 | | | Michael Bay says Thank You to the Fans | | Posted on 06-26-2009 at 06:58 PM by Sol Fury | Michael Bay has posted a message on Shoot For the Edit thanking the fans for their support on the opening day of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, for making it one of the biggest single opening days in movie history at $60 Million in the US and around $100 million worldwide. The 400 critics around the globe spoke. Then fans around the world spoke.
Transformers made $60.6 million dollars in the United States for a total of around $100 million from the world on opening day! One of the biggest single days in movie history.
Then never seem to understand that I make movies for people to take a ride and escape.
To all the Transformer Fans - Thank You
Michael | | | Views: 2,730 | | SPLIT LIP:
I should be thanking him. He gave me everything I wnated in a TF movie.
Embryoyo:
Thank you Michael Bay Backscatter:
Thank you Mr. Bay and you are quite welcome for the support! transformers32:
Thanks for making 2 and hopefully another one for us. Man some ppl on here are assholes with all this negative talk.
AutobotSkids:
Again, thanks for the great Movie Michael Bay.
As to all the haters, honestly, he's thanking US. US fans! There's no need for saying how u hated it or crap like that.
Oh well, haters hate, lovers love, and you Michael Bay, Make my favorite movie series. Liege Prime:
In response to Bay: Ayyyy! No problem. I had a great time with the movie.
Everyone has to stop taking movies so serious and maybe stop kidding themselves when they may have thought the transformer movie franchise was going to be the kind of movie that relies purely on script to carry it. Either way, there are plenty of Jane Austin based movies and foreign movies for people to watch if they don't want a big budget Summer action movie. Not every movie is made to viewed by the same criteria. I would certainly be upset if Little Women 2 was all robot carnage, but not Transformers 2.
Fairlady_Z:
Thank you Mr. Bay and you're welcome. Was it a perfect movie? No. But it was definately good enough that it has me grinning ear to ear to see my favorite franchise shattering box office records and having not only its days in the sun but assuring that thanks to such a great response there will be many more to come (not just for the movie stuff either, but for whatever cool things the future of the franchise might hold). I like seeing the words "Transformers" and "success story" in the same sentance. And yes, I can't wait to see the movie again.
plowking:
You're welcome Mr. Bay. And thank you for an awesome movie.
Go, enjoy your vacation, rest up, and come back with a part three that'll knock our socks off!! SmokescreenGT:
No, thank YOU Mr. Bay. The movie was Orochi_Rockman:
*sigh* You're welcome Bay. Take your time off to find other things in the world that are funny besides balls.
anemis:
well we,re the ones giving him money so it,s the least he can do lol... on the other hand he gave us a great movie so we,re even !!
process:
Yet another satisfied customer here.
Incepticon:
It's a tad disturbing to see how many people think that a generic little note posted on the internet (which every celeb does now) is a 'personal' thanks to them directly. More disturbing is how many people think this was such a cool thing for him to do - to take less than one minute out of his schedule to brag, misspell, say thanks and type his name.
It sure doesn't take much anymore.
Soundwave84:
Okay so i have heard the negitive and the postive i have heard hate and love I am conserned as i go next weekend to see the movie but...then i thought wasnt the cartoon that we all love and know kinda corney and silly. I say thank you Michael Bay and i am sure i will enjoy the movie and the future of our hobby.
MegatronSupporter:
Thank you Bay for your dedication and hard work for trying to make a Transformers sequel as best as you could.

It sure doesn't take much anymore. | We're not kneeling at his feet worshipping him, but it was posted so why not say something back? Ok, it won't do any good and he may not care, but good gosh, have you been around the movie forums? I've found this to be a nice little thread compared to the flame wars going on in there, like or hate the movie and Bay.
Opticron Primal:
Yeah, this is a thread that shouldn't have any negativity. Thanks to Bay, The Transformers are back in the public eye.
Torque:
you're welcome-and THANK YOU for one of my favorite franchises becoming a movie, and for making my favorte movie.

It sure doesn't take much anymore. | You should take this hate to the movie forum where it belongs.
Thanks, Mike! I'm sure I'll be thanking you a few more times before ROTF leaves the theaters. IACON:
Even though I completely don't support him and his film adaptations, it is very surprising to see him thanking the fans.
SMS55:
Thank you for making a live action Transformers to the big screen. And thanks for listening. We wanted Prime to kick ass, and more robots, and we got exactly that.

