Michael Bay Official Website has confirmed the previously rumored new Vehicle Mode of Bumblebee for Transformers 4.
“Bumblebee as a highly modified, vintage 1967 Camaro SS.”So, Instagramer rezzieboi was correct after all. Does this mean he’s also correct on the fact he tagged the rusty truck as a Dinobot?
Rotoraptor
Not really.
He has no legal claim to modifications he made on another person's car.
He did not design the car from scratch, thus he has no more claim to it than I do.
If I decided to custom-dye a pair of Nike's that doesn't suddenly mean I own their design…. That still belongs to Nike. This situation is no different
Should they give him credit if they "copied" his modifications?
Sure. Is he OWEd anything? Absolutely not.
SPLIT LIP
Even if it was just to say "Hey, you're car is so awesome we're gonna use the same mods for our car." Or something.
RedAlert Rescue
Mr. V Camero reminds me Mad Max's car a bit due to the all black paint.
I 'slightly' Prefer bee overall as the extra colour helps But I like V's tail and nose spoiler a wee bit better.
They are similar looking but it's hard to tell as Bee's photographed to look longer and leaner.
If they copied the "new" body panels and they are not something you can order then that would be rather cheeky for sure copying them so precisely.
That said as someone who has very little with the mod scene I can see how most of this would fly over most people's heads completely.
Besides you could accuse Transformers 2007 of copying the Hummer Mods used to make Ratchet too.
Rotoraptor
All complaints aside, this will be the first movieverse line since I started collecting again. I've picked up a few of the tail-end of DOTM figures, but having missed out on the first waves, it was pretty slim pickins.
I look forward to a toy version of this 'bee.
Rodimus Prime
Or better yet, we get a repaint/new head as Rodimus. Even if he wasn't in the movie, that'd be AWESOME.
sladeprime
gotta wait for the movie..the production knows better..and by the way most bumblebees are black…
smkspy
I'm so apathetic to the movies now, eh, whatever.

I doubt many people are going to say he copied Bumblebee. His doesn't have the yellow parts like BB has. Unless they really study BB, the majority of people won't notice all the customized parts on them. If they make any comparisons, it will be because it is the same model of car. The car's coloring is pretty important for most for saying its a copy.
I know nothing about customizing cars. Are those modifications unique to that guys car (& now BB) or are there tons of other cars out there with them.
transformervic1
Well, crap. The production team might as well give this guy credit in the credits, despite what "little" good it'll do.
Digilaut
Ouch! That's really, really terrible. No way about it, they clearly copied it.
I feel bad for the guy, I really do. Like he says, he's not going to sue, because he's not out for the money – but it took him seven years to build the car as a tribute to his father…and now a copy of that car will be used in a huge movie – and after this people will think his car is a Bumblebee copy, and other people are probably going to copy the car as well.
He's totally right…it's downright hurtful to see, and frankly: the movie production team should have researched this better.
I don't think there's anything to be done about it at this point, unless they're going to halt movie production and build a new Bumblebee – but I'm sure they won't/can't as that would be very costly for each and every party involved with this production, from distributor to actors to Hasbro themselves.
Maybe they can put a big acknowledgement in the credits where this guy is credited for the inspiration? That's not really a remedy though..starting summer 2014, this guy's father's legacy will be tainted.
I remember seeing the ice cream truck altmode from ROTF, I thought it looked really nice. Then I found out from the making of that the paintjob/stickers were directly lifted from an image found on google, namely this one : File:Ice Cream Truck Sydney Australia.jpg – Wikimedia Commons
I was…less enthusiastic about it after that, because apparently the designers really do just minimal research.
This will always be a tricky thing: when you're customizing a product, does that mean (since you don't own that product's rights and can't make copyright claims) your custom is free for anyone to just copy? Many people seem to think so – I actually think there's laws that state you can't when it's just a one-off thing. But however way you want to approach this: the production team should have contacted Mr. Vengeance, no excuses.

Am I the only one that is alarmed by the fact that the rumor about a rusty truck being a Dinobot. I loved the first 3 movies, But if thats the case then Bay has totally Bastardized the whole franchise. yes the eyebrow has been raised…. stay tuned!
Stepper
Now this new Camaro does not comes with any stripes.
Primal Sabbath
Has Mark's character's name been revealed?
Bumblethumper
seems fairly clear-cut. All the details on his custom were so specific and tasteful.
I'm not surprised really, if I was trying to come up with a new altmode, I'm sure the first thing I'd do is throw up a few google image searches to get a starting point. Of course that should only be the starting point; there are so many ways to branch out and give the thing its own distinct identity.

It might be Sam is tired of Transformers franchise but will like to see him back.

A story on Jalopnik is claiming that the production ripped off the design of Bumblebee:
http://jalopnik.com/did-transformers-4-rip-off-this-guys-design-for-the-ne-510655228
The designs are quite similar. But as a car guy, it's hard to find something that HASN'T been done to a 67 Camaro.
Nightrain
Sam is busy raising Daniel. You know that's coming.
wheeljack359
That was my mistake, I quoted you and then I guess somehow messed up my messege. so it quoted me as you. Im not sure how but I saw it too and was like
I do have to say the older camaro Bee is more "bad ass" than the new Camaro represents.
on many levels the older Camaro is less refined ( in a good way) and more just raw power as opposed to limited slip diffs and traction control and all the stuff that helped remove that "feel the road" way driving used to be. . Maybe this bee Is more Bad ASS!
neevnav
I would imagine so. They did touch upon Mikaela leaving. Likely something to do with re-location, either because of Carly or the government.
DrLee
Will we ever know why Sam is 'gone'?
