Here is an unusual sighting from Finland! It seems there is a Transformers fan hard at work sneaking some covert references to our favorite Robots in Disguise onto the Helsinki tram system. Tramlines in the Kamppi and Kluuvi districts have been observed sporting the faction symbols. They are professionally engraved so unlikely to have been anything applied on the street – which according to Helsinki City Transport rail unit director Pekka Sirviö suggests they either came that way from the manufacturer or else the symbols were added at the rail repair shop.
Like any good prank, the identity of the one who added the brands and the reasoning for it is a mystery.
This report comes to you via Yle Uutiset.

Lol how did this get frontpaged. Here is the original thread about these things from last year:

Nevermore
By working with the company that creates the tramlines?
MandarinQuake
Now how could anybody possibly brand symbols on tramlines?
KaguyaHouraisan
Well,i better look out for trams while going to helsinki, they might merge to form the evil commutertraffictron.

I don't think Kup understands the whole robots in disguise thing as well as the Decepticons do.
jamarmiller
hahaha, this is awesome!
QLRformer
That's actually awesome. Rail makers in Helsinki knowing about Transformers, and putting the Bot/Con insignias on the tracks? Transformers has truly gone global.

I'm putting my money on Floro Dery.
Now if only we had trains that actually worked in New Zealand, we might be able to get some cool train tracks, instead of those ones that always look like they're rusted. The trains over here have faults every damn day, it seems.
Either I'm a bad fan or I don't pay as much attention to things as I thought I did. I didn't even realise there was a difference. Maybe I forgot. But the fact that people make even the slightest deal of it is stupid.

That's news? The Budapest public system has been secretly owned by Decepticons since the nineties…
Especially the Underground railroad. I mean, don't tell me this is not a stylized Decepticon insignia…
Meanwhile, the Autobot resistance has been driven underground, led by that crochety old fart, Kup.
Though, he does have a village named after him, as well.

This is old news for Nordic fans – our members have known about this for at least a year. It's just the first time it's being pointed out to our international friends here

Someone secretly sneaking Transformers insignias onto train tracks? Holy crap that is awesome. I love finding Transformer symbols in random places, it's like a real life Easter Egg.

check and mate.

Whoever is doing this is now one of my favorite people.
doctajones428
It's a rail, who cares? It's barely even noticeable
Not to mention:
It's not "defaced". It's up to the manufacturer/shop to modify their rails anyway they see fit before them being put in the ground
Galvatron Rage
Wow, that is REALLY cool. I love stuff like that.
Looks like whoever programs the CNC mill is a Transformers fan!
Hook…….thank you.

I'm pretty sure the man with Jackie Chan as his avatar was joking about the "defacing" thing.
If not, that's pretty sad and he should get an old curmudgeon as his avatar.

I think resurrect dead, space invader, and banksy are interesting personalities but I really skimmed this thread to make sure there where no believers. I've had a few instances where I'd say I wonder if people really- search, barf. Thankfully the Internet dissapoints this time.

Suddenly I get an itch to engrave some logos too.
