I take it the soldier by the Humvee was a real soldier. That was pretty cool of Shia to say that.

Also damn that is the most amount of official, out-in-the-open info we've gotten on the movie so far... the lines about Devastator, Soundwave, and Jetfire switching sides. We already "knew" that but only from leaked sources.

Hmmmm, It says Jetfire is old and decrepit. He also sounds more evil than he was in G1.

OMG! More humans! Again the story is about humans... oh let me correct myself no story here... what were I thinking? I kept on comparing this to TDK. This is probably what you get after watching a fantastic movie with great story telling. I'll just have to set my expectations with this movie to lower so I won't get dissappointed and won't compare it to the likes of TDK and iron man. Like the majority would say, "who cares about the story we just want to see giant robots stomping at each other and lots of big explosions." Happy New Year to all!!

The bit about Jetfire is interesting, if a bit oddly worded...Also interesting that this version of the character will be the "Old guy" transformer.

I kind of wonder if he actually will change sides mid-film, or he'll just come into it with the back story that he was once a decepticon long ago who has been with the autobots for sometime now?
I could see this whole scene where Sam is running from the Decepticons, and then Jetfire swoops in to save him and Sam's all "Oh no, another one! Run away!"

Does anyone know if shockwave is going to be in the Movie?

Possible confirmation of Jetfire's old nature and ties in with Bay's comment of a geriatric Transformers from ages ago.

Jetfire will be one badass Autobot. Glad to get an official confirmation on that. Can't wait to see a regular movie pic of him.

REAL question though is what role Starscream plays in all this.

I just read the article. It's nice to see this information officially revealed! It's also nice to know that Jetfire will change sides. I'm not sure how having Jetfire as an old robot will be, seeing as I'm so used to the other versions of him. From the looks of the legends toy, they even gave him a beard! Confirmation of Devastator is also nice.

I have to say, what I think I like the most about this article, is that it's author is actually treating the Tranformers as characters, rather than as just "the robots" like so many of the article about the first movie did. It's rather refreshing to see this take, along with reinforcement of the Transformers as characters. For example, Jetfire is specifically refered to as "him" where it states "leads him to help the Autobots. I like that. It's also nice to see Soundwave labeled as a fearsome communications expert!

Now, I'm just hoping not many of the robots die, with, out of the new ones, Jetfire and Arcee being at the top of my list of concern.

Very true. I'm guessing it will be one of two things;

1. Megatron comes back, and Starscream fakes his allegiance again.

or...

2. Similar to the leaked treatment from a while back, a triangle of Starscream and his Decepticons vs. Megatron and his Decepticons vs. The Autobots.

nice, its good to know that this movie is going to be more about the robots and thier mythology rather than just a b oy and his car.

Yeah sounds like Jetfire does combine with Prime. That'll be weird to see on screen.

I posted in another thread but there's a good chance of some cybertronian hieroglyphics in the Pyramids referencing The Fallen.

why do aliens always have to be connected to the fucking pyramids! thats so lame and beat its not even funny...i am sick of that connection....and it hurts worse when its with transformers...

on the other hand thats quite a bit of info in that article and it makes sense jetfire would choose that old sr 71 plane if he is indeed to be an older bot in the movie...cant wait to see the bigger toys that are made for it ...i always liked the blackbird

if you're talking about the 2 new decepticon characters and a particular flying character......I think we already knew about all that from all the toy photos. So they're not spoilers as they're all over the site and one would have to live in a cave to avoid them.

This all sounds very promising. I like the character turn for Jetfire - kind of wish I didn't know, so it would be a cool surprise. Oh well... Maybe he turns back in the third act and blows Prime to smitherines. You heard it here first. "...keep your enemies closer..."

I'm liking the Jetfire old and and broken down story, and becoming an Autobot out of necessity. It also makes sense, SR-71 is out of service but still holds the records for speed and altitude, so the form has purpose...but no armaments. Maybe he's forced to combine with Prime for self defense.

Anyone else notice the part where it says Devastator's arms and legs will be built out of other robots?

This could mean two things -
i) It would confirm previous speculation that Devastator will be formed by seven team members (this would be likely if it said "made out of")

or

ii) It would mean there's only one sentient robot, who uses spare parts from vanquished opponents to augment his size when he transforms into the giant Devastator (the phrase "built out of" seems to imply this)


Only time will tell i guess, either way i'm just happy to see Devastator combining on the big screen. Although I would prefer seven sentient robots as opposed to one.

As for Jetfire, his age and broken down physicality as mentioned, is probably the main reason why the legends-class toy displays a gerwalk-ish posture. Kinda like a hunched over old man.

If this is true, then i suspect any voyager or leader class toy might display a similar posture. Hopefully, it looks much better than the legends one we saw.

Ha-Ha! This sounds awe-some on so many levels; The Description of Jetfire's character in this sequel has pleased me as well (is supposed to be older than Optimus, though, I wonder?). The description of actual blanks hitting the actors in those kind of action sequences made me cringe; That's nuts!

I laughed at description of the clamoring Soldiers looking for LaBeouf's Autograph.

Hmmmm..... I was thinking; The SR-71 was filmed in the Smithsonian so I wonder if the old decrepit Jetfire pretty much just gave up and sat still in a museum for who knows how long.

I'm starting to think that Revenge of the Fallen is referring to Jetfire's revenge on the Decepticons. Seems to work better than trying to fit the Fallen in as a separate character based on what we know so far.

Is there a lot of spoilers in these articles or is it safe to read?

Heh. I called Jetfire being the geriatric bot right after in-package pics of the legends toy appeared. It kind of puts a whole different perspective on the design now.

The first article lists off a few of the bots and cons, none of whom haven't been named before, just official confirmation and pretty much says where the final battle is going to take place but there are no major story points revealed. They spend more time talking about Shia and Megan and the cooperation between the production and the military than anything plot-related.

Should be safe enough to read if you're trying to avoid major spoilers.
