If true, this has to be in the top 5 worst alt modes for Megatron.

Awesome. I think it would be a creative twist to have Megs meet Prime on his own terms.

Prime + trailer vs Megs + trailer puts the robot action on the same scale and the road action on equal footing.

I'm hoping that's not the case and it's just a new big 'con. I actually really liked Megs last design in both bot and alt modes, it worked well for him being more or less a flying tank. Plus if he keeps the same alt mode, it greatly increases our chances of finally getting a super awesome, super accurate leader scale toy of him. When they have a new Alt mode to work with they have less time and reference material to work with when designing the toy. But much like how RotF Prime was an upgrade over '07 Prime, if Megs kept his Rotf Alt Mode and Design, the TF3 toy would have had the chance to be far superior to their previous efforts.

I'm holding out hope this isn't true...but there's a good chance it totally is

But the blue truck we saw on that freeway video isn't the same as the tanker truck. IIRC the tanker truck wasn't on the set for that scene, either.

I highly doubt that he will take the form of a rusted up tank truck, but then again he was a tank in the second movie. Only reason I don't see this happening is for the Leader Toy they will have to make for him. They should definitely give him some real hands though in the next movie as well as for the toy.

WHO KNOWS!!! I mean, he did get his ass kicked in the last film.....maybe he was unrepairable.......but the way these movies have gone so far...nothing would surprise me.

A little lame imo if both Prime & Megs are semi trucks, but if it means Megs finally getting an Earth alt mode, I'm all for it. I've gotten VERY sick & tired of this whole "Megatron is too bad ass to worry about hiding from anyone" schtick since all it's meant is absolutely retarded alien alt modes that don't look like anything and haven't required any clever transformation engineering. This would at least take a little more effort than just throwing some wings or treads on on some indiscernible object.

The thing is megs leader toy just sat on the shelf like forever....if its indeed megs now hasbro becomes super lazy and just use primes mold twice.....the fact everyone kknows what megs look like now, why not hide...remember they want the autobots gone from earth...it could be a disguise for megs to fram optimus

No way. That makes... minimal sense to me. It would fly in the face of Megs' revulsion at human vehicles, it would go against the fact that he was some kind of weird.... space-thing in the first two movies. And... even if he did pick and earth mode, out of all the things Megatron would choose to turn into, you'd think a truck would be low on his list.

We'll see, but I doubt this.
Let's say the source is reliable even, that doesn't mean that the information on SET is going to be honest. If I was Bay, I'd have them scramble the call sheets so that a leaked call sheet wouldn't spoil the names, and so that even crew didn't really know the names of characters for sure until the movie was finished.

Hum, an unusual but still pretty interesting choice if it's true.

I kind of wonder though if his robot mode would still have his BFG because there is just something off about the character when he doesn't have some sort of arm canon.

I call nonsense, It's either Octane or Scourge. The only scenario in which Megs would be an armageddonesque tanker truck would be if he was destroyed and rebuilt by Isaac Sumdac. Not gonna happen.

I hope it's true. I've been hoping Megatron would get an Earth mode, and that wicked-looking fuel truck as a kind of anti-Optimus alt. mode would be awesome.

He's not doing a very good job of it though.

I keep trying to look for where a giant gun would hide on that alt mode. I like this one better.
