Ramon Rodriguez to Return for Transformers 3 leo
According to an article on Ramon Rodriguez in the Los Angeles Times, current plans for the third Transformers movie include Ramon Rodriguez's Leonardo Ponce De Leon Spitz (Leo Spitz). Per the article, director Michael Bay imagines a much "meatier" role for the character of Leo in the third movie. Transformers 3 is currently scheduled by Paramount to hit theatres on July 1, 2011, although Michael Bay is seeking a 2012 release.

Ramon Rodriguez will have bigger role in third 'Transformers' movie, Bay hints | Hero Complex | Los Angeles Times

Director Michael Bay has a third "Transformers" film in mind, and if it plays out as he expects, the next installment would have a more substantial role for Rodriguez
Ratchet2007:
Yay !
Deadpool.:
More nut-tazing and ball abuse?

Yay!
Autobotic9:
Very cool to hear. I liked his character
realCliffjumper:
Cool. Saw it coming though. I see him and Simmons having a Batman and Robin kinda thing going on for the movie.
Omegatron1:
So...even more cheap laughs and less substance? Overall, I liked the movie, but if this means less robot development and more pratfalls...meh.
Tell_Story:
Oh boy! I just might wait until DVD to see the next one!
Harbinger:
i want more simmons. first movie had the fall of simmons, this one had the redemption of simmons, what will the third bring?

but yeah ball busting leo is great too.
MegaHavok:
I highly doubt Bay is planning anything yet.
Opticron Primal:
I liked Leo. Now that he knows what's going on, I want to see how his character acts now.
Hikuro:
God please no, he was one of the main characters that were annoying and shallow in this film, why couldn't he just be a one hit?
funkatron101:
why?
Von Rojas:
I thought the film was not out until 2012?
Thundercrackah:
Good I liked Leo.

Paramount has publically stated 2011, even if its just a placeholder for the time being. Bay wants 2012, so he can have some time away. Stay tuned.
Bilbo Boxhead:
More Leo!
Lord Megatron:
Why?
Paladin:
Fuck.

Here's hoping he gets stepped on this time.
the unacronner:
for gods sake why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jignat:
uggh the worst character in tf2

I actually anticipated seeing him tasered in the junk
Ironhide2005:
K cool can't say I don't want him in.
ILoveDinobot:
Is he coming back as Simmons wife?
J Migidy:
Uuuuum Transformers 3 in 2011? That's less than 2 years from now. There is no way that it happening. Especially if they want to movie to be any good. Also Bay wants a break from the bots so if they really want to crank out an inferior movie that fast they will have to find a new director. I would hope that they take their time and do it right. I would rather wait an extra year and have a better movie.
Samus_Ng:
Leo is the best! The real effin' deal, loved his character
Dropshot:
First news about TF3?! (other were just speculations and rumors)Awesome!

I liked Leo, and it's better to see a familiar face than keep changing the secondary chacracters every movie.
Lupis Convoy:
I really hope he isn't coming back. I was not impressed with his character at all.
Sideswipe80:
Ugh, not good news at all.
Scantron:
I'm glad they're carrying a few more of the human characters forward, but I found Spazmo to be one of the most irritating humans, especially in any scene where Simmons wasn't around. I'd rather they focus more on some of the human characters who've been around since the first movie who didn't get much depth in RotF (Epps, Lennox) than expanding Leo's role.
Jericho:
a meatier role? Translation = LESS robot time. wtf guys, it's not called Sam Witwicky and friends, it's called TRANSFORMERS.

*facepalm*
Moy:
I believe the movie release is on 2012, if I remember correctly.
Jericho:
They could have already been working on it knowing full well this would be a hit.
Neuco:
Couldn't stand that idiot. Meatier role? How about giving the robots bigger roles and the humans smaller ones?
billcosby:
Even though I loved the film, I thought Leo and Simmons and their foolishness was the low point of the movie. I liked the twins way more than their stupid banter.

'Transformers 3' gets a date - Entertainment News, Film News, Media - Variety

Again, the only mention of 2012 has been Bay's wishes. As far as Paramount is concerned, they still have it scheduled for July 1, 2011.
figsdad:
Well you all know the next film wont change if mr bay is at the helm..

same jokes and lack of talking with the robots..

Should be more talking of the robots and less army and human involvment..
MGX:
More stolen stuff for ROBOWARRIOR.COM!!!!
st.ranger:
Damned, I hate Leo. Who can likes his stupid jokes? This movie is about giant robots, not about balls.
roy_flagg00:
awesome!
he was funny!
I mean really

deathonacracker:
"meatier" role= working at the deli with Simmons sharing sausages.

could we have our first male/male TF romance. maybe a gaybot? not that there's anything wrong with it!
poorboy8u:
This next one had best be double the cybertronian screen time as tf2 or It'll flopppp. I can't imagine how or why we need any more human screen time. Yeah it was to help ease us into talking transforming robots. That's over now. Bring on some serious characterization for the bots!

I concur gentlemen. Where is that Darth Vader icon when you need it?

Leo was one of the biggest wastes of screen time in the film. The twins were better. (I have some issues with Simmons too, but that's for another thread). Leo was so bad at times I was wishing Glenn from the first movie was back instead.

If any human roles need to be meatier let it be the military guys please. I loved everything with Galloway. Epps and Lennox are my favorite humans from this continuity. I would have loved to see the cut scene from the comic adaptation with Lennox's wife and Epps's girlfriend helping with the coordinate location of where to dump Optimus. How about adding a competent and hot female military officer into the mix. What about using Kami and Petr from the RotF prequel novel? I loved those guys and was disapointed that they were book only characters.

We all want more robots more than anything, but if we have to have meatier human roles too, let them be for characters that aren't the most annoything thing since the Armada kids please, Mr. Bay.
MrFX:
Great. :/ This guy again. I don't want 50/50 screentime of humans and tranformers. I want as much big robot action as I can get. Sounds like part 3 is already off to a bad start, IMHO.

They should be less worried about developing the humans and more time worrying about developing the actual TRANSFORMERS. Jolt? JOLT WHO? Sideswipe only one line? Sideways peaced out in 2 minutes with NO DIALOGUE? Huh? But we've gotta deal with this jerk even MORE in the next film.
Big Filipino:
Not to be compltely off topic but I thought there was going to be a 3 year break between ROTF and TF3?

booooooo!!!!!!!!!!
you are such a snob, asking for characterization and such.
this is the only way a transformers movie can be made and it's good enough like it is. stop hating.
.
.
.

damn, i couldn't say that with a straight face.
Angelwave:
Hmmm......I'll reserve judgment until the next movie comes out. The general audience seemed to enjoy his antics in this film, so I'm not hoping for much. It's all up to the writers now to have him be worthwhile on screen. My only wish is that I hope they (the writers) listen to the criticism that was received according to the plot.
Scorpio:
I agree however i cant help noticing that the TFW2005 article list the ROTF date as 2011.

Bay has said that if he does do a third film he will take a one year break. He also agreed with the studios for June 1st 2012 as he wants some time off. Can someone please correct this date to 2012 so we dont get a fan come on and moan, Please
Jericho:
here's the thing, he already had a pretty "meaty" role, he was in just about EVERY human scene once they made it to Egypt. Why, who the hell knows but he sure as shit doesn't need even more screen time. Mikeala should be offended, and she's as useless as Leo is.
