Michael Bay says Thank You to the Fans page1_blog_entry509-11871890
Michael Bay has posted a message on Shoot For the Edit thanking the fans for their support on the opening day of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, for making it one of the biggest single opening days in movie history at $60 Million in the US and around $100 million worldwide.

The 400 critics around the globe spoke. Then fans around the world spoke.

Transformers made $60.6 million dollars in the United States for a total of around $100 million from the world on opening day! One of the biggest single days in movie history.

Then never seem to understand that I make movies for people to take a ride and escape.

To all the Transformer Fans - Thank You

Michael

TRANS+CRAZY:
Michael Bay's thanking us fans?!

Hey, Michael... YOU ARE SO WELCOME!!!
vincheng2k5:
Wow...even if I didn't think the movie was that great, it's nice of Michael Bay to be thanking the fans for their support. It is Transformers at the end of the day, I suppose.

Now can we get more robot personalities in the next movie? Please?
Yubarules77:
your right M Bay. u did take us on a cool ride

your welcome
Autobot Burnout:
Who cares what the critics say, when the Director himself thanks those who support him?

I say thanks to Michael Bay!
Shin Densetsu:
Did he blow something up?
rattrap007:
Thank you Mr. Bay...
shroobmaster:
No no, I thank him for frying his head on a desert for weeks just to give us 2 hours of fun.
Drpee:
You are very welcome Mr. Bay. Well done!
zynordar:
You're welcome. That said, I'm sure it's possible to make a Transformers movie in the future that can please critics as well as the viewing audience.
frilly toothpick:
its a cool movie and thanks for the splosions mr bay.
Incepticon:
Oh for fu... here we go
Cyber-Scream:
Your very welcome, Mr. Bay. Its nice to see you acknowledge us. Your a legend for making films that include war like themes, and recently with hot babes. And for that we owe you our nerdy thanks back.
AutobotSkids:
I would like to point out that I watched it the day it came out and loved it!

You're welcome, and us fans want to thank you for the great movie!
blackout501st:
no Mr. Bay. thank you. you gave us an awesome thrill ride. we hope you come back for the third film. you did a fantastic job on this one and the first one. you were and still are the perfect man for the job.

here is to you Mr. Bay. no matter what them stupid ass critics say, you know what the hell you are doing. keep doing it!

DrawerDemon:
AGAIN, "taking a ride and escaping" is not an excuse for a sloppy plot and crap continuity.

Mike, you're welcome for my $9. I got exactly $9 worth of fun out of it.
Dran0n:
Welcome! Thanks for directing ROTF.
Opticron Primal:
Hell, Thank you for actually making a live-action thrill-ride. Any other director may have gone kids movie.

So thank you for even doing it.
TheBigBad:
Now that we have given you our hard earned money, how about the next go round you actually LISTEN TO US? LISTEN TO YOUR WRITERS, listen to fandom, and actually make a film that doesn't suck Devastators Balls. You'll make even more money that way doofus.

and THANK YOU Michael! for giving us such a wonderful movie. despite the critiscism and my skepticism of your directing i loved every second of ROTF.
Wh33ls:
Once again, (fan) money speaks louder than (critics) words.

Your welcome, Mr. Bay.
FanimusMaximus:
Your welcome!!!
omegagoalie:
No, no....thank you Mike. Great job my good man. While it is impossible to please everyone, you hit the high 90% tile which is not an easy accomplishment. What do critics know about Transformers anyways? Nothing is the answer. Unfortunately, many members here don't know anything about Transformers either...Great job again, and thanks.
spiritprime:
You're welcome, Bay! Australia seemed to be more entertained than America was. The theatre was PACKED on Wednesday night. The whole seats were full!
username99:
little too late in my case. i paid my 12.50, and came out disappointed.
yawned more than once during the film.

are people here saying they could tell what was going on in the action sequences?

so much stuff bothered me in the film, you would have starscream chasing people, next minute he wouldn't be. then after a pause for some small dialogue starscream would be back chasing sam.

in another scene same thing would happen, megatron would be close to catching sam, next scene megatron has disappeared. what was going on?

the first movie's final battle was better. i had a much larger sense of tension.

another thing. there was no character development. the autobots were so bloodthirsty.
much preferred peace loving Prime of the first movie to the grab a guy's heart through his chest maniac he is in 2.
ShadowStitch:
HAHA! I can't be the only one who is reading his post in an subtly condescending tone:

Yes, basically saying "We will pay to see a movie even if 400 movie critics tells us it's bad."

