The pictures show Megatron in a new vehicle mode, now resembling a Cybertronian tank. This was previously rumored for the upcoming film.

that looks sick! i love it!
RodimusDawg:
Love it love it. And I know there are going to be people that hate on it and ask why didn't he take on an earth mode. But the point that has been given time and time again is Why does Megatron need an earth mode, why does Megatron need to hide?
Draven:
Dayum. That looks thoroughly badass. Hopefully the toy version will be as cool, and not a load of rubbish like the first movie's toy version was.
knockoff:
dunno if this has been mentioned before, but megs seems like an amalgam of all the previously fallen TFs from the first movie.
1. jazz's gun for the turret
2. treads and tank form from brawl (devastator)
3. weird appendages that seem vaguely similar to frenzy's body
4. overall shape and contour from meg's original body
it would be pretty interesting if that's how megs came to be - he got put together a la frankenstein like from varioius TFs.
- KO
SmokescreenGT:
Megatron's new tank mode looks awesome. Much better than the ugly jet from the first film. It's possible that he always had a tank mode, but he just didn't use it in TF1 because he wasn't onscreen that long. And he could still have a jet mode, as well.
BB Shockwave:
The visible head is I guess a leftover from his old alt mode - it was visible there as well...
Not to question the source (S250 has been a great source for Animated so far) but what's to say these aren't old designs from the first movie, before some 'genius' decided Megatron should be a jet?
Kranix:
anyone even ponder the idea that this is total missinformation being it is not even a render, but a really good drawing....... and that megs may indeed get a bad ass earth mode to rub up all in the autobots faces...

OMG. THAT IS THE MOST WICKED TANK EVER. EVER.
Yes, it HAD to be said in type that big. GAH CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE TOY NOW...
Mospeada:
I thought it was going to be the G2 tank mode, but that is cool. Like an insane Tankor from hell. I must admit the toy will be sweet.
General Tekno:
Oh, HOLY. FREAKING. CRAP.
That is awesome.

If I hear the "misinformation" line one more time, my head may friggin' explode.
Proud of the rest of y'all who didn't go there, though.
diablien:
better than the jet, but not excited. I can image it now, Megatron in tank mode lurking toward Prime and they are having some sort of debate, with Megatron's head yelling at him. So pathetic.

DN | true i suppose, just a pet pieve having the head mode visable. i dunno always kind of looks half transformed imo. i do like the tank mode tho, feels more like megs
jazz4ever: ...woah...awesome
DJCHARTERS:
its very possible that there never has been any mis-information, bay just saying there is and that there will be lots of it puts a big question mark over everything we see leaked. which means it is easier to keep everything under wraps because even if it is real people will chalk it up to being fake.......if that makes sense. quite a good idea though.
boobooskidoo:
That is awesomely creepy! This movie is getting more epic looking every day!
protostar8:
Nice Cybertronian Alt mode. Too bad the robot mode doesn't look better...
0ptimus__Prime:
Wow! looks great!

I'm pretty impressed by the new "Tank Megatron". More closely fits with the original Megs... but still, an Earth mode would've been cool.
I love the tread on that tank though. BB Shockwave:
My only beef with it is that that cannon is freakin thin and small, compared to what G1 Megs, Galvatron or even the various G2 Megatrons had. I guess Movie Megs will always have 'small cannon' syndrome when he goes to meet his predecessors... surak777:
I like the tank.. yall get over the head showing because I have one thing to say to help "ALIEN FRAKKIN TANK!" Megs does not need an earth mode.. Period.. I like it.. I'd like to see him in action.. I like to see this thing pancaking cars in the streets of a city and blowing things up. (which is of course why it exists right?)
The main point of megs isn't about alt mode, it's always been overlord and evil.. who the frack cares if we only see this for 5 seconds on screen?
In Hollywood on sets on props often there are so many details on an object we never see. Perhaps it's filmed so we never see the head.. personally I could care less, but the robot asthetic crowds have never owned an armada megs, or seem to have forgotten that toy (which seems like a similar mode)
Rayzilla Prime:
Awesome sawce! The arrangement of the treads reminds me of Animated Shockwave.
The tank works great for Megatron, but it's kinda unusual why he'd transition from jet to tank and lose the advantage of flight. Then again, he'd probably still be able to fly in robot form anyway, so that makes up for it.
Speaking of which, he looks like he still has jet/rocket thrusters in the back - do I smell a movie-verse Triple Changer?

