Soundwave I think looks great. That is one imposing pressence. Give him a booming, deep monotone and he'll sound the part and have the right silhouette. I hope he has a "battle mask" like some of the first movie designs that involves a faceplate and a visor, that would be too cool.
Ravage looks great, very cinematic. I can see that working extremely well on the big screen, jumping on top of cars smashing roofs and windshields, and snarling in a part organic part mechanical howl and generally coming over as being very evil and terrifying. I can see that thing racing about and jumping lots, on and off of walls and jumping over things.
Thundercrackah:
Ravage looks awesome, exactly how I wanted him to look.
Soundwave's head does remind me of Barricade, I knew he would never be blue too, he's not bad. Still loving the movie aesthetic.
As much as I like seeing concept art it never wows me that much, that usually happens when I start seeing the toys or CG renders.
Anyways look forward to seeing these guys in their final designs. Can't wait for this movie!
Bahamut Prime:
Looks cool! Especially the feral look of Ravage!

yes in G1, movie is not G1.
TFfan08:
Looks Badass Even in Pick Up Truck Mode
DieMaus:
To be honest, I'm really finding it difficult to say anything about this Soundwave design, mostly because I'm so unsure as to whether it's real. Straight off the bat, the "cutom desktop wallpaper" design of the concept art sheet is putting me off, with the big, erroneous Transformers II logo in the bottom, but even looking past that, the obvious elephant in the room remains the fact that he's a pickup truck, which Orci said was false. Judged on its own merits, I'd say the design is OK; the blue orbs are quite striking and the head crest is very Soundwave, but otherwise he comes off as a bit generic in both robot and truck mode. Ravage, on the other hand, looks very good, a very striking take on the character. But all of that depends on whether they're authentic or not, so I'll have to wait and see...
TFfan08:
You know That Satellite picture there that looks like movie scene concept art.
Autovolt 127:
i so like Movie Soundwave.

But I don't know about the legitimacy, I'm pretty sure I saw that Ravage somewhere before...

lets do the movie this way then.
optimus prime is an elephant voiced by christopher walken with 100 million moving parts that spin around him like a tornado, who transforms into a golf cart, but wait for it...a bad ass golf cart with a flame paint job.megatron dosnt even show up at all.starscream has 1 second of screne time.bumblebee pees on everyone.no one has a recognizable face or name and the movie is called sams magical tricycle adventure instead of transformers.
whats the point in the movie if you cant even identify your favorite transformer.this movie wouldnt even exist if it wasnt for G1...im sorry.that was all kinda therapy for me,nothing against you or anything.

It's all really pretty sad you know, alot of these TF2 threads are full of "I don't like this", or "This is awful". Is it just me, or did we already say all this kind of stuff for the first film? I thought we would've gotten that out of our systems after the movie was a box office smash, ranked in the top 100 movies of all time, and knocked Terminator 2 off of a throne that it held for 16 years as the #1 robot movie of all time.
This is the movieverse, and as such, it has the movieverse asthetic. We've known that the robots would have this general style for nearly 3 years now since the first leaks of movie bots for the first film. It obviously didn't do any good to complain back then, and it's probably just as futile now. If you don't like the designs then Universe Classic series is for you. | NothingHead:

