Transformers 3 Character Description – Hardcore Eddie

Posted on 09-01-2010 at 07:40 AM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
Hardcore-Eddie
We have with us the look at an upcoming Human Character from the 3rd Transformers Movie thanks to an exclusive interview by moviemikes.com.

Hardcore Eddie; we all know him as someone who’s rumored to bring an end to a certain Cybertronian we all know and love in Transformers 3.

If you want to know exactly who this Hardcore Eddie is, all you have to do is to read on.

"Tell us about your role in the upcoming “Transformers 3″?

Lester Speight : I am not sure if you know but “Transformers 3″ has just eclipsed “Titanic” as the largest budgeted film ever. $400 million and still going north! We are totally taking over downtown Chicago. The city is buzzing and it is crazy around here. I play Hardcore Eddie. Tyrese’s character Robert Epps calls me in. I was in a war with his father. I always told his dad I would look out for him and watch his back. I am doing all the heavy shooting, rocket launchers and kicking ass. Hardcore Eddie is old school soldier who has seen it all and done it all. I am just kicking ass and blowing up shit. Michael (Bay) just created such a great character."

$400 Millon budget??? Man, we better be in for some serious robot screentime.
Harbinger
Thanks Micheal Bay, first the twins and now you make up Hardcore Eddie. though Hardcore Eddie will add extra explosions to the explosions, so i cant see Bay being unhappy with that.

Sounds like TF:3 is going out with a "bang". It's hard staying away from spoilers this time around....

Hardcore Eddie, shows lack of creativity to make up a nickname that bad! Coletrain respect though.
Liselotte
dam, $400M is alot! i think we're gonna get more robots screentime or heavy CGI environment and/or 3D.

With our luck it will probably be a CGI scene on Cybertron. I seem to remember it cost about 30 Million for the flashback scene on Cybertron (In the first film) where Megatron is standing above the corpses.
springerbee
$400M??? That's gotta be the highest budget in the history of cinema! Let's hope the movie makes way more than that at the box office...

BTW, how about some description on the robot characters?

Also, there's no way Starscream will get killed by a human. No way. Make him get killed by Hot Rod or something, but no humans allowed.
DecepticonSpike
So Hardcore Eddie is pretty much Roadblock from G.I.Joe, but without the rhyming?

Because the Humans will be the stars of the movie like the first 2 films.

Exactly what came to my mind... Roadblock. Bay is the best director to do G. I. Joe!
Superquad7
Hopefully we'll get a good story somewhere out of that $400 Million. I'm still excited to see what we end up with though

@ "Hardcore Eddie"

Hopefully he'll have better lines than Epps.

$400M budget!?!? Holy shit...

Who the f**k is Eddie and why is he so hardcore?
Chaos Prime
Oh cool, another human character nobodies going to care about...

It sounds like Roadblock to me and I know some people feel the same way after reading the description about Hardcore Eddie.

What? That 10 second sequence with Prime talking over it? I find that very hard to believe, where did you hear that?

I pray that 400 Million isn't just lining the pockets of talentless "actors" and drunken cameramen. How about some steady camerawork and more robot fights this time? There was a good 40 minute section of ROTF (following the forest scene) where I nearly fell asleep in the cinema.
Ktulu
Here's hoping we get a spin-off series showcasing the full background of Hardcore Eddie. It sounds quite deep and riveting.

HARDCORE EDDIE IS TERRY TATE!!!! You don't remember those old football commercials from a few years ago?!!! You Tube "Terry Tate" (Watch all of the videos!!)

That kind of budget may have to do the level of 3D CG involved.

In before someone wants Hardcore eddie as a human alliace figure

The film is gonna blow. If TF2 was horrible , this will be worse. Tf1 was good thou.
prime326
$400 Million dollar budget. I find that a little hard to believe that Paramount would greenlight a movie for that much no matter what franchise. Even Avatar didn't cost that much before marketing and such. I don't buy it at all. That would mean that Paramount is expecting TF3 to make at least $800 million worldwide just to breakeven on production costs.

Heh. This all makes it sound more likely that he actually kills Starscream.

