transformers should not have hair. or anything that looks like hair.

Hmmm...the hair/'stache makes me think Einstein/old guy (although I'm guessing that's fiber optic cable supposedly?), and it looks like he's got some kind of glasses.

It's kinda cool. Aside from the hair that is. There's gotta be a more robotic way of representing hair.

Also, since those head on poles represent guides for where the actors are to look, it would seem he's kinda short, compared to Bumblebee.

Doc Brown Wheeljack? I'm down.

Ugly face design. Not liking it.

Have it be voiced by Christopher Lloyd, and have it say: "I WAS FROZEN...TODAY!" and I'll live with it.

the best i can hope is Preceptor with fiber optic cables as his "hair", but even then its meh... the worse is if this is indeed wheeljack... :/

If people really don't like this, I'd suggest kicking up a big stink about it. Since they're still filming, the effects aren't finalised. It shouldn't be too late to change this.

Interesting. Not a bad design, imho (keep in mind this is early, and for all we know it could be just a concept). The eyes remind me of Skids and Mudflap, and the overall theme seems to fit a movie-verse Wheeljack (maybe he's their grandfather?). Could also be Silverbolt, but that's less likely, imo.

Definitely taking a wait-and-see approach to this. Way too early to judge it just yet.

Looks like Sam was wrong. Einstein was right... because he was a Transformer!

I'm torn. THis is eather more crappy than Skids and Mudflap, or the most gloriously crazy design ever. If it's voiced by Lloyd, I'll lean towards option number two.

I'm not really sure what to think about it yet, but it certainly looks interesting. The hair kind of made me laugh when I looked at it though.

I really like the face part of the design. A lot of character in there. I definitely like it better than ROTF Jetfire's head design.

And the idea of doing Wheeljack as an Einstein-type is pretty clever in how it ties in with the G1 head.

The only thing I don't like is how they handled the hair.

It looks a heck of a lot like Albert Einstein, which looks absolutely awful for a Transformer.

I've loved almost all of the movieverse designs, but if that's Wheeljack, I'm going to be really bummed.

Im liking it. I can buy living, sentient alien robots that turn into cars, so i can buy the idea of them having some form of hair. Not too much of a stretch really when you think about it.



Its not Silverbolt since Uncle Phils voice wont suit that face...im thinking maybe even Kup. Whoever it is its someone without a useful alt mdoe during the chicago scenes since we havent seen anything that would resemble the alt mode for an "old man" tf.

ok fine, good point... there are a select few others you could mention too... unicron, scourge and wreck-gar come to mind, but it doesn't look bad on those characters... this looks like a transformer wearing a doc brown wig and it just doesn't look right. even rotf jetfire's "beard" didn't look as bad as that...

I dunno, that Mercedes still remains unexplained on set. Considering that the plates for said Mercedes were German, and that this new head that looks strkingly alot like an older Albert Einstein who was (you guessed it) German, I'm thinking there's a connection here.

I'm wondering if, whoever this guy is, he's like Jetfire in that he's a "seeker". TF's can re-scan alt. modes, as Bumblebee proved in the very first movie.

i really have no problem with a Cybertronian Einstein look-alike... but if this is wheeljack, its completely out of character as he's more a mechanic/engineer figure than a scientist...

him being Kup will be okay... but wheeljack... ehh, doesnt quite work as well.

It's not about whether it makes sense or not for transformers to have hair. It's just that it looks ugly to represent hair like this.

Well, for an engineer Wheeljack has a lot of mad scientist mojo going.

He can work as either or. Perceptor is more of a by-the-book labrat.

Right, and Armada Wheeljack was SO much like G1 Wheeljack in character and even look. Or, to use an in-movie comparison, Blackout was the exact same in G1 and the movie.

Name re-use isn't new, so if this does turn out to be Wheeljack, at least he looks like a man of science (or at least a guy who helped build the nuclear bomb, which is something Wheeljack would have done eventually I'm guessing)

i had a really interesting thought... They eyes do have somewhat of a resemblance to skids and mudflap... and we've seen skids and mudflap combine in alt mode... what if they are given a combined robot mode in this movie, and their combined form is say wheeljack or perceptor. i think it would be rather ironic and honestly fairly clever if the 2 dumbest autobots combined to form a genius autobot mad scientist type... it wouldn't be the first time we've had a combiner perceptor and it solves the the problem of what to do with the most controversial autobots from the last film

I have to say that hair looks TERRIBLE. If they insist on hair then please at least make it look like cables, not actual hair. And the face looks like an old skids/mudflap brother.

I'm hopeful for this movie but I do not like that face at all.
