As fans of TF we should hope the script wasn't stolen and won't be leaked. Bay and his team worked hard to keep the plot secret, and some schmuck broke in and might have stolen it.

Poor Bay, it's sucks being a victim to crime.

Yeah it was some guy who overreacted to bays designs "FOR RAPING HIS CHILDHOOD DOOOOOD!" SO hes stalked Bay and at the right moment he stole all the stuff, and is going to burn it and dance around it in a Gen 1 Optimus costume! ROFL Sadly I could also see that hapening.

That is really not awesome.

I know it can be difficult, but my hopes are that Mr. Bay (and any other creative staff involved) don't misjudge the majority of us who don't want these things to happen. Personally, I'm very grateful for the HARDwork that has been done towards respecting the franchise, stories, heritage, and characters that we all are so fond of. The level of involvement from Hasbro/Paramount and our fandom here is very much appreciated.

I hate how a few bad apples can leave a bad taste in the mouth for a whole bunch; I hope such isn't the case here

On another note, it is possible that the burglars had no idea that it was Mr. Bay's place. That doesn't make it any better for me, but I just wanted to throw that hypothetical scenario out there.

Also, I really hope that the persons who do these types of things aren't stupid enough to make themselves known to the TF fandom. I'll just leave that thought there.

Wow. So, let's recap:

1.) When "Extreme Home Makeover" came here, the production truck was vandalized and the producer's car was stolen.
2.) The governor banned "COPS" from ever coming back to the state because it "made us look bad (I thought the rampant & pregnant teens did that?)."
3.) Governator Schwarzenegger denounced "Terminator Salvation" because we "stole" the movie from California & probably won't cameo as a result.
4.) Michael Bay's apartment got broken into.

I know I'm missing something here (pretty sure it has to do with either "The Spirit" or Jessica Alba), but I think we all get the gist of it: If you're from Hollywood and you come here, prepare to have you shit fucked with.

Why the hell would it be some '07-film-hating-ranter when, if whoever did this did know it was Bay's place (it's an apartment, and no one's said what was stolen), it was likely film-loving-nutcase (not because they like the film, but because they broke into a domicile and stole) trying to get the next inside scoop? You know, scoop, like the leaked images, videos, info, etc that so many have released without consent, taped without permission on legally closed sets/areas, obtained illegally and released so fans could happily chew the fat on the subject.

That would totally be worth a few news credits.

Sucks to get violated like that. I hope anything stolen is replaceable and not some family jewels or trinkets that are priceless. If it was just a TF script, that's kind of lame.

If on the other hand it's a publicity stunt that's over the top unnecessary. This movie doesn't really need a whole lot of promotion, the first one kicked box office ass and people will see #2 for that reason alone. If this one sucks the word will get out after it's released

But back on topic, I completely agree with Eric on this: how does this warrant front paging? If we turned out to have solid evidence of evil, rabid fans stealing images or scripts, that would be one thing. But as of this point, we have no such evidence, so it is not clear how this deserves the TFW2005 bump.

I think it's just something that is interesting and could be related to tf and this is where bay is staying while working on tf. It's similar to stories about what's his name drunk driving or getting arrested. Not necessarily directly related to tf. So i guess that's why it's up here. I'm fine with it

I would bet that all the burgler might have known is that there was a 'famous Hollywood director' temporarily living there. And maybe Bay should have been staying in a somewhat richer neighborhood for security reasons, and/or installed better security when he got there.
