Actor Shia LaBeouf who attended the Tribeca 2015 Film Festival yesterday, recalled the time he worked on the Transformers Live Action Movies. Reporters who attended the event stated that his statement was more of a criticism.
“Bumblebee never sounds real, it’s just a f—ing name. The name alone you can never make real, no matter how much you put into it, because on the other side, you have a director who doesn’t believe it either. So when you work with certain directors who give over and do something that’s presentational and you both believe it, then there is no f—ing around, and you really are in this alternate universe.”With plans of a Transformers Cinematic Universe on the horizon, what do you think of this statement made? <<Shia LaBeouf Recalls The Transformers Live Action Movies>>
Wow. I'm a little surprised that he remembers them at all

Look I agree that you're able to do good movies and make money at the same time but calling people simple minded is not making you look any better then the people behind the movies you accuse at being numbskulls. Maybe I'm looking at your post wrong and you probably don't mean to come across that way but that's the vibe I'm getting here and so far that feels like an attack on people who like the movies or at least a cheap shot in order to make your point.
Also how are the movies going to do damage to the franchise's mythos and brand exactly? I'm honestly curious because while I'm not excusing some of the poor decisions Hasbro and the people behind the movies are making (Looking at you ROTF.) I'm not seeing any signs of the brand suffering in the long run. Thing is those movies despite being flawed actually did some good for the franchise like it helped brought a lot of fans both old and new back into the brand and it also helped both Hasbro and Takara out in some projects like the MP line being able to use vehicles like the Lamborghini and the Volkswagon when the past they weren't able to do so with ease and they arguably did help pave way to the brand to use designs and elements that weren't the classics blocky G1 styled design since the Beast era. Compared to how most other brands out there like G.I Joe and MOTU are doing the TF line is still hanging in there.

TF is probably the only main "blockbuster" franchise right now that is consistently putting out poor films. Has nothing to do with William the playright.
You can make money and have a good film. You might even be able to have a good TF film. I know the simple minds are always blown by this, but settling for less is never something good people should do.
It is only a business because you are more than willing to give them your money for nothing. It is art, first and foremost. It will always be art.
The saddest thing about TF is it comes in a time where almost all of the other businessmen in film have realized you can make faithful adaptations without alienating the banal 'joe the plumbers' out there. But thanks to Hasbro's poor stewardship, Spielberg's inability to be in touch with where film is today and not in his heyday, and Bay's complete lack of care, we end up with not only poor excuses for films but long-term damage to the mythology and brand.

It doesn't matter at all to the people paying these actors they are investors not playwrights and don't care.
They respect the craft, their craft is hiring people that they hear make money and make good movies to earn profits, that equals good movie to the industry.
Just because it's an action shoot em' up movie that Shakespeare types don't enjoy doesn't make it a bad movie.
By that reasoning people that respect the craft will work for free is ludicrous.
Actors are business people too they hire agents to handle their agreements, it's all a business not a craft.

Except with the exception of Attinger Optimus never really killed any human in AOE. He just said that as a warning to those who were attacking him and Cade not to mention he went through a pretty tough ordeal as we've seen what he had to go through in DOTM.
I doubt Optimus will from now on kill any human who's evil since he said in AOE that he'll only kill the one who was responsible for the deaths of his friends. Also near the end Cade basically helped remind Optimus of what he stands for and not to just throw what he fought for this long away even though his anger to humans was understandable. I should also say that even if Optimus didn't want to kill Attinger he wasn't given much choice given that Lockdown was trying to kill him at the same time and he couldn't let Cade die because letting your best friend die like that isn't any better then killing a human.
As for the follow up idea I think it's possible they'll explore Optimus thinking over his first human kill and likely will have some people wanting him dead even more despite KSI now trying to help him and the other Autobots. Sort of like how in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice they'll explore the consequences of Superman's actions from MoS in it.
Hollywood Hoist
I lose what little respect I have for Shia as an artist every time he craps on one of his past projects.
Underwear
In a nutshell he's just an attention seeker.

I agree, I think most of the people who say that BB didn't have much of a character already doesn't like the movies. AOE he even developed a bit of an attitude.
TF Cagle
I think it just shows how bad Mr. Bay is at making people believe that these characters are real life. For crying out loud, Jeff Kline has made Transformers seem more real!
Bass X0
I hope they do something to follow up on that in the fifth movie. Will Optimus Prime embrace killing humans who has committed evil actions, or will he break down and become crippled because he killed a human?
Attinger deserved it. But Optimus Prime shouldn't kill humans under any circumstances.

The fact Bay had Optimus running around shouting 'I'll kill you all', then having him kill a human, tells you everything you need to know about how much Bay believes in or gets these characters.

Just because you do it for money doesn't mean you can't care about it and respect it. And it shows in the finished product. The best at their craft, whatever it is, always do it for more than the money.
jestermon
Everyone is doing it for money, I can bet they paid Gandalf a pretty penny to come cry on their set.
People don't seem to understand money spends the same regardless of what country it comes from.
Faelon
I've always assumed that Bay simply hates Gen X'ers and does anything in his power to torture them. In much the same way that George RR Martin hates nerds.

Another one of these threads….
I guess it makes sense for the large exposure the movies have than other TF media. It's where we settle most of our hate at.
Solluxcaptor
The fact is that Bay is just doing this for the money. He has no more than a cursory interest in the lore, and his movies are made to cash in on the impressionability of children and the nostalgic stupidity of adults. It's the only reason this movie cracked 1 billion dollars. (I'm looking at you, China…) Shia is really turning himself around, glad to hear he's distancing himself from this shit.
Shin-Gouki
This moron is nothing but a train wreck.
DOTM Bumblebee
Bumblebee actually did have a character in the movie. He was one of the few Transformers who did. He's youthful and childish with a quirky sense of humor, and has no tolerance of anyone who threatens his friends.
Oh, and he's a childish, mischievous, cocky character in Animated, he was a sympathetic character who's a nice guy trying to stay nice despite the burdens of leadership in the IDW comics, a young, but battle-scarred Autobot in Prime, and a more light-hearted portrayal of his IDW incarnation in RID2015.
RazorclawX
Ultimately it didn't matter what he said or how he meant it. TFW forum posters will use it all the same to spin it into whatever their stance is regardless of how tangential it was to the original post.
AzT
*Very* well stated!
Shia: be content with the pay, be remembered… go about your business, move along (see what I did there )
