We know, we know… this is a conversation that is happening almost all the time. But is Michael Bay really handing over the Transformers Movies to a new Director this time? During an interview with USA Today, the director; whose latest Transformers movie made $1 Billion at the Box-Office, hinted that he is moving ahead with new projects.
This is what USA Today has to say…
Bay is delving further into TV with both Last Ship and Starz’s Black Sails, which kicked off in January and has filmed its second season. The hands-on producer keeps track of multiple projects from his high-tech screening room in.“Literally, it looks like NASA mission control,” he says. “I am always loaded with what’s going on. I like to keep my eyes on everything.”
The Bay streak continues with the horror film Ouija (out Oct. 24)and sci-fi thriller Project Almanac (Jan. 30, 2015), both of which he produced, and he’s working on another undisclosed TV project. Bay, 49, believes he will pass the baton for future Transformer movies to a new director while he turns his focus elsewhere.
“There’s kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make,” says Bay, who is eyeing a passion project, a documentary on elephant poaching. “I have a lot of stories to tell. And it’s about flexing new muscles.”
Recently, Paramount extended their deal with Michael Bay for another 3 years. But we do not know what role he will play in future Transformers movies.

Yes. Stop Motion/CGI style movie like the Lego movie would be awesome.

There are the new deceüricons roundtable Galvatron, and there are still autobots on Earth
And lockdown is the Proof that a Lot More Transformers are out there
eagc7
Who the Creators are. thats what else is there
and there are more Decepticons and Autobots out there, we just havent seen them, i highly doubt Hasbro and such would say that the robots seen in AOE are the last of their kind, that would cause Hasbro to not be able to do toys for new on-screen characters. which is exactly the reason they got rid of most of the 2007-2011 cast, so that they could make toys for new on-screen characters
that was the plan until Cade talked to Optimus to keep protecting mankind
Lazerwave
Do you think it's better if they just end it now?
There are no more Autobots or Decepticons
Optimus left earth
Cade and his family now move on
They claim that getting the seed is their last mission
What else is there?

I just want live action G1 Masterpiece style Transformers on the big screen because they would look fucken awesome.

Best Director Besides Michael Bay
Apparently there are rumors that Michael Bay won't be directing the next 2 Transformers due to his involvement in other multiplei projects.
If he decides to hand over, I can only recommend one person.
Nelson Shin.
He is the guy who directed the animated movie and is one of the best if not the best.
You can read more about him here.
Afterburner
New director won't matter if Michael is involved in any capacity – see TMNT.
Joyraid
Yeah, we wish.

Give it to Christopher Nolan "The Dark Knight" director.. He would mos def make a perfect plot and twist on TF movies..
Aussietrooper20
I also hope that they make them look more like the G1 versions. Michael Bay version looks man made.
Aussietrooper20
I hope that who ever gets the job reboots the transformers films and making it start with a big war on cybertron from the start till the middle of the film and then see the transformers come to earth and stay in status till our time and start fighting for energon like in the animation and comics.

We're 4 movies in. Aside from the first one, this franchise is terrible and there is little chance of saving it now. However, if Paramount is serious about finishing strong with quality TF films, Neill Blomkamp or Duncan Jones would be fantastic choices.

The damage has already been done though. I guess the one positive is that the next guy won't have to do much to improve on what we've gotten so far. I already don't consider these last four pieces of s**t TF's movies anyway so I'll gladly continue to be patient for a proper live action movie iteration.

I'll grant you that, and I'm sorry if I went overboard. I just get lumped into that category so often simply because I'm so vehemently opposed to this series that anytime someone mentions G1-only fans when replying to something I said, I snap. Call it one of my berserk buttons.

Kay.
Technically I never did actually call you a G1 fanatic, specifically.

I'm perfectly happy with many other incarnations of Transformers other than G1, and there are some versions and elements of G1 I don't like. Don't fucking assume that just because I hated these movies since film 1 that I am a die-hard G1 worshiping fanatic.

Sure, just about everyone puts explosions in their action movies, but Bay is the guy who is know for it, usually because he'll actually make things that normally have no business blowing up explode into a fireball.
Rob
I think this would be a great opportunity for the movie franchise to start fresh and allow the chance for the franchise to improve its image as a respectable piece of box office science fiction.
PS I want Ironhide to come back to life in red with a southern accent

I watched Man of Steel and it feels like Snyder had more explosions than Bay! Seriously. They can have scenes in the Bay movies where the Autobots aren't destroying everything, yet Superman could play pool in a Snyder film and San Francisco would be sliding into the ocean from the aftershock.
