Alienbot:
It's been announced in a Dolby press release for ShoWest, so there's no reason to doubt it.
Windcharger:
I think I just farted in my pants. Now to find a 3D theater in Austin.
nkelsch:
Awesome... Bay Explosions in 3D!
I have enjoyed pretty much every 3D movie I have seen in theaters.
Lupis Convoy:
IMAX anyone? Woo-Whoo! Hopefully there will be no obscenely forcefull 3-D effects like there have been in other movies. "Grr.. a spear right at the audience's face! A SPEAR!!!!" *coughBeowulfcough*
I know there was a shift being pushed from media moguls since 3D films seem to be the major pull ins and bringing in the most money lately.
Hopefully it will be a great movie that we can all enjoy, regardless of how it is presented, on the big screen or at home theatres.
RRavage:
Sooo, even with all these strikes, Shia getting arrested, and all manner of other stuff, we can still expect TF2 to be released next year?!
Ravenxl7:
Interesting. Hopefully I won't have to travel too far to see it, as I can't remember any theatre near me ever playing a 3D movie.
soundwaveCA:
Awesome! Will be interesting to see what this is like
shibamura_prime:
Okay, I'm an idiot and am too lazy to Google. What exactly is Dolby 3D? Was this the way Beowulf 3D was released in theaters?
DieMaus:
Hmm, this could be interesting; I for one really enjoyed the 3D experience of Beowulf, probably moreso than the actual film. Sure, there were a couple of gratuitous "OOH LOOK AT THE THING FLYING AT YOU" moments, but by and large I think it was used well, providing genuine depth of field; it was a real eye-opener to see the long dining hall genuinely stretching away from you, or to see characters running past in the foreground whilst a dragon flies past at the back. To see that kind of thing in Transformers 2 would be, in my view, pretty sweet...
Torque:
3D?? SLAG i dont like 3D movies-they a;ways overdo the 3D effects...
NIDARAM12:
Man 3d movies have got to be the most ridiculous film making craze. I don't know how anyone thinks a cheap gimmick like this is cool
SmokescreenGT:
Cool. Glad it's been confirmed.
Now, to find a theater near me that will show it in 3D.
eyeballkid:
I'm more interested in Avatar and Tintin. On a side note, is Peter Cullen returning?

Yup. IIRC, he signed a 3-movie deal.
Ironhide2005:
This is the greatest news I've ever heard on this movie transformers in 3-d WILL BE BAD A##!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I hope people realize you only need glasses too see it because there is no such thing as an "3-D theator" though there should be!

Personally, I think next year possible (depends how fast the strike is solved if it happens) - but June 2009? Not likely - *maybe* Aug 09 (swap w/ GI Joe); I see a T-giving/Xmas release much more likely.

That was a good one - added just enough to make it feel fresh, but not overdone. My mom (who has brain-chemistry issues that make movie FX difficult sometimes) was even able to enjoy it. Beowulf was pushing it for her (tho I did like the spear-at-face effect).
sixshot2K:
I dont thin it gunaa happen
panda:
ok so first bay bitches about having his hi def dvd avalible to only one format so not everyone can enjoy it now the 2nd in 3d , what about us who are no where near a 3d theater , why must we get the shaft
REDLINE:
it won't ONLY be in 3D man. no way.
Beastbot X:
Oh, SWEET. Just when you think TFs can't get any cooler...
AutobotJazz4:
This does sound like great news... but are there so many cinema's out there... and I mean world wide, that can play that sort of movies on the big screen?
What I'm even more interested in and would like to know, if they can find a way that we, the fans, can enjoy that type of movie.... in 3D that is, on our own home cinema systems. Now that would be something. Transformers in 3D on your own TV screen.
Dropshot:
I went to see The Order of the phoenix last year on Imax because my GF pushed me to. Honestly I didn't enjoyed the experience, it could be because we sat at the bottom of the theater and because I don't like HP. Anyway, I will probably be checking it in a regular theater first and then go to an Imax.

I'm thinking this is gonna be so dam cool.
Robogeek28:
Wow, I hate 3-D *sigh*.
Omegatron1:
Time to start prodding my theatre's upper management to get 3D systems in. I'd rather not have to drive 45 minutes and pay to see it in 3D, like I did for IMAX.
SmokescreenWRX:
I probably won't care much for SPEARFLYINGINTOFACEFX, but I am looking forward to the depth of field that you get with the Dolby3D effects. I'm so glad the red/blue plastic glasses days of 3D are over.
Skorpiya Nuka:
That's awesome. What would be even more awesome would to have both the first one and the second one in 3-D.
saberconvoy:
What wow
Man i hope its worth it.
Bryan.:
Oooh...
THIS IS A CONCEPT I SUPPORT.