I was just about to say Michael Bay has a brilliant track record when it comes to creating characters, doesn't he?

Seriously... Hardcore Eddie? Really?

Michael (Bay) just created such a great character.
That kind of made me Laugh Out Loud.

Overall, I don't really care. But given the character's base description, that just made me laugh.

Maybe he can be packaged with Human Alliance Starscream?

Also I'm willing to bet this guy will have more lines than all the Decepticons (besides Megatron) combined. And double that amount for each comedic relief character.

Please, the only thing Michael Bay did was cast "Terry Tate" and gave him a new name. I'm sure Michael will allow him to be himself, this man is all kinds of awesome.

The name "Hardcore Eddie" sounds like someone that would rape you in jail.
optimus_tractor
And that's more characterization than we'll EVER get with any of the robots within the movie.

So that's how Starscream dies...Hardcore Eddie is a bit rough.

I know all the TF2 hate, and the Bay hate.. a Veteran who has done countless tours, seen the shit, been in the shit, made a promise to his best friend [who is probably dead, because that ads depth], and then retired.. only to go back to war just to live up to his promise and protect his best friend's son. I think that sounds cool. I think it's even cooler he reminds me of Roadblock. Yo NEST!
Nerdicon
After watching Terry Tate I'm sold. And the name is cheesy enough to work for me. My Dad's air force nickname was schlep rock. His buddy was Booger. Another guy was moose. So "hardcore Eddie" sounds like something his buddies attached to him to make fun and he owned it. Makes perfect sense to me.
Ash from Carolina
In something like a GI Joe movie, an Aliens movie, or something like that the character of Hardcore Eddie would sound pretty cool. Given how we've already had too many cool humans at the expense of cool robots I can't say that I'm looking forward to yet another human to steal the thunder away from the Autobots being the heroes of the film. If I want kick ass humans there are plenty of movies for that but not many movies for kick ass robots.

I don't know Hardcore Eddie also sounds a bit too much like a porn name than an action movie name.

A $400 million budget. Either someone is a heck of a gambler or lacks any business sanity given all the competition next summer and having to convince people it's not going to be another Revenge of the Fallen.
RedAlert Rescue
I wonder how much of that 400 Million will actually be on Screen ?

Seems a bit silly to me to spend that much unless it's all on CGI the Human parts don't justify that - especially when they are not even going to the proper locations.

I've not heard anything to much exciting from the production unless there's some extensive Cybertronian scenes or Robot Character time it seems a bit sedate bit of Minor messing about and some explosions and a fist fight and nothing terribly interesting - the only bit is the novelty of blowing stuff up in the middle of a big city I suppose.

But the rest of the movie better be half decent to make up for such a dopey ending as the rumored on is supposed to be.

Anyway I like the actor mentioned above pretty much.

But i'm still waiting to be impressed on the production in general other than the eyebrow raising 400 million price tag.

So my status remains - Wait and see / Woo Hoo new toys.

That's kind of what it all comes down to. The TF films are full of all these great ideas and concepts that unfortunately get muddled with bad execution.
And the fact that it's Bay just makes it easier for most people to dismiss it all as a whole.

That's kind of why I'm a little worried TF: Prime will get a lot of flak for using any of the better concepts from the TF films, just because they're concepts that were in those "Bay movies."

I hear that. We better get a lot of Robot screentime. I don't give a shit about "Hardcore Eddie"....fuck the humans. I hope it's the other way around, and Starscream kills THIS fool.

That's way more jiggawatts than the flux capacitor needs. You'll have to scrape fried McFly out of the inside of the DeLorean with that big of a blast.

1.21 Jiggawatts!

This guy i s HUGE. I mean Tyrese is a big guy and this guy towers over him! He is going to kick some serious a$$!
Dinobot Nuva
All aboard the Cole-train! Can't wait to see him on the big screen.
Gingerchris
For what was originally going to be a realistic series of TF films this guy just sounds like a big cartoon character. I could almost see him in the old Mister T cartoon. Perhaps all the humans should have a descriptive prefix. Hyperactive Sam, Comedy Ass Simmons, Manly Man Lennox, Replacement Bint Carly, Tiresome Judy, and so on.
