Transformers 4 Age of Extinction New Dinobot Image

An image from a recent trade show reposted on JoBlo has revealed something cool - and ever so slightly spoilerish - for Transformers 4 Age of Extinction. The image shows off a bit of artwork featuring a mechanical dinosaur - one of the Dinobots, "Ivan" also known as Grimlock. But that's not all. Look a little closer if you do not mind being spoiled, and you'll see a sword and shield wielding Optimus Prime riding on Grimlock.

If this piece of artwork - which we imagine might be for the toyline, possibly a Toys R Us or Target display - translates into the film itself, it will be an awesome and draw dropping battle spectacle.

Just saw that on Facebook and thought I'd post it up. I'm beginning to think that the Dinobots aren't going to have bot modes though.

That's awesomely wicked!

Good golly is Grimlock huge! Though if I have to nitpick his feet look way too small to carry something that massive but then again it may be finished yet so he may have larger toes.

Oo 'eck, Grimlock's a big bastard.

The silver/gold colour-scheme looks pretty.
TacticalBacon
Mechafire,

Like I said in the other thread, this is awesomely wicked!
Spiderus Prime
Grimlock looks awesome, and still had Prime rides Him like Mario/Yoshi.

Grimlock's T-rex mode is amazing looking, he is going to be one huge robot compare to Optimus Prime.
Ryan101
He's huge! I like Grimlock's colors too.
Lbsammills51
Damn, Grimlock's huge! I like the design and color scheme.
Zildjian
So corny.... Grimlock looks nice, but to clean and non-battle worn for my liking.

He'll be plenty battle worn in the movie.

This is just the promotional render stuff, that will be on licensed merchandise and all that. There are clean renders of Optimus and Bumblebee that were on posters, this is the same as that.
Godziboy1993
Really hope Im able to replicate this in toy form.
tonyformer
Keep in mind this is still a very cartooned look and looks to be something you would see on the floor in the toy isle at toys r us.

More to come.
fathi_haziq
I know this has nothing to do with OP or Grimlock but that picture instantly reminded me of this scene from G1.
SamNickelson
It looks like Grim is 3-4 times Optimus' height in length. Assuming Optimus is still 28 feet and calling Grim a fair 3.5 times bigger than OP, Grim would be 98 feet long... I love it.

Don't care, best Grimlock ever!
holtvillan82
Wow. I'm genuinely lost for words. I can say one thing though- I cannot wait to see this scene and the Dinobots in action.

He is still Cybertronian so I can see how he would be much larger than our earth T-Rexs lol. If he is this big in the movie imagin how big the others can be :0

Liege Prime
Ok see that's the thing. In Transformers 2007, we saw stuff like a jet transforming mid air and destroying other jets it was flying with. In ROTF, we got to see crazy flying Prime rip out an evil guys robo heart and saw a giant conglomeration of construction vehicles climb a pyramid. In DOTM, we saw a giant drill worm tear down a building and robots going to the moon. Now, we get a giant metal dinosaur being ridden by robo Jesus.

Screw the critics- I'm guessing most academy award winning movies don't have any of these things.
toaprime
So this Grimlock is how short compared to ROTF Devastator? I would love to see those two fight!
Astrocon
AWESOME!.
Not too Bayverse, not too bony!
I love Grimlock's alt mode!

The only thing.. is way too big!
doomtron
Me like big grimlock
Fanatic97
Frag yeah!
Soundwavedotm
Interesting very possible? Only time will tell........
Josh
haha thats awesome xD
netkid
He's even got two front toes like the original! Neato!

And yes, he is HUGE. It's no wonder we are getting a few toys with little Primes that can ride him. I wonder if the Leader Class Grimlock is big, which would explain why the Leader Prime is small, so he can be ridden.

Can someone run the image through this program to clear up the blurryness?

Don't worry, they do. Besides, do you think they would make a leader Grimlock and it can't transform?
Niv3k
Just..... so.... epic!!!

Optimus is 48 foot, this new version looks to be taller about 53.

So take that and compare his size with Grimlock here...

over 100 foot Robo-t-rex..

Fuck yes

Remember this is very likely concept renders and the actual CGI will probably be more battle warn and better looking.
Ceerad
Hmmm... now where have I seen that design before.....oh yeah, now I remember...
It's 1998 Mechagodzilla!!!

davidargile
I cannot wait to see him in live action it will be excellent, carnage will be done by the dinobots in this film for sure now, I wonder how big his robot form is next to prime and the other bots?