Yes, he makes movies for people to take rides through shitty cinematography, and escape things like plot and acting and characterization.

"Thank you for being predictable toolbags who will shell out money for anything Transformers-licensed no matter how awful it is."

Though I hear he's going to make good on his Thundercats project...
Rumble02:
thank you for a great summer experience
torpedobarb:
Kudos!

do you guys and gals remember the behind the scenes (second disc from dvd set) when Bay accidentally launched that car too far and got it stuck into the side of the building? that is the type of shit I am talking about! BOOM!
weaponx82:
I enjoyed the movie quite a bit but there was much to be desired. Bay, I kind of thank you for your 'work'. Next movie, how about we delegate you to the sploshuns and robot fights and let someone else direct?
KnightSaberAmi:
Your Welcome and I appreciate the departure from reality every once and again.

Yeah, I could. It was quite easy to follow, actually.
Matterzero:
Your welcome Bay
Eric:
...I kinda want my $10 back. It wasn't bad, the effects were awesome (and I GUESS I can thank you for that), it's just that...I don't think directing's your forte, Bay. It's best you become a consultant for special effects instead.
ManiactoaLaco:
Your welcome MIsta Bay!

MTL
Jetcols:
Wow, some of you just can't be pleased.

Thanks Mr. Bay!
Solrac333:
He should tell the critics, "I"LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!!!!"
SKowl:
Michael, you already thanked me.

You thanked me with offensive, infantile humour, and testicle joke, after testicle joke, after testicle joke.

You thanked me with another film full of characters who are terrible caricatures of certain stereotypes.

You thanked me with characters so bland and boring I caught myself staring at the ceiling instead of the screen.

You thanked me with terrible editing that made my head spin.

You thanked me with camera work so shaky I felt like I was in a washing machine.

You thanked me by raising my hopes to their highest for this movie, only to dash them with your juvenile sense of humour, your shoddy abilities as a third-rate director, and your blatant disregard for the fans, the franchise, and the history they both share.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Ow buddy, need some band-aid for that hurt butt?
TUROK1134:
Actually Bay, I would like to thank you for making such a badass movie.
Vexza:
Thank you, Mr. Bay. 8D
shroobmaster:
P.S. When he said Transformers fans he didn't mean just us, he meant everybody that likes the movies.

Exactly.

And.. he didn't mean the haters. You guys get none of the thank-you's that are going around.
Omega Charge:
Thanks, Mr. Bay. Thanks for all the hard work and time you put into what turned out to be a great, fun, movie.

I yawned during the movie as did the woman next to me, and I've done my fair share of criticising the movie, but regardless of your opinion on the film...it's always nice when someone who has put so much work into the Transformers brand we all love thanks the fans for their support. Your $12.50 is at least going towards ensuring the continuing vitality of the franchise. And as much as I hate the movie, I might go see it again. Maybe spending more money on it will force my mind to correct cognitive dissonance and give me the illusion that it's a good movie.

Seriously. Atleast someone bothered to even make a TF movie.
Shotoman:
I'm not one of the 'thank YOU mr. Bay' guys on this board, nor am I one of the 'thanks but no thanks' guys. The movies have flaws (they are a little heavy on infantile humor), but are to me at least, overall quite satisfying Transformers movies so...

Your welcome, I guess...
ORIO:
All thanks go to you Mr. Bay, I was not let down. I had a great time. Both times I've seen it
SlyTF:
Critics are a load of bullfuck! The movies are the 2 best movies ever!!!

No, no, no...He gets enough hate as it is, we don't need him acting like Uwe Boll or whatever is name is.

Oh, and thanks Mikey. The movie was so stupid it was brilliant and when I saw it here in Korea the whole audience seemed really into it.
