| Transformers 2 Movie Set Images - Chevy Malibu Police Car |
| Posted on 05-30-2008 at 07:32 PM by Tony_Bacala | Thanks to an anonymous email tip we now have new images from the Transformers 2 Movie set in Bethlehem PA.
In them we see some various shots of the steel mill being turned into a Chinese city with Chinese letter based signs, and a shot of a Chinese police car. The police car is a Chevy Malibu, slightly altered with the appropriate paint applications.
Whether or not the car seen will actually be a Transformer or not is unknown.

While it does seem like it could be Prowl, I'm not about to get my hopes up, since it could also just be a police car arriving to the scene of a giant robot battle.
unless the chinese on the side of the car says "Hi, I'm Prowl", then I'm sold.

Saw this and immediately thought of the KO Alt. Prowl Razerwire posted in the feedback forum.

G1 cues or homages on that car. There ARE cues and homages to every police car IN THE HISTORY OF POLICE CARS lol
No way in hell that is Prowl. GM would full on pimp a malibu if it were to be an autobot.

I believe Chinese police cars are usually white with a blue stripe curving downwards.

STOP KUP Yes when all you were looking and drooling over the police car i noticed a grey old run down pick up truck, they did mention a geriatric robot, and who's a grey pick up whos there kup. 1 shot of the back and a side shot of the back/left side partly obscured by the trees. With soundwave and ravage, kup and prowl we will be having a true fanboy wan*. Also with the human characters its looking more and more likely that the leaked script/early draft is real, so hot rod and magnus to come. Oh hell yess

Wait, let me guess. He's black and white, has a light bar, and is a police car. It's automatically Prowl right? Is that how the conclusion was made?
Here's what it looks like: a mis-painted, mis-represented Chinese Gong An police car. If it turns out to be Prowl, I don't agree with their choice. But as of this minute I'm calling it as I see it. Just a simple prop car to be used by the Chinese police.

I don't think he's "flashy" enough to be Prowl. The point of the Transformers being "real" cars was to sell them, right? That's why Barricade, Jazz, and Ironhide had all those flashy modifications. This is just a regular-looking Malibu with police deco. In this case I hope it's NOT Prowl. Because if he is, he looks like crap compared to Barricade and his Saleen hotness.

even from what i've been told, i just don't know enough to make a call. all we know is two blackhawks are heading toward the city/site and that another transformer (a vehicle, apparently) is going to be "hiding" there. whether the copters are searching for the transformer or searching for something else, i don't think anyone's been told. could it be a police car autobot? sure. could it be something else entirely? sure.

Lamborghini is part of the Volkswagen group. You're not going to see any Lamborghini cars, Audis, VWs, etc.
I wonder what the deal is here, though...that's clearly the new Malibu, which GM has a definite interest in promoting, so I'm thinking it's not a wrecker. On the other hand, police cars are more likely to be full-size cars (Impala, Crown Victoria/500/whatever Ford is calling it now, Charger) than mid-size cars. And while GM does have a presence in Asia (they own Daewoo, for one) I too find it doubtful that a police vehicle in PRC would be a Malibu.

If it is Prowl, this confirms the movie will be awesome for me.
If it is not, I am sincerely hoping it's Barricade's new alt-mode.
But if it is Prowl, I hope he's still the prick among the Autobots. Love to see him have a bad temper with Bumblebee and Sam.

I really think it is Prowl, who says the autobots have to land in the US. He could be the bot that crashes into the steel mill chasing a decepticon, he scans the first cop car on scene and the Con scans a helicopter.
