“For Your Consideration” sheets are frequently used to advertise in entertainment trade publications. They are specifically directed towards members of awards voting groups in the entertainment industry, like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that annually presents the Academy Awards celebrating the best in motion pictures, or the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences which presents the Primetime Emmy Awards for television.
Paramount has published the “For Your Consideration” sheet of Transformers: Age Of Extinction quite possible targeting the 87th Academy Awards.
The categories include “Best Picture of the Year”, “Best Director” and the previously announced “Best Visual Effects”.
You can take a look at the full list, after the jump.

I didn't see the Oscars but AOE didn't even get a nomination from what I researched.
Gravity took in a lot of wins, I'll have to check that out soon. Sandra Bullock looks great as always and the movie may be full of suspense.

And Paramount's playing on that to make themselves the underdogs here. They're creating a false equivalency with this.

Sadly even if a science fiction, fantasy, action, or superhero film gets close to film perfection the odds are still firmly stacked against them because the Academy doesn't like giving out the big prestigious awards to certain types of films.
It took the tragic and untimely death of Heath Ledger to pressure them into giving a superhero film one of the big awards. It wasn't until the third Lord of the Rings film before they gave into pressure to give it the big awards. The only way certain films even get the nomination is when they cynically hope that nominating something with pop culture appeal will bring in viewers to the award show.

The movies have made tons of money and a lot of hard work. Things like action scenes, the robots and working on both a schedule and budget.
Michael Bay has a very unique style for his films but unfortunately his Transformers movies is always singled out.
It feels as if Paramount is trying to get people to recognize Bay for all the hauling he's done, not for just AOE but for Transformers as a whole.
Sadly it's useless because even I know it's not Oscar worthy.
Cheebs
*shrug*
I also loved the movie and didn't see anything better this year since there weren't any Star Trek movies or anything.
kaijuguy19
I can see them being nominated for being among the best visual effects department but that's it. I mean I enjoy AOE a great deal but I can't see it being nominated for best picture. After all none of the past movies did though not to say there isn't credit to where credit is due for AOE like what I said earlier about having cool visual effects.

They know they have no hope of winning. That's the point. They're fighting this incredibly uphill battle to get support, not because they really think they deserve this. The second this becomes a hashtag, Paramount's won. Do you really think they feel that this RotF level disaster is Oscar worthy? And even if they did, do you think they'd give a shit?
While the Academy may legitimately be a group of elitists who refuse to recognize talent unless it comes to them in a way they're used to digesting, the best thing about them is that hacks like Michael Bay will never have their recognition.
Moy
I thought it was so Bay can win best director and you'll have something to laugh about all the time.

You guys see what they're doing, right?
Suddenly the multi million dollar juggernauts that shovel indulgent slop down the throats of the people (who eat it up, don't get me wrong) and pedal frighteningly regressive messages about racial and gender roles and ethics in general aren't populist trash, but the underdogs, fighting against Hollywood elitism with blue collar hard work and optimism.
It's an eye rollingly obvious move on Paramount's part. This doesn't have shit to do with the Oscars.
But it's still worthy.
Beastwarsfan95
Apes for best picture.
Chopperface
You know what? Why the hell not. AOE for Best Picture.
Otherwise Guardians or Apes will get my pick.
TUROK1134
You really think they did this with a straight face?
I'm pretty damn sure they did this full-well knowing how absurd it was.
But, fuck it. Transformers 4 for best picture. I should make a hashtag out of it.
Autovolt 127
^This or Guardians of the Galaxy. Now these are blockbusters that would be far more deserving of best picture.
UltraAlanMagnus
Or the fact it was him, Dio Brando.
EightiesKid
If anything were to come of this, it would be one of those "signs of the apocalypse" moments. Wow.

I…what?
Does Paramount really think this movie is Oscar material? A movie with a mostly incoherent plot where the only notable performances were from the voice actors? I mean, I liked the movie more than I did the previous two, but that's not hard to accomplish.
For every step forward the movie tried to make, it took a leap backwards. That's bad, because I actually liked the idea behind the plot.

Ugh, don't remind me.
