New Transformers: Age Of Extinction Movie Still has surfaced thanks to an unusual source. Salient Arms International has updated their Facebook page with an image of actress Sophia Myles and one of their firearms.

The company has this to say:

Salient Arms International 1911 as pictured in a still photo from the movie Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, in theaters June 27th.

This is a 100% hand built/fit weapon. Every part is ordered/fabricated oversized so it is hand fit to the next, as a result, tolerances stay very high.

That's the first thing that came to my mind as well.

Maybe it's one of those - "Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you" moments. *Enter stinger to disarm the gunman*

It's just a 1911 frame gun that fires 9mm instead of 45acp (so it's considerably less powerful than a real 1911).

If you want a nice 1911, check out Les Baer Customs and see what $3000+ will buy you in terms of fancy handguns.

Or you could spend ~600 bucks and get an XDm 5.25 in 45acp and have double the rounds of a 1911, less weight, and functionally identical accuracy. Then throw a $250 dollar .460 Rowland conversion on it so it fires .460 (it will still fire .45acp too!), which produces the same amount of power as .44 Magnum. Then you've got a super accurate semi-automatic handgun that holds 14 rounds and is as powerful as a .44 Magnum revolver (which holds 6), half the weight, less recoil (because it's semi-auto)......for $850 bucks total.

Guess which one I carry for self defense when I'm hiking? (We've got lots of bears here)

Sorry, silly gun marketing makes my eyes roll involuntarily.

She looks like Kate Winslet from Contagion there. Who's the actor next to her?

Edit: It looks like the two actors and the gun all come from separate sources and Photoshoped together on top of a single background.

Seconded. The shot looks outrageously fake.

Custom Built Anti-Tf Pistols w/ Anti TF Rounds? Or do the weapons Transform into mini-bots?

What ever it is, it will be large, as the 9mm Version is 21 rounds in the mag, plus 1 in the pipe. the Glock 17 LEO Model only has 17 rounds in the mag plus 1 in the pipe.

what I can't get past is why the holder of the gun is extending his middle finger...

Stupid gun porn.
Chaos Muffin
It's aiming below her neck. What a cheap titty shot.

Anyone consider that the gun holder is showing them the gun and not threatening them with it..?

btw, it's Myles, not Miles.

Is this the same website where they discussed about the new figures being simplified in order to better appeal to the target consumers (namely children)?

I'm a bit confused seeing they now advertise guns...

Oh and don't get me wrong, this is not bigotry, on the contrary: there's nothing we Europeans like more than watching your candle light vigils after every school shooting, knowing it's all crocodile tears...

No seriously now, you telling me you really can't see the connection between your relaxed attitude towards weapons and the number of gunshot murders - especially when people are incoraged to develope an interest for guns since their childhood.

Ok it's an action movie we're talking about. You can't ban weapons completely everywhere. But here you're mixing fiction with real guns. You're advertising them and you're giving technical details.... c'mon!!!!

What the heck are you talking about? It came from a Facebook page about guns, not Transformers toys.
Hadlen_Weltall
Talk about subversive advertising. "If Transformers movies are just toy commercials, why not sell our products too?"

Overreact much... Its a tie in to the Movie- more so its most likely the company that provides KSI their weapons - The guys seen in the first trailer looking for Prime when they get to Marky Mark's house...

So how's the Utopia known as Europe during today? Might want to research some history some history before you speak.

This is a Bay Film. Chances are the scene involves something to make them be scared but look doofy at the same time.

Don't act like you speak for all of Europe. Ever hear of an Italian gun manufacturer called Beretta? For fuck's sake.

Beretta is Italian, but they're not dumb enough to let people actually carry them around in Italy, are they?

What you've done, is make an excellent point about an arms manufacturer being allowed to advertise their guns on a kids toy tie-in movie, but then you made the douchebag comment about candlelit vigils and lost all credibility.

