Transformers Movie 2 Rumors: New Decepticons named and Probable Humans

The Decepticons will be getting some HUGE reinforcements in the sequel to the first live-action Transformers film. So huge that it takes six robots to make up the whole thing. That's right, the Constructicons will be in TF2! In addition to the Constructicon news, the IESB has just been given the following human character/casting breakdowns -
[CHUCK] 19-25 yrs., Sam's roommate at Princeton. He runs a conspiracy theory website. Funny in an irreverent, edgy way, he is shocked to see his conspiracy theories come to life. (2nd Lead)

[U.S. MILITARY LEADER] Late 20s/early 30s, African American with a great sense of humor and a tough military presence. (Supporting lead)

[UK SPECIAL FORCES LEADER] British, in his early to mid 30s, smart and capable. Can be Caucasian, Black, East Indian. (Supporting lead)

[GALLOWAY] Early 40s-early 50s, male, National Security Advisor and presidential liaison. A curt man who is tightly wound. (Supporting Lead)

[PROFESSOR COLAN] 40s, Sam's physics professor at Princeton. He's a self-satisfied intellectual who compares himself to Einstein, and is arrogant enough to wear leather pants to look cool. (1 Scene)

[THERESA] Early 30s; she's Sgt. Epps' wife, has 4 kids, sassy and sexy, good with comedy. Submit African American actresses only

[MOMMA SIMMONS] This NY Momma is in her late 60s / early 70s. She runs a deli/ butcher shop with her son in Brooklyn. Tough and sarcastic. (1 Scene)

[MASSIVE DYNAMICS CEO] 50s, male, this Corporate CEO appears in front of congress to testify. (1 speech/scene)

[TEXAS CONGRESSMAN] 55-65 yrs., on a Congressional Committee investigating the purpose of the "Automated Defensive Initiative" developed by Massive Dynamics.

[FBI DIRECTOR] Mid 50s, male, giving a press release assuring the public they will be safe against attacks. (1 speech/scene)

[CNN REPORTER] Reporting on missile strikes and bombings in various cities. Submit male / female, all ethnicities (1 speech)


So Tyrese will be back, let's hope Duhammel is too! So now we hve a new entity called Massive Dynamics and the last character, the cnn reporter gives away that there will happen simultaenous attacks around the globe.

Interesting. I like the idea of Sam in college.

Automated Defensive Initiative?? That sounds like a plan for an Autobot City on Earth!! Metroplex??? Fort Max?? Oh I hope they don't prove me wrong.

i dont see any real confirmation on who will be in it...is it just that the constructicons will be? but unspecified as how many or names? i could actually kinda care less about them...i dont know how they will make the autobots able to take down a threat that big, since they mostly got their asses handed to them in the first...

also, the title should probably not have constructicons in it, some people might not want to be spoiled...

I wouldent be surprised fi they only take 2-3 constructiocons and skip Devastator. They need to get the combining to lookg GOOD if thye are gonna pull that off.

Now what could work as a warrior against Devastator without having to have massshifint is if they take Omega SUprem as a real Spaceshuttle. I know there are ppl wanting if that would be the case the shuttle to be Sky-lynx but I think Omega Suprem would be cooler. ..man a pure white spaceshuttle as Omega comming down from the sky...transforms and lands a kick in devastators head and all ppl around just stands there looking at these two giants ,..kinda like a standoff ......and then..HELL BREAKS LOOSE.

Like a bunch of construction vehicle with decepticon symbols all over them on a truck bed or something. Just like the pics of the Autobots we've seen recently.

Still VERY cool news. One year is a lot less than twenty three to wait for live action Transformers.

I dont think they'd use the name Devastator, as it would confuse the audience. To anyone who saw the movie but didnt follow the toys, devastator was a tank that was torn apart by the autobots and military.

Any truck large enough to do that wouldnt be traveling across city streets, I think.

If this is indeed true, I hope they aren't following that treatment where he shows up, and is promptly killed right off, because that's just stupid.

as much as I would like to see Devastator I think I would rather see Thundercracker and Skywarp, also Shockwave (Soundwave is pretty much guaranteed though)

How do you film a combiner actually combine? Seriously. Oh wait, just get in real close like with the camera so we cannot see what's going on. Just like that Bumbleebee Barricade fight....lamo!

Looks like the leaked treatment is becoming more and more the real deal, with each and every news bit! Also.. WAY too many human characters in this one.

So it will take place (Sam's part) In New York city and not Philly afterall (Story wise) It's probbably cheaper to flim out there then in NYC anyway... so I guess I don't have to edit the Sequel fanfic im working on after all...

Too bad Bay already pissed away the names "Bonecrusher" and "Devastator" in the first movie. If the Constructicons combine into Devastator in the sequel, expect a shitstorm of confusion & controversy.

I seriously doubt this. The constucticons are one thing. But devastator I'm afraid is just irking me a bit, since in the first film brawl was devastator, they did'nt change the error when it came to dvd.

I guess other than the magical hyper magnetic touch that pulls all the limbs together traditionally in transformers I'd imagine the movie combiners would launch huge cables at the other parts, and simply pull them into the amassed frame via a japanese mecha style similar to evangelion or the dark cell parts in G gundam.

The movie is still a whole year away. Which means I need to lay off the sequel theory sauce for a few more months.

Probably just a bogus rumor like he said he was gonna give us.