Proud of the rest of y'all who didn't go there, though. | Yeah, I have to say. Did it ever cross anyone's mind that Michael Bay's AWESOME™ Misinformation Campaign which some people still believe in has reached amazingly huge dimensions by this point? Forging a fake call sheet, hauling fake prop vehicles across the continent just to back up the call sheet, having IDW writers utter fake statements in interviews and then later have the sites that posted those interviews remove those statements, forging complex designs and then unleashing the lawyers to have them pulled... For someone who's as rigid about budget as Bay is (remember, for the first movie he was more than happy that General Motors were providing him with vehicles, which saved him $3 million from his budget), this must be one hell of an expensive misinformation campaign just for the sake of fooling the interwebs. jazz4ever:
okay so now that i have recovered from my shock of awesomeness i have one thing to say: i think his head showing isnt that big of a deal considering it blends in with the rest of the mode it isnt like the first movie megs who had a big stub in the middle of his jet mode this one is low to the ground and like i said it blends in with most of the other plates surounding it
blaine71274:
I thought for sure they would use an Earth form, and bring Frank Welker in as the voice. Much like when Megatron was redone as Galvatron and his voiced changed, then it changed again in the series after being brought back from Char. I figured the allspark would have damaged or altered his configuration. Anywho?
LEADERS_MATRIX:
Weird, I kinda like it
Robogeek28:
Oh my!! Turnpike:
HOLY "§$% =O
Two words: Bad. Ass.
I CANNOT wait to see that thing tear the world a new one.
Grimlock_13:
Looks awesome. Hope it's legit.
IronCrow:
The head showing struck me as a bit odd at first, but really, I couldn't care less anymore just because that is one sweet looking tank! It would be pretty awesome if he turned out to be a triple changer too.

Please let it be sarcastic...
Welker's Galvatron voice was asstacular, anyway.
Zaraxion1021: : Okay!!! This is the kind of news i've been waiting for a longgg time!! That Megatron mode looks awesome!!!
CryoPrime:
Sick. In the good way. lolzrs.
DeceptiKreep:
AWESOME!
Definitely lovin' this!
I like the idea of Megatron, if this is him, not taking on an Earth mode. I mean, why would he even want to try to become part of something that, in the end, only wanted to destroy him?
First the people of Earth find him then keep him frozen. When he escapes, albeit to cause destruction, the people of Earth want to destroy him and any like him. Then, when all is said and done, the people of Earth dump his body in the ocean.
I would think that he would want to go against every part of Earth as much as possible. Distance himself as much as possible. He wants to pretty much destroy the planet, not become a part of it.
And someone mentioned that these images were labeled Megatron therefore it has to be him. Well, I only see Megatron, partially, in one image. It looks like it is in a separate section. For all we know this could be another character on the same info sheet as Megs and this is to throw us off.
And one question ... how is it that this board member appears to be the only person with access to these images? I would think we would be seeing them all over the place. Just makes me second guess things ...
Takara_destron:
WANT!
I REALLY hope this is legit! That is badass.
Apriorion:
That is freakin' awesome!!! (Megatron is a three-exclamation marks kinda guy.)
shockwave2005:
Love the alt. mode, but I'm still not sold on that bot mode - I hope that's unfinished.
VE Telus:
It's ... Armada Megatron! What's with the visible head?

Zress Tayasu:
the only blending he aims to do, is of fleshies caught in his treads. ph34r.
Ash from Carolina:
Almost like a cross between Scorponok from the movie and the Classics Line Galvatron but oddly enough I really like that alt mode. I hope the head doesn't stay exposed like that so that maybe it was still a work in progress but as a bit of a tread head I'd be interested in picking up the toy just for the really cool looking alien tank look.

IMDB. | It wouldn't surprise me if the only bit of misinformation was him saying that there would be a misinformation campaign. nothing else is needed, everyone does quite a good enough job of it themselves!
Loscos:
I like it, very interested to see the toy version now.
AngusDF:
This is what he should have looked like the first time around.
But I was hoping for an earth mode this time...
starscream.pt:
now meg's a tank, and of course, still a blasting gun, kinda balances it with G1 and G2 fans Dropshot:
That's one amazing design, but as the rest of you, the head sticking out is the only "flaw", but I guess that's Megs signature for the movieverse.
So, checking it with the bot mode, I'm guessing the whole turret becomes the right arm, but the boom stick looks thinner in the bot mode than on this pics.
