Optimus Prime and Bumblebee's Character Models to Undergo Minor Visual Changes for Transformers 3

I wonder how "extensive" these makeovers will be. Similar to their "makeovers" from TF1 to TF2?

Well damn. At least this gives the designers another shot at making Optimus, but imagine how Hasbro and Takara are going to handle more Bumblebees...

Prime is an obvious one, and will probably incorporate some kind of power armor. Will be interesting to see if they will let go of the flames as well. I kinda like them, but I'm still curious to what a 'normal' colors Prime would look like.

As for Bumblebee...Really do wonder what they will do with him. Maybe make him black and yellow stripes, like in that concept art. I can't see them going on an extensive retooling with him.

EDIT: Well that teaches me to read the article first. Still, will be interesting to see what they will do.

Cool. That means the toys for TF2 will look more different from the last line.

Hopefully this means Bumblebee will get an actual face, get rid of the gag-ball sex helmet and stop talking like a sad puppy dog.

If it's only going to be 'suttle' changes I don't think that means new paintjobs, as that's a rather significant change for a CG model, and more than just fanboys would notice that.

Slight changes to character models just means an excuse for kids to want more toys of the same characters. Oh yeah, and dorks like me too......d'oh.

Prime and Bumblebee to get subtle changes? Just hope that it's subtle and not an extensive makeover; plus, I'm sure that this will give Hasbro enough reasons to come out with newer figures of the two characters for the TF3 toy-line.

They're trying to state that Bumblebee is undergoing the human equivalent of "growing up". As he matures, he has the potential to develop his body and/or grow just like a teenager or develop his body further like an adult can with exercise.

Hmmm. Some of his visual ques are large round eyes and a round face which give him a very child like appearance. I wonder if they plan on squaring up his face and jaw a bit? Giving him smaller more stern eyes, wider shoulders, longer looking legs and a stronger taper to his waist.

All would suggest a more adult physique in the heroic vein of appearances.

I hope they don't change too much about Optimus since he already looks pretty bad ass. I hated the flames before but I love them now. I hope they stay.

Seriously...how do you take the bad-ass that was Prime in ROTF...look more Heroic? He looks heroic enough for me! A f*cking semi that transforms into a giant f*cking robot, that kicks f*cking decepticon ass!!!!! What isn't heroic about that! Shit, the opener of ROTF with him parachuting in was enough heroics to fill the whole movie.

I have to agree with this. Prime is already established as a, well, prime example of badassery. His look is flawless.

My biggest fear here is that they may change too much, where it is glaringly obvious, without explanation. Although the Camaro in ROTF looked pretty awesome compared to TF1, the lack of explanation behind the alteration pissed me the heck off. (Don't get me started as to why the Chevy badge was black and red in the grill of the vehicle, but still gold in robot... and numerous other stuff). I just would like to know why these changes were made in the movie. WHY do they even have to change for the movie if the models are already complete?

Plus, missing here is any indication of whether or not Ratchet or Ironhide will be receiving vehicle updates being that GM no longer will build them and therefore not need the marketing.

If the 80's movie is anything to go by, "mature" means Bumblebee will now be 2 feet taller and transform into a yellow Winnebago with black racing stripes.

Or something that doesn't stick out as badly. For being "Robots in Disguise" I would look twice and then several more times with the convoy that the movie Autobots become when they are traveling.

It'd actually be neat if he went back to the old '74 Camaro, though spiffed up a little so it looks like it came from a car show rather than a used car lot. Obviously GM would never let that happen though .

It would be nice if he kept his Camaro alt mode so I don't have to buy another gigantic slew of "movie-accurate-definitive-edition" Bumblebees.

im excited to see what they look like in the film but toy wise im not to excited how many primes & bees do have now almost 30 or more now including repaints

an escuse for hasbro to make more toys with out giving us more repaints upon repaint prime reoft is pretty darn accuate hooks & swords alike how many differnt weapons can they give prime & bee toys prime has hooks & swords bee has gun & axe like weapon

I'm not really expecting anything big. They changed subtle things on the models from the first film when doing ROTF. How many people remeber or noticed what was different?

Though the bit about fan nods in Prime's design does have me a bit perplexed. If they're subtle, then how significant could it really be?

Personally, i'm looking forward to another 5 or 6 Deluxe Bumblebees that don't like the new animation model either.

They could still use some of the tooling. They just about knocked Prime out of the ballpark this time round, i can't see the mold going through any significant changes.
