Here’s another little bit of on-set filming for you today – a very heavily blue truck was seen at a stunt shoot on Cline Avenue in Whiting, Indiana. The all-blue truck will probably not make it into the final version of the film, as it is likely being used as a CGI reference plate for something to be added in post production. The question is, what? For now, while you speculate, check out some footage courtesy of Youtube user drinkmilkraw showing the stunt sequence for a little bit of “work in progress” work on what looks like an action-packed battle or chase sequence.

I feel bad for her….
On the bright side, IN TE VIDEO ^ you could see Bumble Bee and the Ferrari were on set (possably Sideswipe too..idk) SO that might mean that they are going to have them fight "Blue Evil Truck" on the Freeway!
i dont think the CGI truck is going to get replaced with the cement truck because then they would need a blue trailer behind the CGI truck and the trucks are differnet shapes…well thats my opinion at least.
Yurre
I think this is the case!

Hi!!!
I have found a interesting Video:
YouTube – Exclusive Video Of The 'Transformers 3' Stunt That Left An Extra In Coma
We're seeing a video of that terrible accident on the set of Transformers 3 in which a female extra was badly injured. I wish the best for this Woman.
Back to the Blue truck: Look at 0:22. You can see a expolsion, but not the "Blue Stunt truck", you can see only the "cement truck" as the first car. What do you think about this scene??? Maybe I am wrong but my theory is: "Blue Stunt truck" will be replaced later with the "cement truck"???

Why is this thread so popular? Its just a blue cgi truck, big woop.
Weremole
Yeah. The blue SFX truck is all chromakeyed up. Which means it can be removed and replaced with anything.
Like say… Megatron in tank mode (or something of similar size) rampaging through a highway sending cars flying.
jamjam101
He was referring to the Firetruck. At that time no one knew of this blue truck.
jamjam101
So you realize that the wheels are blue as well…I'm going to stick with the theory that its going to be CG work
Jolt Customs
agreed but i really do think its Motor Master

The biggest problem with this idea is that the blue and chrome truck has things on it that Prime does not. The most noticeable being the huge Peterbuilt logo on the grill. CGI is VERY expensive and incredibly time consuming. If they are going to CGI something onto they use either a flat blue or a flat green, NOT a shiny blue. Most likely, that truck was either passing by, or it's a support vehicle of some sort.

i doubt it is an autobot because its blowing up innocent civilian cars… so i guess Ultra Magnus isn't…I'm smellin' Motormaster.
BUT i don't think he will be fighting Optimus because that would be just like the 1st movie Bonecrusher vs Optimus.

I reckon the blue truck with the chrome and the trailer is gonna be prime. The paint and his flames will be cg'ed in later. Dont ask me why they didnt just use the real prime truck and trailer for the stunt, maybe its too valuable or they couldnt transport one to the freeway set because they are already using it in the Chicago shoot or something.
Anyway i reckon the blue truck with the chrome is him because its the same type of truck (peterbilt 379) and his flames will be painted in later and the trailer will be cgi too (the tanker-like trailer you see is likely just a ref point).
The pure blue truck that smashes through the cars will be some new character i reckon, fully cg so it'll probably transform on the freeway or something, otherwise they wouldnt need such a big cgi referance vehicle.
Either that OR its not a truck-based character at all and might even be megatron or someone with a non earth alt mode.
The truck is just used to create the practical effect of smashing through real cars and has no other connection to the film what so ever. Its just a cgi referance vehicle.
So imagine the scene with the pure blue truck, they can take the truck out of the scene entirely in cg, then add in whoever or whatever they want over it.

The only explanation I can come with from Nelson's vague post is…
"It's gonna be like when people saw Optimus Prime for the first time–with flames."
Probably been thought of already but is it possible the firetruck is Rodimus–without flames?
God knows who the CGI blue truck is yet… If its Motormaster or Magnus I don't even wanna know, more surprise for me when I'm sitting in the cinema!
adamgx03
yesss.. I would think its funny if its true. Nelson from the SFTE forum
"I think fandom will faint when they find out who this firetruck is.
It's gonna be like when people saw Optimus Prime for the first time–with flames.
I really hope they don't reveal the name until the movie premieres."
optimal rodimus
real blue rig might possibly be ultra magnus but i think bay would give him a better trailer like a super advanced car carrier,or motormaster since cars are being blown off the road.just thought i would mention that optimus wasn't always a rig he was a fire truck in one of the toons cant remember?but if you watch the youtube vids the firetruck showed up after prime did with his trailer, the vids show all the autobots besides prime after the firetruck showed up,so my idea is the firetruck is primes new form and the tractor trailer form was coruppted somehow and ratchet had to transfer primes spark.blue truck is definitaly for cgi, real blue truck w chrome ? for now hope it is magnus
garibaldiprime
Its Barricade.
fatesmagic
I say Motormaster or Ultra Magnus. Prime can't reformat to a firetruck, because his current alt. mode was seen during filming i Chicago, which is at the end of the movie.
ColdRod
Its Jazz
Autovolt 127
It's either Ultra Magnus, Sentinel Prime or Soundwave.
adamgx03
Haha maybe "the blue truck" is Shockwave impersonating Optimus Prime and then Optimus reformats to the Firetruck.
