Mysterious Eyes on Revenge of the Fallen Superion Box Belong to The Fallen

Posted on 11-23-2008 at 05:23 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
Fallen-Eyes
We have received confirmation from the TFW TF2 Insider that the mysterious set of eyes seen on the officially released Revenge of the Fallen packaging images belong to The Fallen! Yes! Not only did the official images give us our first look at the packaging for the new Movie toys, but it also teased us with a look at the face of The Fallen himself!

I was also thinking what that could be.
looks somewhat like a skull.
OmegaVPrime
I would imagine it would look somthing like a protos arcon from starcraft, only more huminoid? It sounded cool in my head, what do you think KJ?
kjeevahh
i think that if it is the centrepoint of the packaging for a film called revenge of the fallen, there's only one character it could be. im sure he'll look alot more murderous than an archon too!
Bumblejazz
It looks like a cross between Starscream and Bonecrusher.
kjeevahh
i think it's quite obviously the same eyes as are shown in the background of the cover to the prequel comic, the same prequel comic that was stated as revealing who the fallen is:

Soundwave84
I dont know if i am completely agreeing that this is really the fallen
Nachtsider
Where is that first pic from again?
Bottom Out
where did that red picture of nothingness come from?
kjeevahh
its not nothingness, it's clearly a decepticon's eyes, split up in the same way as barricade and brawl, and it's the centrepiece of the revenge of the fallen toy packaging, as seen containing the target ROTF superion set.

MBSHOOT
If only we could see the top of the box!

Ok we are all getting a little to upsessed now...lol
Bottom Out
thanks for the picture, but maybe its just a box design and isnt anything specific
ckbuddha
it might be nothing, but the box art looks suspiciously like a flat skin for a polygon model. if you play first person shooters, or messed with mods you'll know what i'm talking about.
SPLIT LIP
How do we know it's his head? Or any part of him? Or any robot? Or anything besides just box details for that matter?

I suppose the red "lights" to either side could be the eyes, with the prominent design being the forehead...
Poho
this pretty much confirms my adamant early beliefs that megatron is in fact not the fallen

like i said, the prequel comic was stated to reveal who the fallen is, and on the cover, has a set of eyes appearing out of the flash of light behind wreckage. you can see this on page 1, where i posted the comic cover.

the design from the packaging is clearly the same set of eyes. so these eyes are the centrepiece of the comic which reveals who the fallen is, and also the cenrepiece of the packaging for the movie toys. i think that's pretty conclusive evidence.

here's a direct comparison if you still aren't convinced:

Overhaulimus
Soundwave.

Don't ask me why,but Soundwave.

It's a set of eyes. It's like that time Metal Gear Solid 2 was coming out and the ninja was shown in the trailer and you briefly saw a face behind the mask. You know what it is but none of what it means.

This is kinda fun actually, I mean, those eyes could be ANYTHING. But we'll know soon enough.

The real question is, have you found the hidden Decepticon logo on the packaging?

There's also an Autobot logo next to the wing of the upper left bot.

Funny, wasn't even paying that much attention to the inside of the box until your post..like the cyberglyphs!

i hate to say it, but this is so far the best bit of official information about rotf we've gotten so far in terms of what the fallen may be

Although I've not done a side-by-side, the general layout upon quick inspection looks to me like Devestator TF1 head - not colors, just eye angle and spacing. It would make sense to me that if Devestator is in TF2, that it would have the G1 name of Devestator. As that was an on-screen name already, The TF1 bot would need to come back, beit in a rebuilt or newly created manner. If this were true, then perhaps, perhaps this was teased by Lennox saying 'that thing's definitely dead now', and he wasn't - they couldn't keep him down. Perhaps Barricade held specific skills for creating combining bots, and collected parts of Bonecrusher and Devestator, with the plan of making a bigger bot later. I just enjoy flights of fancy - I didn't get much sleep last night.

Okay, got me, I missed that one!

My money is either on a faceplate of some kind or a set of double doors to some ancient cybertronian chamber.
kjeevahh
its not doors, its exactly what the decepticon eyes looked like in the first film, take a look at a close up of barricade or brawl. it's definitely not brawl though, here's a side by side, no match -

That's an interesting thought. Like maybe some doors under Egypt the imprison the Fallen.

Orci has denied that BC and Brawl will appear.

Nah, back in July Furman/IDW confirmed the Fallen was the villain and that he was based upon the Fallen seen in The War Within: The Dark Ages.

Both interviews were soon edited to remove all references to the Fallen.
Paradigm-Shift Prime
I think we can say with 95% sureness or more that those eyes are those of The Fallen.

For people saying it could just be nothing...c'mon?! Yeah it's the centerpiece of the ROTF packaging and the background on the prequel comic but means nothing at all...

but when they retracted it, it kind of took away the oficcialness of it
this is so far the best real thing we've gotten

Looking again, I still say the best bet is the white "glowing" spots on either side being eyes. That way that center designis either a nose or a faceplate, maybe a grill face to homage the Fallen's faceplate with the slits in it?
Takara_destron
Oooh most interesting.
Starscreamer95
Looks very evil, and creepy... I like it!
hollowed
I'm still not seeing it even after seeing the pictures someone earlier in the thread put up. It just looks like box design to me. I can see where the idea comes from based on the comic book design but just not seeing it in the box design
bongzoe
i think the back of the inside of the box looks as if were in egypt. could it be that the fallen is hiding in egypt?
Smokescreen
Looks good to me. Can't wait to see what the rest of the Fallen looks like!
Bottom Out
i have officially now lost all faith in the tfw insider

just beause its in th emiddle of the packaging doesnt mean that its the centerpiece, you can barely even notice it on the box. The design barley matches the image on the comics as well. Looks like a lot of wishful thinking that the "Tfw insider" picked up on and then "officially confirmed" after he saw the people on here making a big deal out of it
Jaz
I don't think the Tfw insider has confirmed any of this.
lightdestroyed
I'm not gonna believe a goddamn thing from here on on out, until I see the movie for myself.
optimusprime42
it's false... just a close up could be anything
G1Wheeljack
Nice, can't wait for a full image of him.

Furman said the same at the comics panel at Auto Assembly back in August - Hasbro/IDW/Paramount can't edit what my ears heard then.
Rayzilla Prime
Those eyes remind me of Makuta from Bionicle: Mask of Light.

That's all I gotta say (not that I'm complaining).
Kupp
Looks like E.T. to me.

Quick Fallen phone home.

I wonder, will he have a magic glowing finger.

But seriously, it looks like E.T. to me.
