Man there is a lot of characters in this movie then! Between at least megs?, starscream, soundwave, the fallen and the constructicons/devastator, it's gonna be full of bad asses, hopefully they all get good screen time.

A demonic towering robot that's 50% flames and 50% badass, how could Michael Bay resist?!

The character roster so far is shaping up to be a good one.

Well now we know we're gonna get another Fallen toy, hope it's better than the Titanium one.

This is interesting news. Ever since I heard the title of the new movie I assumed that "The Fallen" was Megatron. I would wager that I was not alone in that thought.

I would disagree with that. I am very fond with the Titanium Fallen toy. Hasbro did a good job with it, and it's one of the high points of the Titanium line, in my opinion.

and the only thing i don't like about the fallen as a character is that pat lee had something to do with his creation. (i read this somewhere but i always hope i'm wrong)

Pat Lee did the design, but Furman concieved of the character I believe.

I figured as much. Since I heard the title for the flick announced I got the feeling this particular S.O.B. would be showing up. Can't wait to see his blackened chassis make an appearance.

Wow, I really hope this isn't true. You can't get more wrong than adding an obscure character and story attributes from two lines of comic books that went under because of poor sales. Hello?!

There are so many more well-known TF characters out there to use. Please, please, PLEASE let this be just a rumor.

I don't think using an obscure character like this is a bad idea. The very fact that this bloke is a bit of an unknown quanity give those making the flick a little latitude on how to handle him. Also Furman never got to use him like he wanted on the Dreamwave run do to that company going under. So it'll give Furman the chance to play with the Fallen more ,and flesh him out in the long run by getting the fans interest in the bloke.

I just don't get the Fallen being in it. He has no reason for revenge. As far as normal movie goes know he doesn't even exist. They are going to be like WTF who the hecks the fallen. Bad choice IMO.

I hope this franchise does not get as convoluted as P.O.T.C. became. We barely saw Op and Meg fight.

Unless The Fallen is Jetfire. And his revenge is him switching sides on the decepticons to the autobots, and nailing devastator after his dogfight with starscream.

How exactly was it phrased that the fallen is a 'new' character?
It should work onscreen pretty well due to the allspark's incapacitation etc. Vengence for his Exile would be my assumption, so he makes for a great stop gap filler while megs repairs himself and gets resurrected, while exposing the cybertronian cold war campaign starting to unfold on earth to the public more.

I wonder what the Fallen's alt will be. Maybe that's why Megs went tank(either stolen from the fallen, or more direct power to use on the fallen)? And did anyone else kinda realize that in most of the 2nd movies Orci and kurzman want to emulate had ended with major character twists or one of the supporting cast captured? Wonder if this movie ends with sam in decepticon hands. The new Sumdac? =3

The source is The TFW TF2 Insider, and we know he's legit. We won't go into any more details about him at this time. He also confirmed Devastator being in the movie and Jetfire being an Autobot.

i am JUST HOPING, this is not ANOTHER spiderman 3, where they cram waaay to many good charchters in a movie and sorta half ass them all

This is a lot of characters so i know many of them will be either taking a back seat or getting owned by the Fallen

I also hope it doesn't take long to explain who the Fallen is to everyone who doesn't know who he is Transformers brought in alot of first time viewers so hope they don't mess this up.

im hopin this version of the fallen is was better then the storey behind the WWV2....those books made me want to return them back to my comic shop...

no but seriously im looking forward to seeing how they will explore this character. hes got more freedom as he does not have a verry extensive history to live up to... so we may get a chance to see some new concepts!

Simon Furman and Chris Mowry seperately confirmed in two different interviews during SDCC that the 'Fallen' reference in the sequel's title indeed refers to a an actual character named The Fallen. Furman also said Movie Fallen was based off the comic book character he introduced in The War Within: The Dark Ages (and will likely play a role in Furman's upcoming The 13 comic book.

Michael Bay and Paramount brought a hammer down on the interviews, and references to Arcee, The Fallen and IDW having the script were censored.


Heh... kind of a "coincidence" that Hasbro and IDW are doing a comic book about the First Thirteen Transformers, which includes The Fallen, the very year the Transformers movie sequel comes out starring a character also named The Fallen.

Also, the President of the United States in Furman's UK Movie comics alternate universe storyline is named Theodore F. Allen.

Given the reasons I mentioned above, I daresay this is the Movie franchise's attempt to tie it into Hasbro's multiverse canon.

Yeah I expect something of the first 13 at least in the games if not in the movie. Plus this explains the alleged classics fallen stuff coming eventually down the line.

I also love the potential this may have to explore cybertronian darwinism vs creationism.
I don't like the mystical aspects that could be overbearing, but I do love the potential to the fact of it being fictional science behind the 'mystic' nature of his mythos. So he can appear mystical so long as there is TF science or plausibility behind why. I'm not sure how the general populace would react to a bot who is the genuine embodiment of entropy as opposed to an ancient bot who's claiming to be with overabundant power to seem like he is, while not truly being it. Though I guess it does pave the way for unicron or a unicube eventually. And it has yet to be revealed quite exactly what the allspark even was to begin with. All we know for sure is its radiation gives life to technomatter, but not stone or organics. The answer seems to lie within the allspark itself so far. Or entities of its nature. >_<

I'm still extremely skeptical about pitching the Fallen as the villain in this movie. Is it right to promote the sole creation of a man who used to steal other artists' designs, stiff his employees and bankrupt his own company through negligence while retaining sports cars for him and his brother?

Let's pray that the Fallen is indeed added to the cast lineup!

It's not like anybody outside the fandom really remembers that Pat Lee created him (initially). Nobody working in Transformers has any right to anything they create. Except for the Movie, everything made eventually becomes the property (sole or in part) of Hasbro. Pat won't get a red cent from this.

Besides, The Fallen is more Simon Furman's creation, as his characterisation and story are Furman's. Pat Lee's design for the Fallen wasn't even ever used, as I recall.

And quite frankly was probably a something he stole from a 'decent' fan anyway. He did screw many people over for money. I rather Furman get credit for the Fallen.

At least the Megatron and the Optimus Prime are back along with the Bumblebee and the Starscream. I'll be glad to see the Ironhide as well. I'm curious as to how much we'll see the Barricade though. The Frenzy is one of my favorites and I hope we'll see more of him.

While the Fallen may be in this movie, I think we hardly need to mention that the Soundwave will please movie goers a great deal.

So, The Fallen is now 200% confirmed. Then I think I know what the plot wil be like. Autobots and Decepticons teaming up to defeat this new danger. That's my 2 cents.

Well this should be good to see, they said they were going further into the history of the transformers i guess this is the best way to do it what with him being involved with primus and unicron, im kinda still unsure as to how much id liek them to use unicron.. i just cant see it working without turning into a full on cgi film with no people in it

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's going to happen. It's cool that we are getting so many new characters, and so many returning characters, but I have a strong feeling we are not going to get much screentime and character development for any of them.
