Baird:
Very exciting news. At least two of these vehicles appear to be utterly monstrous in scale and even the smaller ones look really big. Now I just have to hope the robot form won't be a giant metal spider or something..
a person:
...Interesting.

The dump-truck looks to be a different model than what was shown with the concept art for Long Haul.

Seriously, The 49ers all wear the same uniform, the Marines have the same uniform, that's part of being a TEAM.. The Constructicons are a team within the Decepticon faction, and should all be the same color. *sigh*

Sad... as of right now, the RAIDERS have a better score card than Michael Bay.... heh

Of the G1 combiners, only the original Constructicons and the Seacons had a colour-coordinated team. The rest were in non-matching colours. Maybe you should build a time machine and sort that out.

One thing to consider is that construction vehicles tend to look samey. Making them in different colours means you can at least try to tell them apart.

Although to be fair we really shouldn't expect each Constructicon to be more than a generic grunt/cannon fodder, so it really doesn't matter.

OMG this is gonna be though why two dump trucks?

And the Predacons and Technobots!/geek voice
Akumaxv:
As awesome as all this is, I can't shake this nagging feeling that they are going to build up all this anticipation for Devastator and have a human defeat him by stringing a rope across a street and having him trip or something. They might as well have him slip on a banana peel.

I just can't see the vehicles being the sizes we are seeing now. With seven robots combining, Devastator is going to be the size of a skyscraper. That's going to look ridiculous on screen unless they are planning to have the Autobots and him duke it out in the desert or the ocean.
Lion:
This is gonna be great. Is anyone working on photoshop devi already?? Come on, get on it!!!
DrLee:
I'm not going to repeat my opinion on the authenticity of TFW TF2 Insiders reports....but i think this could be an interesting foe for the movie....

I wouldn't--lobster claws would be great. And so would a lobster-face! And a lobster-butt!
Fosterlager:
They look like great choices of vehicles. I'm eager to see the toys.
Deonasis:
Strange they are all from different companies. Is there a parent company (like GM) for all of these?

Anyone care to place guesses down on how the body will be split up? I think I'd prefer each lower leg to be a vehicle each. Then the hips and thighs be one robot. Then have the upper torso/ shoulders/ head be two robots attached vertically like Jetstorm and Jetfire. Then the two arms be individual robots.

Some people just don't get the fact that TFW has an actual reliable anonymous inside source. Isn't it the same guy who brought us all the juicy info from the first movie that was ALL TRUE?

I just find it a little weird that we were told that there was going to be false things leaked, yet everything that comes down the pipes is considered to be true.
DrLee:
There's also the fact That all the source does is say 'XYZ' and it's taken as fact.... They don't provide anything that backs up the statements.

If it's real.. then please give us somekind of proof other than your word....

If it's false........then why did i see a comment stating that the source is accurate from someome in power on here?
rapid_fire:
tfw staff don't get their news from someone who "found" leaked info or anything liek that.

they get this info from the higher ups working on these projects, guys like aaron archer, etc.

sure, things are always subject to change, but its reliable info that is true at the time

I said that weeks ago The seventh is his crotchal area. Can't have the big clip like the toy.
Bahamut Prime:
COOOL!!!! Can't wait to see him in action when all these vehicles (along with the seventh) are together!

Think he's going to need to take it back to the pants store?

I second the idea of a symmetrical-docked torso, but then where would the head come from? Hopefully not like Animated Safeguard, the Two-Face look would kinda suck for Devastator.

Don't forget that higher ups are not absolute sources either. Think about the TF animated "news" that was fake recently. How many times have the official movie crew told us something wasn't this or that and it turned out to be?

I find it just a little weird that Michael Bay rants a little about an alleged "misinformation campaign", and people take THAT at face value.

well, if we exclude that statement, I don't think he has said anything untrue about either of the transformer films. Can you remember anytime he has given wrong info?

This is good news, especially if that beige D9L turns out to be a reanimated Bonecrusher.

Bay saw your reply, and now has the two alt modes he needed for Trypticon and Metroplex, thanks!

Maybe they are in Dubai constructing some ridiculous thing that people in dubai have been building and combine, and that is when the rumored Autobot battleship transformer docked at Dubai transforms to battle the combined Devistator

or something like that
Zaraxion1021:
OMG!! Those are awesome!! Too bad they dont have similar paintjobs. I cant wait to see a live action version of Devestator!!
Moonscream:
Huh...something about them being such a cacophony of colors sounds a bit off. No, I don't want green and purple - just some better color coordination.

Still...freaking huge! OOOO!

Moy:
So does this mean BONECRUSHER won't be in the movie?
Please don't tell me so..
Moy:
Can anyone ask Bay or Orci if BONECRUSHER is returning?
Obliterator:
Can I inject some common sense into this thread?

Having looked at the altmodes in the first post, I can say it probably won't happen. Here's why I think that:

1: None of those vehicles are street legal. Many are shipped to the location where they'll work in pieces, assembled on the spot, and never leave the area. Even the big dump truck is done that way.

2: Even the cheapest of the vehicles is still up in the million dollar price range. The Big Dump truck is around 7 million, while the big excavator runs over 10 million. Even renting them for a few days would kill the budget, which would mean Devastator would have to die within the first 3 minutes of forming.

If we do get Devastator in TF2, he'll probably be made from the common construction vehicles you see working on the streets of your hometown. Which would still make for one big bot.
llamatron:
I'm sure someone else has already mentioned this, but the Bulldozer is "beige" - and Bonecrusher was kind of beige (ish) in the first movie... MAYBE HE'S COMING BACK!?!?

Oh boy I do love starting wild rumours.
Smeg:
Oh shit Bumblebee, what are we gonna do now?
Methos:
I just hope we don't have to wait half a year after the movie to build Devastator.
Incepticon:
Even if this ends up being true, I'm holding back my excitement/cynicism until I see what the finished version looks like. I have a feeling it will be such a mess of mashed & splintered metal that there's a good chance it won't end up looking like anything at all, let alone a giant robot that you can tell head from tail.

Amazing things they can do with CG these days. If ILM could make real-looking dinosaurs for Jurassic Park fifteen years ago, just imagine how realistic they could make computer-generated construction vehicles look today. I'm not saying that every single shot of these vehicles will be computer generated, but if using the actual vehicles would kill the budget as you claim, it'd probably be easier to go the computer-generated route for the vast majority of the shots and composite them in.
