Dark knight rises length transformers movie. AMAZING!!!

My last post of today before I'm outta here: Awesome! I hope this movie takes a looong time to get to the end.
Rogzilla
Really? That's too long, I've got shit to do!
Scorpio
Pretty sure this has been confirmed already several times... my cinema's had the listing as that for ages >.>

Ah well, 2 hours 44 minutes is too long for me to sit in a cinema with a bunch of pre-teen football fans, so definitely checking it online first to make sure its worth watching.
DHull47
Even longer? Hell yes! I hope it doesn't fly in too fast. Want it to last forever! I guess I'll be seeing it again the next showing anyways, lol.
TeeKay
Well I reported this earlier this week. Guess it was legit after all.
The Ramjet
I'm just happy that none of that runtime will consist of Shia running around squealing like a hyperactive pig while doing something mundane.
transformervic1
Dayumn. The pacing had BETTER be on point, and not go like DOTM's slow/boring pacing.
provocateur
So 150 mins for the actual movie and 14 minutes for the credits?

Looks like Tucci and Reynor will try their best to fill his role
ironguymanpie
I'm guessing its more like 2 hr 35 min of film and 10 minutes of credits ( including end credits scenes)

This is what I'm wondering, too. Did they extend running time again or is this with credits as well?

I think there will be an after credits scene.

Yeah, when Bay said that 127 minutes was the running time he was aiming for, I was like "Yeah, good luck with that."

Back then, I was expecting no more than 140 minutes though. Turns out I was close to 25 minutes off.

i love how long this movie is.. hopefully there's still a decent amount of robot time.

plus.. we also have to factor in the fact that we're going to be introduced to an entirely new human cast.

i'm excited.. at least it's not 90 minutes.. i'll feel like i'm getting my money's worth.
ironguymanpie
Also with nearly all military gone from this movie, that gives more funding to robot cgi( hopefully)

It would suck even more if you have to poop during an action scene or an important scene
Livingdeaddan
Wow, that's long. I hope they use the time well this time. A films only too long if it feels to long. If that makes sense!

I think I'd better not give my son anything to drink for about 6 hours before and throughout the movie!!

As much as i'm ok with the long runtime, its gonna be a problem for general audience. People may enjoy a certain movie but when a movie feels long n dragging, they may have negative reaction to the movie even if they enjoyed it.

I just hope it doesn't feel like a long movie with minimal dragging n boring scenes. When i watched Wolf of Wall Street, even though it was 3 hours long, it went so fast, it felt like a 2 hour movie.

Agreed.
Can this movie use it's running time wisely and focus on storytelling and great characterizations? We'll soon know if so.

just because there is 2 jets flying towards the ship doesnt mean there is a lot of military!!

what if they are human made transformers?

plus there wasnt many military people on set. and the reason why AOE is the cheapest is because they didnt spend money on the military.

ANYWAY, if there was an alien invasion... im 100% sure the military would do something about it.

Ghost of starscream, hopefully ( based on his new KREO dino-rider figure) 1 can hope.

Don't sites like this normally reveal if the film has an after credits scene?

I know, however it means likely military involvement rather than it being Starscream

The reason why AOE is cheapest is because of many things - however their has been military presence shown in Hong Kong and the presumed 'end movie' scene.

Yes I hope you enjoyed all the CGI!

You saw all of it in the 22 trailers they have released for the movie.

Do people expect the military to standby while a huge ship in the sky.

Yikes. If it feels like 3 hours then I will never hear the end of it from my wife.

Hopefully it means time to make a good story along with amazing robot scenes.

If she's not going just tell her that the CGI was soo real the Transformers were brawling in the audience
Krueger
Sorry, but that's too long. Does Michael Bay know what editing is? No way a film like this should be pushing three hours. Ludicrous.

Great. I'm more concerned about the use of foul language, as younger K-6 grade kids are stoked to watch this and knowing most of the AoE toy lines are geared towards them I know this movie is a contradiction of that aspect, more than likely appropriate for teens and up.

My 5 year old is super excited to see this, but as a parent I dread Michael Bay's cinematic "sensibilities" for young audiences.

The Pretender bot in RotF, Simmons' privates in RotF, Carly's rear end close up, the half dozen or so F bombs, etc... ugh. Call me old fashioned I guess. I don't enjoy that scrap and don't want my son exposed to it at his age.

I understand what you're saying perfectly. I mean if I had kids I would feel the same exact way. These are Transformers movies for crying out loud and Bay loves to blast them with profanity.

Hopefully we don't get more of this...

I'll call you old-fashioned! I don't think some naughty words or sexy butts are enough to ruin your kid, bud. First of all, your kid will not notice that crap: he'll be watching giant f*cking dinosaurs destroy stuff!
Second of all, there's a phrase called "media literacy" - it means talking to your kid about what they see on TV and explaining what's appropriate. That's waaaaaaay more important than him being exposed to a Bay movie. Look, he's gonna be exposed anyway, and I don't think Bay is particularly harmful to children (other than some very bad masturbation jokes).

I'm more concerned about the run time. My 3 yr old will definitely lose his mind if he has to sit through long, slow scenes with no robots in it... I call that "f*cking about". These movies have a lot of FA, cause they have to save on animation, etc. But at 2:45 hrs??? Could be some epic FA that will bore kids to tears... but I'm thinking this is an afternoon plan with lots of breaks in and out of theater.... I guess.

No offense to you (because I also approve of your sentiments and support to the other guy), but if you're not a parent, zip it? I'm a little tired of this "empathy" from members who like to speak for women or talk about virtual children, etc. It's hard to explain, but IMAGINING what it's like to have children is not the same as actually HAVING children. "If I went to a store and saw these toys, my kid would also be.... blah, blah, blah." It's great to hear when you have kids, but saying you're against something because you feel assured a future you would say the same thing? Ehhhh....
You'll see what I mean, one day.

Nope. You don't know me or my kid. I'm not your bud and you have no place to tell me what is ok or not for my kid. Drop the high horse condescending attitude and park your ego elsewhere. Not appreciated. Of course I'm going to talk to my boy about what to expect because I know what's coming with this Bay scrap. You don't think we've been around this block? Movie number 4, man. My boy is old enough to recognize foul language and good vs bad behavior. He knows what is appropriate for his mind to be exposed to because I've taken the time to educate him.

Can't change what Bay gives us, can only sigh and prepare for it because I am going to watch it for what you said: the robots. The whole tone of my post was intended to express my loathing for another dose of Bay scrap drenched over pretty slick robot fighting action.

My point is that Bay is tone deaf when it comes to the younger kids whose whole point of these movies is to sell toys to said children. As this whole franchise is supposed to make movies and shows to sell their toys to kids, then make the movies appropriate for kids with clean messages. Take it or leave it. Fun chatting with you.

The last three movies didnt even show a quarter of the cgi in the trailers, why should this be any different

This movie only has brief innuendo, and some minor cursing like: Hell, Damn, and maybe, just maybe fu**. But you're exaggerating there, DOTM only had one f bomb, not half a dozen. And you won't have to worry about kids seeing bad stuff.

Actually in DotM there was one full F bomb, and 3 other "half" F bombs.

In RotF there is one I know for sure when Megan Fox screams out for the military to "F***ing do something!" After Sam gets blasted by Megatron. Not sure of any other half F bombs... I was generalizing how many there are.

I'd just prefer to not have any at all. It isn't necessary. Close ups of Man butt, girl butt, wheelie humping, Freshman 55, 5 foot tongues, innuendo... why??? Nothing to do with Transformers at all. Anyways... it is what it is.

Dear god in heaven why is it so long.
