It seems to be a tradition now, any new Transformers movie is followed by a series of nominations for the Golden Raspberry Awards, aka the Razzies. Movieweb reports that Transformers Age of Extinction has been nominated in several categories, including Worst Picture, Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Combo (for which it says “any two humans / robots”), Worst Director, and surprisingly, Kelsey Grammer gets a nomination for Worst Supporting Actor. Sophia Myles rounds off the list with a nomination for Worst Supporting Actress.
Do you feel these nominations are justified? Do you feel a strong sense of deja vu toward the grand majority of these nominations? Share your thoughts in the discussion thread.

he's not the worst actor in anything he's ever been in, period.

Is this the one with the tongue? The gold tongue, with the lips?

I dunno, I guess I'll agree to disagree as well. I mean, I grew up watching G1. And yeah, I know…bayformers aren't G1 by any means. But for what it's worth, showing an awesome trailer indicating something epic was about to happen between Prime and Grimlock, for me, really set an expectation. Not that anyone can blame me for it as I was not alone in this feeling. It was rather misleading that Grimlock just ended up being tamed after one smack and one cheesy feel-good speech. You'd think he would have put up more of a fight than that. Ah well.
I'll be hesitant to watch TF5 in the theaters. But not to say I won't give it a chance like I did with 1 – 4. And if they do put in the 5 Trolls of Darkness….I might have to invest in the movie line once more

3. All of which came from Revenge of the Fallen. Not even close to the record.

How many razzies have the transformers movies won so far? Is it a record?
cobracobra
Age of Extinction is by far the worst of the franchise. Too bad because I thought Dark of the Moon was so impressive.
Galvatross
I'll agree to disagree about the quality part, in my opinion. Honestly, I was fine with the Dinobots, but I think TF 5 and maybe TF 6 as well is what will make or break them. I'm fine with them being mysterious for now. Even if you didn't like them in TF 4, at least they didn't show up and die. They were prisoners on Lockdown's ship, Lockdown gives some vague hints about their origins, Prime releases them to fight the Cons, they wreck stuff in Hong Kong, and they run off after the battle. However, I will admit that I do suspect that something was cut regarding them. I've heard unconfirmed rumors about a scene or scenes that didn't make it into final film regarding their origins. I do hope we get this in the next film, and I also hope they get a foe or multiple foes that actually challenge them.
If there's something I could have done without, it was Shane. I don't like that douche. They should have had an Autobot rescue the Yeagers instead.
Either way, I look forward to TF 5. I hope the next one is more enjoyable for you, Dark Seeker. Maybe we will get the long awaited "5 Trolls of Darkness."

The razzies…i forgot they did those. Wow ppl (especially here) don't wanna see bay win for nothing…oh well
Dark Skull
I'll have to admit. When I first saw it, I wasn't really bored. I was curious as to how the story would play out. Bay using somewhat realistic human behavior (us turning against the Autobots and hunting them down with the help of Lockdown for the sake of the seed) was alright. Betrayal is a human behavior. So is greed. But the plot had a lot of holes. Things either happened abnormally too fast, or they just dragged itself on out needlessly/unnecessarily. Toward the end, I was wondering if I shouldn't just get up and ask for my money back (after using the restroom because I really had to go). Not so sure seeing it in IMAX 3D was even worth it as I'm pretty sure I would have had the same "enjoyment" (if any) in a regular digital theater. I stuck it out because I wanted to see the Dinobots. I was sorely disappointed that such a touted "warrior" was tamed by one little bitch slap when the trailers hyped it up to be some epic battle. *smdh* I felt they could have done so much more with that part. And so much better. They could have eliminated some of the other crap in the movie if time constraints was an issue so that they could have allowed for more/better dinobot scenes. But then it was 3 hours long…..was there even an issue with time constraint? Who knows. All I know is, the entire movie felt rushed in certain aspects. The "quality" of the TF live action movies was the worst in AOE by far. I'd rather watch a marathon run of the first 3 than to sit through AOE again. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I did enjoy watching the first 3. AOE? Like I said, maybe I expected too much, and maybe others didn't expect anything at all. But I agree about the diversity part. There's always something for everyone.
Well….the interwebz are seriose bizness. And if people dared to not like what they like…oh yeah. It's a shitstorm.

