Rumor : Transformers 3 Bumblebee To Be A Convertible?
Tmurphycardesign of the Camaro5.com forums, claim to have seen the new Bumblebee. He says that... "I guess we're shipping it out real soon, because they are going to be shooting it within a week or so."
Coincidentally, GM officially revealed (two days ago on April 14th) teaser pictures of the new Camaro Convertible due to release on year 2011.
Donmurphy.net Message Board is also buzzing with this new speculation.
To support the rumor even further more, an abandoned concept art for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Bumblebee clearly shows a Camaro Convertible Alternate Mode.

Um...the guy at Camaro5 doesn't say it is a convertable. Someone else asks that, but he never answers. He doesn't say anything about it other than he "saw it" and that it looks "more designed," whatever that means.

It's possible, for sure. I remember that they were seriously considering Bumblebee be a convertible for ROTF.
I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the idea though. I feel like the alternate mode is a representation, and actual part of the character. If the alternate mode keeps changing, I feel like the character itself is in a constant state of flux.

When was the last time Hasbro and Takara managed to do a convertible TF with a removable roof and a convincing interior, Alternators?
The movie line has pushed things pretty far in terms of engineer, but i'm sketpcial about how they'll translate this into a toy....(and at least 5 repaints)

I don't see anything beyond fan speculation to suggest BB is going to be a convertible Camaro in TF3. The one source who claims to have seen the car makes no claims of it being a convertible, only that it's been redesigned.
Don't know how I feel about the change of alt mode but we'll see once spy photos inevitably start to leak.

BOO! I want Bumblebee to be changed into a Chevy Equinox... why? Sam and Mikaela are now married, with kids, and Bumblebee is now the Soccer Mom's vehicle. Yup... the seats have crumbs everywhere, stained, and smells funny. Bumblebee is humiliated by this treatment. Because he's so depressed, he changes his name to Cliffjumper.

No problem with this.....if they exlpain why the change was made or even how (re-scan, holographic?). Was Mikaela wining about Sam's "piece of crap Camaro?" and he needed a refresh? TELL US, MIKE!

My only gripe any what so ever, is that I don't like convertibles in general. Too many cars that have convertibles, just don't pull it off right. As in they don't look right as a convertible. Such as the new CC.
What I am trying to say is, I don't hate that they "may" make him a convertible, as much as I hate cars that don't look right as one. I say may because there is no confirmation on this.

Sounds good to me. I like the look of the convertible. If true, it'll make a great upgrade to Bumblebee, giving him a more streamlined design with less kibble.

GM loves to show off their new cars in the film franchise.
Micheal Bay seems like the sort of person who would be into convertibles.
Hasbro would have a good excuse for a change for yet another movie Bumblebee toy.
Rumors that Prime and Bumblebee have had work done to their GCI models.
To borrow from Mythbusters I'd say plausible.