Not all Americans are pro-guns and even a part time Americaphile like me understands the need to be able to use a rifle in the countryside, and yes, even a handgun, as in the example with bears and mountains earlier. That said the fact the US allows people to have them in cities - well, that's BS crazy and the death rate facts speak for themselves.

The real issue here is the morality of letting an arms manufacturer on board. Paramount - more likely Bay - must've allowed this, and that's up to them, but for Hasbro it's morally reprehensible.

And as an American who lives in America I can tell you that States/Cities that allow carrying of pistols have far less crime than those who ban carrying of weapons. The two cities that have the highest crime and Murder rate- Chicago, Il and Washingotn D.C. and both hand pistol bans until the US Supreme Court found the ban to be unconstitional.

Its a PROVEN FACT- and the FACTS come form the FBI - states/ cities with open access to weapons have a far less crime/death rate than those with severe laws/resctrictions on weapons.

No offence, but that's just nonsense. The fact is your gun murder rate is eight times higher than countries with a similar social, economic and democratic position to you.

And the voilent crime rate in countries such as Austrlia and England using weapons such as knifes is 10 times higher than what it is in the US.

And you are lumping the whole country into one. I know why you do it, but you have to realize half the country has laws that allow these types of crimes to happen, the other half of the country has less restrict laws and the crime/murder rate corrsponds with it. There are federal laws, but those are the basic baseline. There is no "National standard in the US other than the Federal background check

The states with "open access" such as Arizona, New Hampshire, Texas etc, have much lower crime rates than state that have restrictive laws such as California, New York, Massachusetts and Conneticut ( who already had strict gun laws during the Newtown shooting)

Well, that would be because he's not aiming it at them, but that piece of plexiglass (or whatever it is) in front of them. They're showing it off to whomever is holding it.

I do, if you also notice, the forefinger isn't on the trigger, either. This is a show and sell segment of the film, people, nothing more.

Exactly. Criminals are criminals. They don't follow laws, and gun law is no exception. If you melted down every firearm in the US, people would still find another way to kill each other.

Regardless of your position on gun ownership, I do think it's messed up that they're using this movie as an advertisement, but it's not like highlighting the specs will mean anything to a child anyway.

Ok wow, looking at the Company Website -

Salient Arms International

This is a Brand new company - they are using TF4 as a platform to launch their new gun line and I thought it was just a promo company / side venture just for the film...

This is in very very bad form.

Agreed. (cross posted with you originally BTW)

I think whatever our position on gun ownership is, we could all agree this is well off. Shocked at Hasbro if they knew about this, tbf.

Really, though, who's going to notice a pistol as marketing? Unless someone in the movie outright says the company name, make, model, caliber, etc, the average person isn't going to get it. Children have no concept of gun manufacturers.

To everyone BUT gun enthusiasts it's nothing more than a generic black gun.

Can anyone confirm the guns used by KSI on the trailer are the same?

Working on it, but its hard given in the trailer we only see m4 and 416s, and the pistols are holstered, but I'm checking to see if I can find the "copper" colored parts through the holster, however I would venture a guess, seeing that the pistols are "High Level" and having compensator cuts standard out of the factory that these are indeed used by KSI- given their status as Spec ops. Hell maybe Crosshair's pistols are modified versions of these.

EDIT: Just spoke with a very nice lady at Salient Arms- The are a "full Spectrum" pistol maker /modifier. Yes they did all the Pistols for TF4. ( At least in the US)

The above Pistols are Salient Arms Elite Tier 1 Pistol- This is built in House- complete custom starting at $2500-this is "their" gun

Tier 2 and Tier 3- Salient takes existing Glocks, S&W M&P and other high level pistols and modify them with muzzle brakes, accurized barrel, fluted barrel, etc.. Start @$1800 plus your weapon. ( tempted to send them my glock for a "3rd" party upgrade.)

Their website will be live within the next 30 days - still building it.