When people get bent out of shape over the Razzies I get the strange feeling they never even bothered to Google it.
The Razzies aren't a serious award and at no point does the group make itself out to be serious and the only word on films. Part of the reason for being silly is to not only poke fun at bad movies but to poke fun at how the Oscars can be too serious and too full of themselves. The Razzies is just a bunch of film buffs and film geeks who figured if they can't stop Hollywood from making bad movies at least they can find a way to get a little jab at Hollywood for not living up to a high standard of cinematic art.
What Razzie voters would love more than anything else is a year without the Razzies because there wasn't a film bad enough to be nominated.
Galvatross
In my case I wasn't bored for a minute, and it actually holds up just as well on repeat viewings for me, which is not the case for ROTF, although the latter does have parts or scenes I do like. Different strokes for different folks. The diversity of the brand is one thing I love about Transformers.
Dark Skull
Yea, shorter would be waaay better! There were parts of the movie where it just felt like it dragged on needlessly. I'm sorry, but watching AOE made me feel like I enjoyed ROTF more.
Galvatross
While I do agree with you 100% about AOE, I wouldn't get that worked up over the Razzie.
Indeed we do. Not everyone is going to agree with each other about a movie. I think a lot people want others to like things they do, and likewise hate things that they hate, but this will never happen. Moreover, we as fans shouldn't look to others to validate our opinions. I loved AOE, but I know it wasn't everyone's cup of tea.
Dark Seeker and KnightHawkke, you are two guys whose opinions I always respect whether I agree with you in full, part, or not at all. With most of the main humans and Autobots established, I do think the next installment will and should be shorter. Also, while I liked Attinger I do believe having some humans as villains has run its course, so that should also help make it shorter. I want only Decepticons and other Transformers and the Creators as villains from here on out.
Even though I don't care for any awards show, I'd be down for that. The voice actors in AOE all did a tremendous job.
EDIT: One more thing. I do think that viewers should actually view a film before forming an opinion on it. I see some fans who claim in every thread that they hate AOE, but then they'll openly admit that they have never seen it and don't plan to. If you didn't like the live action films you have seen that's fair enough, but if you're going to hate on something at least watch it first.
Autovolt 127
That they do.
The voice work as well.
We really need a Best Voice Actor category for the Oscars.
LegendAntihero
Well I could care less about this list. I don't even know what Razzies is.
Littlesprimes
Haha. I know! It was a joke. Nice to see people reply to a lot of comments tho!

You and I seem to have pretty similar opinions on the movies. I love the first, despite some of the scenes/lines of dialogue that make me roll my eyes, but the others…
Aesthetically, they're beautiful. Bay's cinematography and framing really is top-notch, and I say that from a photographer's perspective. His editing and screenplays, though…ugh.
It also depends on who they get to direct 5. If it's thrown in the hands of Spielberg (highly doubtful, but would be awesome) or someone like Brian Singer (who can handle both action, and having many characters on screen at once), then it's got a chance. If they pull some shit like giving it to Roberto Orci or something, then we may be looking back at the Bay films as "the good ol' days."
Please don't. It's people like you who make those of us who actually appreciate the movies on any level lose credibility.
I feel pressed to mention too, on the list of the top grossing movies of all time, adjusted for inflation, AoE doesn't even break the top 200:

Yeah no while I agree that AOE is certainly not among the worst movies of all time I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a masterpiece. It still has plenty of flaws that keeps it from being truly amazing and as much as I don't like saying this there are movies this year that does a better job at what they're at. That said I do think AOE so far is a step up from the past movies and if they keep it up with 5 and 6 that would be cool.
KnightHawkke
I think had AOE not been no longer than 2 hours and actually tried to do less it would have been so much better, it was ok and no, not the worst film of the year by far.
