like a lot of fun the actors and soliders were having on set.

Doesnt that article referre to mexico not egypt? Alos they never said it was the final battle. If you read my post on plot guesses this about says exactly what i guessed. Bay orci and kurtzman your so predictable. i bet kruger wrote soundwaves parts...But i stilll cant wait

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I'm not buying the idea that the Fallen is a new character. There's too many new guys in the movie from what I'm reading.

The Fallen would refer to the defeated side, Starscream, Maybe Jetfire or Devastator.

in several other articles in the past, they did mention what takes place in Egypt and White Sands New Mexico (which stands in for Egypt)....it is in fact the final battle being filmed
Sledgehammer:
Both excellent pieces, full of some interesting points (first-time access to the Pyramids - astonishing enough in itself), some great on-set humour, insights into the DOD's involvement - how much hardware in that list?!?

"But sir, this is Hollywood! I'm shooting at invisible aliens and firing a gun that never runs out of ammo!"

Really looking forward to seeing how Jetfire and Soundwave play out, and if Devastator's done right, it could turn out to be the most amazing FX piece to ever hit the silver screen.

And the blue glowy thing in the pix gallery - a Spark, perhaps?

Colour me officially excited.
airfox:
Wow. The amount of hardware "leased" by the military sounds great.

And the story elements spoiled by the second article (the one with Soundwave and Jetfire) was a nice confirmation of old news.

I'll just have to set my expectations with this movie to lower so I won't get dissappointed and won't compare it to the likes of TDK and iron man.
But ... but ... TDK and Iron Man are about humans.