Don't read too deeply into the explanation for the aesthetic choices; a gifted concept artist could have made these robots work however they wanted. They didn't have to explode into a million tiny pieces and assemble into insectoid monsters, that's just where they decided to take them.
And that's fine. Kind of. It distinguishes the movie from any other continuity. Nobody would confuse Cybertron with G1, and I guess that's where they were going. It would be nice to see more homage in the only live-action TF property that will likely ever exist, but what can you do? The production company and director have always been more focused on style over substance..
DazzalingFury:
You can't actually see enough of the soundwave to compare it to anything G1 or any Decepticon symbol. It does not look like it is a real homage to the G1 Soundwave but still has a nice new modern look to it either way and I respect that aspect of the design. Ravage looks good, what i wonder is...what will his alternate mode be for a disguise amongst the humans? :O haha
Digilaut:
Ravage is pretty ok, although I would have preferred a more sleek design. Still, it's a Ravage.
Not too fond of Soundwave. Head definitely has some elements, but the mouth is too far off for my tastes.
Also, Having these blue glowing orbs is a good way of bringing back some blue elements in a black bot, but I don't think this is 'the way'.
blitzjoans:
Ravage is horrible. I like the way satellite
Nevermore:
Does anyone else think this looks fake? Aside from the glaring typo, the entire formatting is odd.
Draven:
*skims through 121 replies, because I have no interest in reading the same rubbish we had last year and the year before*
I don't mind it at all. Ravage looks great. Soundwave looks a lot more... solid than a lot of the TFs from the 1st movie, but I do seem to remember someone saying they would be more solid in this one. Nice design so far, but I highly doubt we're seeing the finished version here.
nemisispringer:
come on! that doesnt look anything like soundwave they just made a character an stuck his name on it g1 soundwave superior movie soundwave inferior
Omnius:
Ravage looks very different to the apparent prop we saw during some of the earlier shootings. This all looks very good but I'm not 100% convinced it's legit.
SPLIT LIP:
Ravage is BADASS. Soundwave looks really cool, but I wish we had a clearer pic of the head, (from what I can tell he has the forehead crest and "crown" design, only more exaggerated. The "cheek" pods also seem to be there only more stylized) but the body is surprisingly Soundwave-y. Yet I must agree with Nevermore, it seems fake.
Maximus_Prime:
he has to have the visor or it will not remind me of Soundwave at all
rattrap007:
Pretty good on both. Ravage looks like a Xenomorph version of a pit bull though.
rodimusconvoy:
If the is the look they are going to keep at the end, I pass.
Takara_destron:
Badass. If this is legit I'll be more than happy.
kjeevahh:
i don;t think that this is fake. i do think it is an early design though, ravage for example is alot skinnier in the movie than in this concept art, and looks like he has two eyes in the movie too - Lament:
Ravage looks great except imo the neck needs streamlining to be more feline and some black paint wouldn't go astray. Love the overall design though
Soundwave.... I'm not too sure yet. I like the movie designs in general, this may grow on me, like the blue discs but definately needs a faceplate and visor to be the Soundwave I know.

Anything that pisses off the GEEWUN crowd is okay by me.
Seriously, this design looks great. Tickets sold.
mckeller:
Soudwave actually has hands!
Lament:
Nice work on both posts there Kjeevahh. Can see how that design would work being soundwave alot clearer now, and as you just said, the voice would bring it all together.

No one has EVER confirmed that that scrawny silver puppet is Ravage. It's no more confirmed than everyone who also "know" that Ravage is one of those 3 wheeled ATV bikes. It's still all just pure speculation and what certain fanboys think makes sense - nothing more.

It's more likely the rumored girl-pretender's inner robot.
Railguard:
Well it would actually makes sense if Soundwave is a satelite. If he is indeed a satellite then he could block transmissions around the world.
Anti Spark:
Strange my first reaction was fake. Im not buying this one yet.
Tr4nce:
Wow, is this legit? Finally some leaked designs!! I love how Soundwave looks, but he looks nothing alike the G1 Soundwave, nothing at all. I have a hard time believing this is real.
Stormcrow:
I am really not crazy on this.
Selectron:
Ravage's design matches some set photos that turned up a while back of Shia being attacked by an undisclosed robot on the hood of a car, so I think it's legit.
Darkscreamer785:
Ravage is just plain awesome and very ferocious looking. Soundwave is cool to, but I don't know if making him look so different from his G1 form was such a good idea.
salmonman78:
Hmmm....love Ravage, very Geiger.
Soundwave I'll have to get used to, but then again final designs will turn out better than any concepts.
encline:
Ravage is good. Soundwave needs his visor. I like these!!!

SKowl:
Ugh... I hope Orci is right and that pickup truck mode is bogus. We've only had one movie so far and already they're re-using alternate modes. Really, you couldn't find something more original than, say, another black pickup truck?!
Soundwave's bot design looks cool, except for those truck parts that point to him being a stupid pickup. Oh, and his head design is awful - not because I think "he doesn't look enough like G1 Soundwave" (because after reading any of my complaints about the movie, people automatically think I'm some close-minded G1 purist, which I am not: there are just some thinks I don't like) - but because it just doesn't look like "Soundwave" enough.
Ravage looks great though! Just as I imagined him - like something out of Ridley Scott's Alien.
