Likely in the US there are many other people with the same name.
Tastes differ. The fact, that you do not like their music, does not make it worse.

Another point I would like to make, and that our russian friend reminded me of, is the fact that the lead singers name is F'in Chester. Chester….really? LOL……
That reminds me of that movie Airheads. Anyone remember that one, with Adam Sandler and Brenden Frazier in it? Remember when Fraziers characters name was Chaz, but he was outed by the cop when he pulls out his yearbook from HS to reveal his name was actually Chester! LOL…… they must have used the lead singer of LP's life story to do that scene in the flick. Just adds to their lameness….

Yes, the song is great! It's Magnificent!!! It had just played in my player At the concert we were all singing in chorus and weeping, so that almost nothing had been heard I was quite far away from the scene, somewhere in the 15th row, on the downhill, so i almost could not see anything, I had to jump for a look at the group. Chester was running across the scene, he was wearing a red T-shirt and he was well seen Well, they played whole-heartedly! At the end, when a fireworks thundered, Mike was staggering from exhaustion, Chester approached him, put his arm around his shoulder, and together they had bowed to us

Formally, it was free.
But actually …
Tickets (there were about 20,000) were played on a some Russian radio, winning them was far from easy. It took almost a month to win the ticket, and not a little effort and money! But the concert was really awesome!…

Was it a free concert? Linkin Park couldn't sell out a whorehouse next to an army base.

Yes, they are similar. The only difference is 311 actually had one likeable song. Linkin Park rode the rap/rock fad of the late nineties to get where they are today. Hell, look at how they spell Lincoln. Definately late nineties style. Sadly, I might add.

If it was me, and I was in it strictly for the money, I would not want to be reinventing the band's style. Why? Because you know that you have a ton of loyal fans that will pay for the music; reinventing the sound could possibly mean a loss of fans, and thusly money.
As for them being in it just for the money? I know they ARE in it for the money. It is their career. They need to be in it for the money, or they won't sell good. But there is that tiny word you put in there, just. If they were in it simply for the money, every song would sound the same, just like most of the pop and hip-hop artists' songs. They don't care how the songs sound, they've found a formula that works and milk it for all it's worth. If there is one thing that is good about A Thousand Suns, as bad as it is, every song is unique. Of course, this is speculation, I can't read their minds, neither can you, so we'll never be sure about this.
I said I didn't wish to argue, so from here I'm going to stop commenting about this; we can just agree to disagree and be on our merry way.

It is laughable for me to even consider for a moment that they are not just in it for the money. The whole "reinventing" tthemselves thing you go on about proves my point. They changed their sound to keep with what is popular.
Anyone who thinks any famous music "artist" is not in it just for the money is kidding themselves.
gambit020480
I already did. I didn't listen to their lame ass song.

Can't bay just let this band go wherever 311 went?

To Gambit: this.
I really liked Linkin Park in the beginning, up until Minutes to Midnight, when it was less like the rap-rock they were known for. I enjoyed having a band that made rap-rock music and didn't have a frontman with the name of Fred Durst and didn't think that every other word out of your mouth should be f*ck (censored for any sensitive people out there).
I never thought they sounded anything "mainstream" to me. M2M has less rap, more singing, but didn't sound anything like Theory of a Deadman or Godsmack.
Also, if they're in it for the money, why did they screw everything that had made them successful (essentially dropping rock) to reinvent themselves as a more techno-y group. Chancy business tactic? Maybe. But I personally am not convinced that this would be true.
Not trying to start an argument, I'm just saying my thoughts on one of my favorite bands (that with this last album greatly disappointed me). Gambit, if you think that Linkin Park sucks, that's your opinion, and I respect that, but I don't see how they could only be in it for the money.
On the other hand, I wished that they had Wretches and Kings somewhere in the movie; that would've made my day. It's the only song that even slightly gives off the style they originally had.

Ha-ha! I was there! In crowd I had nothing to breathe! But all of us, 20000 Russian, cried madly when they sang Iridescent!!!

Deal with it.
Krayt
You were standing in the wake of devastation
And you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
And with the cataclysm raining down
Insides crying "Save me now"
You were there, impossibly alone
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go
And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

I was around 18 or 19 when Linkin Park hit the mainstream airwaves. And what held true then still is the case today. Linkin Park sucks hairy balls and they always will. Those MF'ers back in the day were all about down with the mainstream, and so on like most bands do. Until they are signed by a major record label. Then, all the sudden, it is cool to be a money whore for the masses.
I reiterate my first point, Linkin Park sucks and they always will, because they are only in it for the money, not the love of music. Too bad their music sucks too. Maybe if ever song didn't sound the same…..
Lame song by a lame band.

It's cool! I was not able to come into the Moscow film festival, but I was at the concert… It's sadly that I understand very little spoken English Guys, please help, write what everyone is saying in the video It's terribly interesting!
Triceratron
The two color 3D doesn't really work in this format, apparently, as the lighter colors against the black background show the edges of the color separation and wrecks the effect.
thebruteslayer
This song was perfect for the movie.