They have already explained the whole Brawl/Devastator error numorous times Im sure it'll be addressed again before TF2 comes out...Just to avoid confusion.

I wouldn't be suprised if Bonecrusher gets repaired and reformated into his Constructicon self and it's explained why he looked the way he did in TF1 and what happened to him since then.

Hmmm, yes, lots of elements from the leaked treatment - Sam in college with 'wacky' roomy, Constructicons, heading toward SW states - tie in with this and other rumours.

I'm hoping this is all part of Bay's disinformation, not because I dislike the idea of Long Haul and Mixmaster, but because I vomited a little in my brain when I read that treatment.

Wow, I sound like a whinger already. I'm sure I'll be won over when the designs leak.

PS - didn't the 'fan' Long Haul images turn out to be from somebody hired to do artwork on TF2?

It would be ridiculous for Devastator to be killed off just like that. But then again look at the Fair Lady Bonecrusher and remember how quickly she rolled over dead on command...

It's going to happen, because it's the worst idea possible, and that seems to be Micheal Bay's thing...

I just think it's cool that Sam's going to Princeton. Because if it's the Princeton I'm thinking of; it's only 20 minute away from me.
Interesting thought on the Constructicons....I wonder if they're going to uses his proper name, or just perpetuate Micheal Bays screw up.
Or is Devs gonna just be renamed Brawl for this movie? HAha!

Devastator as the prototype gestalt, don't see him lasting long...
BUT! This means huge potential in other sequels from him being reengineered, and his brethren. Then Autobot countermeasures...

As for the name screwups, we don't know how the constructicons come into being, so that's still potentially fixable and using it to its advantage.
This could mean all sorts of story points, not to mention potentially megatron having the midas touch in bringing machines alive.
The ADI as Metroplex... Sweet. The ADI as Trypticon... Oh holy crap.

Very interesting. Either a great spoiler or just some well placed misinformation from the Bay camp. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Constructicons, that's left feild. How are they going to combine if they do? I WANNA SEE.

Momma Simmons sounds great. I love how they portrayed the humans in the first film and I hope they keep that comedic seriousness for this film.


I don't think Decepticons care about city streets and their puny restrictions.

Here's how to solve the Devastator name problem:

Let's say Megatron is back, and declares to any LOYAL Decepticons that the previous "Devastator" has failed him. What if Devastator could be like a TITLE, given to the most worth, destructive Decepticon?

And declares that Brawl, despite his death, is no longer worthy of being remembered as Devastator.

And the Allspark/Spark fusion thingy gave him the knowledge of ancient arts and technology, aka one of them could be the Combiner technology.

Hence forth, he makes the Constructicons, and in the moment of a critical battle, they combine and the new bigger robot proclaims:

DEVASTATOR REBORN!! AUTOBOTS PURGE!!!


Or something, some silly plot device like that to clear up the confusion over the Devastator name problem.

I'm not going to believe anything till I'm sitting in the theater watching it. Though I'd really like to see exactly how they'd pull off making a combiner in the Movie style...

I would kill to have Devastator look like the fan made one since that rules but I know it isn't going to happen.

If true, it looks like Josh Dumahel and Tyrese are back. They're casting for Tyrese's character's wife (4 kids, damn he's busy!). Don't think they'd bring Epps back without bringing Lennox in too.

As for the Constructicons, anything other than Constructicon Maximus works for me.

I hope I'm wrong, but I smell three words:
HOOK, LINE, & SINKER.

Why? Because IESB even says itself at the bottom, that there was no confirmations from either Don Murphy or Paramount yet on any of the "information" released about the sequel, which once again goes back to Bay saying he was going to deliberately misinform people during the production of this film to throw them off, due to all the hell he went through during production of the first film.

With all these new "News" reports about TF2, I think Bay & Co. are throwing out tons of bait, and like hungry fish, many are jumping to gulp the bait down, without seeing the hook that the bait is attached to. We'll see come 6/29/2009.

More rumors. I don´t want to get excited cause Mr.Bay told us he would be spreading fake rumors.

It's not true. We all know they are launching B.S. information. If it's verified from a source I will stand corrected but I don't see it happening.

I like to see that the US government is making some kind of coningency plan for an invasion of giant alien robots. TF2 shouldn't come as such a surprise to the characters, especially the government/military folks. Perhaps this "Automated defense initiative" is a big honking gun emplacement, which could then be copied by Megatron, Galvatron, Shockwave, etc..

Seems to me that what'll happen is there'll be another Decepticon attack, and they call Simmons and the Soldiers out of retirement to fight, and they need Sam and Bumblebee's help as well. Overall, fairly standard sequel stuff, but I'm not complaining.

My 2cents on Devastator: They could pull an "Ultra Magnus" on us. Brawlistator could combine with the Constructicons, using them almost as a power-armor. It could be a parts-former in the movie.

Of course, they could also just never name the giant combining construction-vehicle robot. If they didn't have the "XXXX reporting in" scene from TF1, we wouldn't ever know Bonecrusher's, Barricade's, Frenzy's, or Blackout's names.

I don't see why this would be misinformation. I mean, they released the character's names in the first movie. It's not like they are leaking designs and whatnot.

I really think that leaked treament was real and the movie will be based off of it.

This still makes me think that original PDF of the story outline will be at least 75% of the movie

Yea - looks like they decided against the Asian side-kick... though why they don't keep Miles is beyond me... he strikes me as the type to be into govt conspiracies... and the chemistry between him & Sam is already there...
