This time we can exclusively reveal both alternate modes for Soundwave. He will appear in a Cybertron mode, which will turn into a satellite, and he will also appear in an Earth mode - this will be a pickup truck.

What transformation rig? Each transformation is improvised in the computer, what you could see adhered to real physics, what you didn't simply disappeared.

I'm going to be dull and simply echo the prevailing sentiment here: satellite mode sounds AWESOME, pick-up truck mode I'll reserve judgement on until I get to see it. It's not something that immediately gets me salivating with anticipation, especially since Ironhide is a pickup already, but some of the pickup samples posted in this thread look potentially promising, and I'm sure he'll be tricked-out in some way; everybody knows that Soundwave is the sound and communications bot, and with one of his modes clearly acknowledging that precedent it's hard to believe that the other one wouldn't in some way, too. Maybe Soundwave is gonna be a mere cameo. We've yet to see any pickup trucks that looks like it could be a Transformer on set, and filming is almost done. Then again, since Soundwave is a spy, his scenes could have been filmed by the 2nd crew.

Yeah, satellite mode is awesome and pretty creative. Truck mode could be either bad or good. If it's "sleeked up" some, has SOMETHING that would justify the name "Soundwave", like with Animated Soundwave's alt mode, than it would work pretty nicely. Just a plain pickup truck, though, that wouldn't work.

People are really upset with him being a pickup truck? They could not have him be a radio, that was Frenzy in the first one. I do not see anything else working for him. They want him to be mobile so I can see why they chose this. If he were just something stationary people would have their panties in a bunch because they would say he did not do enough or get enough action. I like this idea, if it is true, and can see it being truly kick ass if they do it right.

Amen. I can't believe all the haters on here. Give it a chance. I mean Soundwave has been widely accepted as a truck/jeep vehicle before..look at all the custom Alternators/BTs. Animated has a Truck Mode Soundwave. Wasn't Soundwave a truck in Machine Wars??

Seriously, I was expecting a Hummer with Ravage transforming from the spare wheel on the back, so a pickup truck isn't too hard to imagine. Of course, in today's market, a gas-guzzling SUV might be a better fit as an enemy.

I like them both a lot. The Satalite is like an all watching eye. His truck mode is like awesome, you see trucks all the time. A big black van with satalites I see why you want it, but i think it would still stick out. If he is suuposed to be like the ultimate watch bot, a more common vehicle would work best. If ravage is the spyder bike it can chill in the bed when in robot more. Besides coulda been an icecream truck.

Because the original post is rather clear that the sattelite mode is his Cybertronian form (which makes me wonder if it has lots of weapons systems and, if he comes to Earth from Cybertron like this, thrusters and such to boot) and the pickup truck is his Earth form.
Personally, I was kind of put off with this for some reason, but I've warmed up to it and it's not the first time Soundwave's been a truck of some kind. Not to mention... all the Alternators customs of Soundwave as some sort of truck. Frankly, I'm just glad he's not a tape deck... remember guys... he could have been Frenzy!

But seriously, an permanent satellite alt mode? It makes sense for the character, I suppose, but unless you want Soundwave to be floating in orbit for the entire film or just lying inert on the ground whilst all the other characters are fighting, it's not a form that's going to be good for the character or the film. That's why a Cybertronian satellite is a great "introductory" mode for the character, before he takes a more all-action mode for Earth use...