And as for the whole " LISTEN TO US, listen to fandom." That's Impossible, because not one fan agrees with another. Some fans actually did like the movie, even if some fans did not.
You can't please everybody.
faithingruden:
Youre welcome Mr. Bay, and thank you for the action, sir. Well Done!!

That's why I said it's a tad disturbing as opposed to 'you guys are delusional' or anything accusatory like that. Quote:

Opticron Primal:
How is thanking him for making a movie franchise most of us like hero-worship?
IACON: Quote:

cooptimas prime: thank you Michael Bay for one hell of a ride
Richard Prime:
Thank you Bay
I hope Bay will realased a bit of answers soon
Telling us how many cons surive and Devy will still be alive afterall the arms parts did not blow to bits only the body, not sure about the legs I think they were attached to the body when he fall from the pyramid
Does anybody argree with me on this?
eisen:
thanks for making a Transformers movie again
Boulder:
Your welcome and thank you for showing respect to our favorite franchise. I may not always agree with your approach to scenes or aesthetics, but I can't think of too many filmmakers that could actually make a toy movie watchable. (Looking at you GI Joe and He-Man.) Take some well deserved time away from Transformers and do something else. We'll be here when you get back. And that obviously includes all the people who hated your work in the first one sooooo much that they had to run out on opening week to see the sequel.
Richard Prime:
Hey Bay bring back Devastator for number 3
topnotch97: all hail michael bay!!!!

Feralstorm:
Aww, thanks back at ya, Michael!
Tune in again in a few days when someone says something to piss him off and he calls us all morons again. Ash from Carolina:
I know I'm the crazy one but shouldn't we at least wait until the second weekend before we start declaring every man, woman and child on the face of the planet loved the movie.
Ang Lee's Hulk big opening weekend. Spiderman 3 big opening weekend. Indiana Jones 4 big opening weekend. So big opening weekend doesn't mean a movie that everyone who saw it loved.
On the other hand Dark Knight big opening weekend and by and large people still love it. Ironman big opening weekend and people still seem to love it. So big opening weekend can mean a movie people still love later.
Declaring everyone loved the movie and all the critics were wrong when opening weekend isn't even finished is like taking the ratings from the first 5 minutes of the Super Bowl to say everyone loved the game. Lets give the public some time to see if they keep coming back and if they tell their friends to go see the movie or not first.
JetRaid:
I say we all do the Bay emotion HIP HIP HOORBAY!
WOOT
jonatron26:
slow clap.
to join in just type (slow clap +1)
Moy:
Please have the CONSTRUCTICONS return in TF3!!!!!
I'm sure you enjoyed their designs, don't let them go to waste.

Thanks for Thanking the fans Bay, although in truth the fans had absolutely nothing to do with your movies bro. it was all you and your team of Writers.
Fan input was never read you said yourself that you don't read what the people write. so give yourself a big pat on the back for creating your very own universe.
Come To Bay's Dark Side, He's Got Transforming Cookies.
What's Bay Planning for TF3, more potty humor and sex with Robots?
hellrasinbrasin:
I wonder if there is gonna be a cat humping scene in Thundercats to out do the dog humping in Revenge of the Fallen
Huinkimusprime:
Well you are welcome Mr. Bay. Was it a good movie..well no but was it a good Tranformers movie...hell yes! And as TF fans that is all we really wanted. While the plot wasn't perfect it felt like I was watching 2 1/2 hour long G1 cartoon on Saturday mornings again.
So take some time off, maybe dont rush the next plot so quickly but keep the campy story because we love that classic feel baby!
P.S. lets leave Alice very dead!
P.S.S. Prime was sic and I enjoyed that very much, but let Megs get his balls back too and see an epic showdown for the ages in TF3!
TIE Bomber:
Thank you for making my favorite movie of all time. I never had such a good time at the movies before.
doomboy536:
Thank you Mr Bay. Please don't listen to the whiney fanboys, most of us are actually a decent bunch who appreciate seeing Transformers on the big screen.
Ah, who am I kidding. We don't 'appreciate it', we bloody love it! Optimus Peev:
Always nice to see a little fan appreciation from MB....considering he spent the greater part of two years lying about so many things with his mis-information campaign (which I thought was genius, BTW).
Personally, I like Bay's directing style and most of his movies.
I liked Pearl Harbor.......oh yeah, I went there.....
TF2 was a solid flick.
[Wing_Saber-X]:
NO, THANK-YOU, Mr. Bay & Co. ; ; out of 4 's Pravus Prime:
Since you're so grateful, can I have my $4 back?
