Transformers 4 First Plot Details - SPOILERS!

Looks like the leaked script was not fake after all.

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet.

However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.

Fascinating! It's an official press release, so it must be true. Who could this new "forgotten enemy" be? He's got crosshairs, so this could be a clue...

Anyway, it's some new news. Great to hear.

It has to be Unicron.

That sounds pretty good, actually. I hope this turns out well.

Sounds interesting. I can't help but think that the ancient, powerful Transformer menace is Unicron but there's nothing to confirm that in the description, just a feeling I have based on how it's worded.

I also like that it seems they're following up on the whole "Cybertronian tech in human hands" angle that's been mentioned in the past but never really explored.

C'mon Liege Maximo. Or anything else that's not Unicron, actually.

But really, "an ancient, power Transformer" is about as vague as it gets.

I remember when all the official material for DOTM said Shockwave was the main villain. I'll take this with a grain of salt.

Yeah, it could be anyone or anything at this point. Hell, everyone was assuming DOTM would be featuring Unicron based on nothing more than the editing in an ROTF featurette, so I wouldn't put much stock in a few deliberately vague lines in a press release.

But it's still totally going to be Unicron.

Who knows if any of this is true or not. If it is, it has to be Unicron.

I hope it's not Unicron. Nova Prime? Overlord? Galvatron? I'll take one of those.

I'm just glad the rumor trains is getting a move on. The lead up to the movie is just as fun as the movie itself.

Agreed, Unicron might finally have a chance here. If by chance I make it on set again I will keep my ears open.

Actually they could have gotten MORE vague by just saying an Ancient Transformer, or Powerful Transformer. lol

$5 says its not unicron, but unicron could be something like Galactus in Fantastic 4.....Really lame cloud in space and a "Herald" of unicron is the actual enemy. Has to be something Optimus can actually fight so he can rip his head off or blow his brain unit out you now.

Galvatron, Overlord, Bludgeon? I would guess one of these 3 will be the main bad guy.

What's the fascination with ancient dudes? Can't we have some young fellas as bad guys? Did all the Transformers fail history class or something?

I think they could pull of a version of the Quints better than Unicron.

I am hoping it is NOT Unicron also. I dont think Bay can do this one right and we will see a Rise of the Silver Surfer style Unicron and that will kill it for me :-(

Breaking news: Unicron will be a gas cloud two feet in diameter who the rest of the characters call a living fart.

Dont get me wrong. I rather enjoyed all 3 movies. Unlike others Revenge of the fallen is my fav of the 3. My only issue with them was how he misrepresented some characters.

As long as Unicron brings along his palls Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge I don't necessarily care if they pull off Unicron or not (although it would be nice). Bay's films always fall short some way or other. I'm sure this one will as well. I'm also sure I'll see it in theaters multiple times then buy the dvd and watch the fights over and over thousands of times while never watching the rest of the film ever again.

Maybe the twins return, embittered by being cut out of DOTM, bent on spilling Michael Bay's blood. It'll be up to Wheelie and the Mountain Dew bot to save Bay in a thrilling chase through the sets of the new movie he's making.

I'd watch it if they brutally killed Bay in the end. One grabs his legs and the other grabs his arms...

I hope it's not Unicron... they still have 2 more movies after #4. They can't/shouldn't use up all their ammo so fast. I'm hoping for Galvatron or someone else...

Now that the Allspark and the Matrix are gone, and all the Autobots and Decepticons have left the planet, why would other "ancient transformers" still be coming to earth?

Battle between good and evil? Maybe it's a battle the autobots with decepticons in Megiddo?

I doubt they'd bring in Unicron. I kind of felt there was a slight homage to him at the end of DOTM, when Cybertron was pulled back through the portal, giving it a sunken in donut look that almost reminded me of Unicron.

I'm pretty much thinking it'll be Galvatron, and they'll claim he's Megatron's brother whose been searching the universe, but upon finding out that his brother was killed at the hands of a Prime, vows to avenge him.

The setup almost reminds me of that setup at the beginning of IDW's first Transformers comic way-back-when, where the Transformers seemed to have disappeared as well.

One has to wonder how many more super-peeved government types we'll have, because in a Bay film, every other person in the government is just peeved at giant robots.

Personally, I wish Tyrese would come back. I know word has been that Lennox may, but Tyrese to me really seemed to be the guy who seemed to give his role that extra 20% of care. Then again, he is a fan of Transformers.

I don't know about the rest of you, but all this means to me is that the first two waves of figures are already in the development stage. Given the turn around time is about two years from concept to shelves, I'm alright with that!

I give it five minutes until Michael Bay posts on his site that this is all untrue.

Seriously though, meh. Another old bastard causing trouble. That's only been 2/3 of the movie plots so far- and of the franchise to date, actually. Transformers seems to suffer from that particular storytelling disease more so than the rest of Western fiction, which is already pretty obsessed with oldness at the best of times.
Personally, I think it has to do with cultures like the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians, building great structures and monoliths that stand to this day. Which is nice, but Science Fiction should be focused on the present and the future. At least they haven't mentioned a prophecy. Yet.

Deathsaurus or GTFO. And ain't that just typical that the transformer would want Earth, I swear all Transformers and their stuff they throw into space have a planet Earth fetish.

So, basically we've got a MECH-esque group building robots or doing something with alien robot gadgets and some big ass powerful dude who's just found Earth. I really hope it isn't Unicron. I'd prefer it were someone along the lines of Overlord or Galvatron, preferably the former.

I doubt it.

Revenge maybe? Someone's pissed off that Megatron's been offed yet again by the Autobots and so plans to take out his anger on Earth and humanity.

Or, maybe they've got some means of converting Earth's fuels to Energon? We probably won't find out until summer next year.

I hope this ancient powerful menace is more powerful and menacing than the last ancient powerful menace.

This does not bode well- humans seem to be front and center, which I think bothers me more than I wanted it to. I'll see it of course, but I wanted more robot-on-robot action. You heard me.

Don't get your hopes up for Unicron just yet. Knowing Bay's universe, it could be anyone, even a new character maybe.

And it'll end with Prime eviscerating his face in some way.

Hoping its Galvatron or Overlord. Happy the rumors are starting to circulate. It was always fun to read them and speculate before the movie is actually released.

Sounds interesting so far. Humans dabbling in shit they shouldn't and getting themselves in trouble, Autobots to the rescue and ancient bad guy attacks.

The only thing that makes me wary of these kinds of spoilers so early is that, even if Bay himself belives this to be set in stone, things could happen and change it.

My money is on this ---^ But probably this:
I have a strong feeling those involved in the movie stuff read boards like this, so if they see Unicron overwhelmingly mentioned they may gently guide the plot away from him and insert some other name or character but in a similar capacity. Hoping they do!

And interesting if humans start going all Prime Cyrus/Breakdown and try to create their own TF bodies.

Personally I'd rather the big bad for movie 4 be someone completely out of left field, as a way to re-introduce Megatron somehow. Could be a Galvatron-like threat that eventually becomes Megatron again (or the reverse), which I'd be fine with, but I think if they're setting things up for a new threequel they won't try to bring Megs back in the first of the new movies.

In light of the fact that Hasbro cancelled Beast Hunters, I'm wondering if Predaking might make it to the big screen since he was described as an ancient force in Beast Hunters.
