There's no way they can be thinking about cast for Transformers 4 yet, the DVD hasn't even come out for DOTM.

EDIT: Actually, if these producers are huge money grubbers, the probably have started thinking about the future sequels already. I think Don Murphy said that there would be a second trilogy, not a reboot? If this rumour is indeed true, I'm worried we might have producers on our hands who will run this movie series into the ground for money.

I don't know shit about movies, actors, actresses & such. I'm not some Hollywood Insider that obsessively has to know when such and such (insert name of celebrity) so much as takes a dump or what not. So I don't know about Jason Statham or what role if any he could play in any future Transformers film. The franchise could easily move forward without Shia and Michael into a 4th film. The trilogy/reboot thing is a fad and Transformers have surpassed that marker after 27 years of existence. I'd be happier with a continuation as Transformers has too many parallel universes anyway.

No. Loosing Shia Labeouf kills the whole "boy and his car" relationship with Bumblebee for a potential fourth movie, and that relationship is BIG in toy sales because that essentially forces Bumblebee to get a lot of screen time. Which Hasbro likes, because that makes the BB toys sell, and Chevy likes because BB is their big-ticket sportscar seller (they make the BB-influenced Camaro version as a special after package for an added 2K+ or something on the price). Plus, Sam is as important to the movies as Bumblebee, since the movies tend to tell the story more from his perspective than from the robot's perspective. We've followed him up through high school and his first encounter with the Cybertronians, then to college, and then finally the point where he at last gets a job and the new girlfriend. Trying to continue the story with the main human character who is the LEAST connected to the TF's being the only major one that returns is a recipe for disaster.

dude, it made 400 mil opening weekend on it's way to probably close to a billion dollers (+DVD/Blu-ray and Merchandise)

there'll be another sequel in either 2 or 3 summers. Hopefully with a better director and script.

and I'd love to see Statham in it as much as anyone, that dude has managed to make some pretty terrible movies totally enjoyable to me.

Just a rumor at this point. Until, we have a director, and there's casting taking place, a lot of things can happen, change, and then change again. With that said. It's safe to say there will be another Transformers movie without Shia and Bay.

For what its worth, I think he'd do fine in Transformers if they took the tone a bit darker like the Batman reboot (Nolan's). My Question is...if its a second sequel...i dont really see where they can go with characters and story( and not be awkward). If its a reboot ...anything is possible, If they are talking about him just being the voice of someone....let the speculation begin. Who would he be?

Anyway, I doubt TF4 news would be this quick, but I do believe a TF4 movie is inevitable, Pirates got a 4th movie, Shrek got a fourth, Transformers will get a fourth.
