Well, on the one hand, it'll mean FAR more Transformers fanfiction/art being produced.

On the other hand, most of it will be stuff that most people won't want to read or look at.

Back when they were filming the uni scenes there was thatscene shot where all the kids were running and screaming from something while she was calmy walking away.... i seem to remember the pretender idea being the only conclusion most people had.

On a slightly different note..... can't you ask this source about trailer release dates or when they plan to be bothered to promote the movie?

I don't think I believe all of the "news" we've gotten. I mean The Fallen (the character) Devastator, and a human pretender are all 3 possibly major plot points, and they're all threats to the autobots and crew. I have high hopes, because while I loved the first movie, I wanted more TFs, and a more epic story. All this, however, seems to be too much to fit in one film.

I can only imagine all the separate threats panning out if they take place around the globe with the autobots separated into different parties, encountering different threats. That could be awkward in a film, though, and so far, the movie seems terribly unbalanced (assuming everything we're taking as fact is indeed true).

I can't wait for this movie but I can't help but feel that TF1 is to Bad Boys and TF2 is to Bad Boys 2 where they just didn't give a damn and put in as much into it as they could

I think some new plot points will be done away with quickly. Isabel Lucas has really only been seen in the college setting and one car scene, so I really only see her having some screen time in the "at college" part of the movie...or at least the human version of herself. There's also the rumor going around that Devastator is only in one scene (nowhere near confirmation on that, but it's made the rounds on the boards).

The fact that a bunch of different concepts are being thrown in does worry me, but I'll reserve judgement until I see how it all pieces together.

We have to pay because Bay still hasn't learned - less it more.

If a decepticon can diguise themselves as a human, it give the writters a gimpy way to introduce new characters, plus there can be thousands of Decepticons as humans. If a decepticon can disquise themselves as a human, why bother trying to disguise themselves as vehicles?

Waiting to see how it's going to work on in the movie before I go thumbs up or thumbs on the movie Pretenders concept since the film series is looking to be a mix of things I'm going to like and not like.

I won't mind it-- and in fact will probably like the unique twist-- PROVIDED THAT Alice's true TF form actually transforms into something else, like a scooter or something, I dunno.

I will agree that the whole "tentacle/tongue" thing does seem a little too "Kiss Players", though.

If it has the obligatory and over-done burst-from-human-shell scene, they'll most likely lose their children audience. I know I won't let my daughter watch it if it's gory.

Just a guess, but I'm guessing the Decepticons do this in order to get something from Sam. Why else place a Pretender agent at the same college Sam attends, disguised as an attractive woman? You'd also have to be a small Transformer to disguise yourself as a human. Vehicle modes are compatible for larger Transformers. But yeah, it's a rather easy way for smaller human-sized Transformers to disguise themself. As Frenzy proved, you don't need to disguise yourself as a human to get information from a computer.

I actually like this idea. She's probably not so much the T-X as she probably just has a hologram surrounding her instead of some kind of organic flesh.

Personally, I like this idea, and wouldn't mind if they brought in a Headmaster (Japanese version with a smaller bot and a big body, not a human in a suit) also in the third movie.

I agree, but that's the problem. If the Fallen and Devastator are true, I'd hope that they're major plot elements, and are fleshed out accordingly. I don't doubt the validity of this latest report (it makes sense according to what we've seen in the past), but I just imagine this film being full of so many plot points that aren't resolved untim TF3.

Given the "inspiration" drawn from other popular trilogies, though (Empire Strikes Back, especially) I'm expecting the Autobots to get torn up and left on the run in the face of all these Decepticon attacks, with the third movie marking their biggest advancements/comeback. The only real Autobot news is the mention of a possible Prime/Jetfire combo, and a handful of new small-ish autobots.

As long as the characters receive some proper characterization, and the film has some sort of cohesion, I'll be happy.

Because the more powerful and even more arrogant decepticons wouldn't stoop so low as to take on the form of a "fleshling" not to mention they are too large to be disguised as a human.

They most likely share the notion that Machines > Humans and send their weaker smaller and less respected decepticon forces to scan a human form, if this info about the movie holds true.

lastly, you wouldn't have cool vehicle modes to do your fanstastic mods and paint jobs on when the movie toys are released

Very good points. I believe you're on to something. I believe Orci has already told us that the Decepticons get more characterization in this movie and that "The Fallen" may or may not refer to one individual. With the subtitle Revenge of the Fallen, seems very plausible that this movie may be more of a movie about the Decepticons' comeback than the Autobots defense.

Still though, quite a few plot points for 2 hours of movie. Hopefully it still flushes out well.

How about those of us who are pissed to find a possible SPOILER on the MAIN PAGE? Jeez! If this is true, you guys managed to ruin a major plot twist.

OK so the big question should be... What is her alt mode? We know she wears a human shell, but what does the robot turn into. I would love it if she turned into a head. This movie as 2 "confirmed" combiners. It would make sense.

This is untrue. If it were, the decepticons would have all kept cybertron modes rather than small tanks, police cars, and the other primitive forms they took in the original film.

Well, if we remember, there was an early report of Alice's character as a student? Or at least someone that's on campus with Sam that can get close him. It makes sense if the they have Decepticons going this route. I mean, a smaller TF disguised as an attractive female will be better for them than sending a hulking robot. Was it ever revealed what type of role Rainn Wilson's character would play?

Well actually it's understandeble someone else too had this idea. Back then when I first read the leaked script, I became so disillusioned that I prepared my own version of the 2007 Movie script - in that 'movie' there'd have been a human federal agent (a more serious version of the wonky Sector 7 agency from the movie, one of the good ideas in the movie ruined by Bay making them look like idiots) , Agent Jensen, who turns out to be a human-sized robot in an organic pretender shell - as it is revealed though, he WAS human once, he was one of the first humans to encounter the TFs on earth... well I won't reveal the rest, I might release my 'script' as a fanfic some day.

What did Frenzy turn into in the first movie? Sort of whatever he wanted and nothing all at the same time. Just because pretenders worked like that in G1 doesn't necessarily mean the movie will be faithful. I think she is pretty much just a scrappy-bot like Frenzy that might shift into other things a bit but no clear alt mode is emphasized (just a guess).

Oh, TF-verse logic...or lack thereof. This isn't a bad account but if the Decepticons really want something from Sam or the entirety of humanity for that matter why don't they just kill them. I don't think they'd have a very hard time at it. Also, there's no reason to assume movie TFs don't have 'shrinky-growy' technologies (or at least TF-compression) as we've seen that the all-spark does and it created them all. But there lies the pitfall of TF-logic: for every attempt at accounting for one issue two more arise...
