Icespark:
Hi everybody,

I saw the thread about Transformers 2 books, and I was curious to see if any other websites had listings. I checked Borders Books, and they had this book listed:
The Last Prime - Borders - Books, Music and Movies

It's scheduled to be released the same day as all the other Transformers 2 books, but what's strange is the title: The Last Prime. We know in the movie universe Optimus is the commander of all the Autobots, but nothing was ever stated about other Primes. So, what does the title mean by the last Prime? Does anyone have any ideas?
General Tekno:
Mebbe the Fallen was Primes predecessor?
Master Fwiffo:
Fascinating.
Ravenxl7:
Sounds interesting. No idea what it'll mean for the story though, as it could go in several different directions.
B-Fox:
Perhaps there will be songs by AMERICA in the sequel?

Maybe the book is a future look, or a young prime sidestory?

Wait what?
Fit For natalie:
Vector Prime was one of Primus's first Thirteen Transformers, along with The Fallen...
Optimus_Prowl:
Wow, if we were to see a live-action version of VP, I would be... astounded?
Starscreamer95:
Interesting...

what you said.
lightdestroyed:
Could be interesting...
MetroBoy:
I would even be more astounded if they used the same character model for Vector Prime (if he is in fact in the movie). Considering he is the protector of time and space, I would imagine that this Vector Prime would be the same as the one we saw in the Cybertron continuity.

Then again, Bay may have re-imagined him as a port-o-potty. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
transmetal2dinobot:
it's WILD SPECULATION TIME!
probably something about optimus dealing with being leader of a dying race with noone to really take over
or not
maybe it's about wizards
Julliant:
ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.............

Optimus Prime dies in the movieverse and the movieverse, whether TF2 or TF3, will have the conclusion to the book.

Say NO to Transformers multiverse stuff.
Railguard:
I don't really take part in the whole multiverse nonsense. The only way I do is to get great toys. The last Prime though? The way I understand it is as long as there is a worthy Autobot, there can still be a Prime, they just have to get the Matrix to new Autobot and there is a new Prime. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, I mean I haven't had the oppurtunity to read the comics over the years.
a fan like you:
So...does this mean Optimus Prime's getting killed off (again)?

No Transformers universe is complete until Prime is dead, and brought back, and possibly dead again.
a fan like you:
What other universes did he die besides G1?
TFfan08:
A New Rodimus Prime? Huh? If that about Rodimus Prime, thats sucks.
VAwitch:
G1, comics, G2, Beast Wars (may Beast Machines) - can't speak for the RiD/A/E/C... and so far, he got offed in the first 3eps for TFA...

hence the running joke of it ain't TF if Optimus don't die.

Love yer sig, man Is that a Softtail, or non-HD?
TRANS+CRAZY:
Maybe the story is about Sentinel Prime, whom Optimus had succeeded in G1... well, at least that was mentioned in War Within that was who Optimus succeeded as Prime.

Who knows? Guess we'll just have to wait for the book to come out and read it to find out.
Ash from Carolina:
I think what's interesting is this sort of says that maybe they are really working on making the movie universe something more than just a handful of robots come to Earth and a boy gets his first car.

First the comic books went expanding on characters and history, now things like this seem to expand the history. Hey who knows the story people might actually get something this time around as well.
knook:
Could this be the last Autobot from the G1 comics?
Julliant:
Or, Optimus Prime doesn't die, but with the war over and the Allspark gone, there's no means of any reproduction, so Optimus remains THE Prime for the rest of eternity.
Halo:
(sarcastically) It's Rodmius Prime...!

Exactly my thought! Or at least the last one...FOR NOW. dundundun.

And waaaaaant Movieverse Vector Prime. >>
spiritprime:
Maybe it's possible that Optimus Prime could die and that Hot Rod might step up to be the next Prime? I mean.... the vehicle that has been confirmed as Sideswipe.... that could possibly be Hot Rod! They could be trying to lead us off!
halfblood robot:
hmmm. interesting. if it's about rodimus then im not reading it. maybe its about optimus pre-war. that would make for a nice read.

Am I correct that loooong ago when Bay first started talking about new 'bots he mentioned there would be a "geriatric" Autobot. I think he also used the phrase: there will be new "species" of robots. Interesting nonetheless. Might pick up the book for a quick read!
O_Prime05:
My guess is they're talking about the Last Prime as in the one before Optimus. I think they are gonna tie this into the movie someone. I don't think it means "Last" as in the final one, just the one before the present one.
Bottom Out:
a title such as "the last prime" implies "final"

to sell a book with a title like that and have it be about the previous prime, people would be pissed. a title like that would never be approved
OmegaVPrime:
maybe "prime" relates to the spark of leadership being the last autobot to cary the title...I like that thought, but not in the sense that i will lose my hero :'(
