Michael Bay Reveals A Plot Secret From Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction

Transformers-4-Age-Of-Extinction-Set-Visit-Michael-Bay-Hong-Kong
Entertainment Tonight (ET) has aired Part 2 of their Transformers: Age Of Extinction Special and it's off to Hong Kong.

Again, the report seems to confirm few names from the movie, but this time they are humans:

"However, setting up the many explosions, while also simultaneously dealing with distractions from onlookers, leaves the cast with plenty of downtime. When Mark Wahlberg wasn't giving Rocsi tips on how to throw football, he and Jack Reynor were up to no good playing pranks on Nicola Peltz.

"We got Wild Weave Wednesdays...when Mark and I rip out Nicola's weave every Wednesday," shared Reynor (Shane), who plays Peltz's (Tessa) boyfriend in the fourth installment of the Transformers live-action film series."

But it's Director Michael Bay who caught our attention, when he reveals a Plot Secret from the upcoming movie.

Spoiler!

Spoiler!

Well that shows that KSI is important. Very interesting!

That's what I thought, but I didn't want to jump to any conclusions!

That really doesn't give anything away in my book.
Odds are, it's only going to be lightly hinted at.
Like, seriously, When has Micheal Bay ever cared
about establishing the world the characters live in?

Ah man, hope not. It'd be Prime all over again. The way they handled Unicron in that was the biggest cop out ever.

It was a joke guys lol. I'm sure he really meant something in regard to KSI and what tech and advancements they may have introduced to the world.
transformervic1
Interesting to see how this handles. I'd imagine that in the movie the world is extremely fearful and desperate and with TF tech thrown in the mix, makes things alot more chaotic.
HoneyPrime
Huh. Here I thought AOE was referring to Transformers extinction. Perhaps it's humans extinction caused by humans?
Lazerwave
I don't get the spoiler. What does it mean?

Basically, it means... the Human race is just as bad as the Decepticons.

All things point to KSI playing a similar role as the MECH (from Transformers: Prime).

And it wouldn't surprise me if at least some of the Cons are behind it.
Lazerwave
I thought the Extinction in the name meant the Dinobots.

Okay....?

Considering it's Michael Bay, I'm surprised that line doesn't read "The world is progressed/modernized to a point it can almost cannibalize and hump itself."

"This is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a whi-HAHAHAHA what're you thinking?! I'm goddamn Michael Bay, it's going to end with one HELL of a BANG!"

Was that a Ferrari 458?

I didn't see that. All I saw were the Aston Martin rolling with the Pagani and an Orange McLaren, three cars that were spy shoted quite a few weeks ago. I wonder if that enhances their importance then......................

I know the Pagani has been publicly announced, and with the recent possible drop of the Pagani's name, it might be safe to make the assumption of the allegiance of the Aston Martin and McLaren.

Wow shows how much I pay attention. Watched it on TV and that didn't even phase me lol

Yet Unicron is the Anti-Life..............he's a good person to suspect in a movie called "Age of Exticntion" bro.
RodimusZero
Interesting.

It seems everyone is taking the literal interpretation, i.e. Unicron,

I instead read it as mankind being technologically advanced enough to produce their own Transformers, as like in that Dreamwave ark a while back (or was that IDW? can't remember, but the one with Sunstreaker...).

It actually gives more insight into the title. We assumed it was only because the Dinobots would be in it, but now we know, perhaps it is the extinction of the humans..or the world as we know it that the movie will be focusing on.

I doubt Unicron, like...what he said hints nothing at it in my book. Pretty sure he was referring to the fact that the world has advanced in tech and such so far that it is consuming itself in it. What truly comes to mind is Animated...remember all of Detroit was technologically advanced and run by stuff..so I guess that kind of progress in our world is what will help the cons schemes this time and potentially get rid of us all. Or something.

She says "an Optimus Prime makeover"

mfw she's only painting the Autobot symbol on a guy's face...

I wouldn't call that a spoiler, more like a vague tease.

Am I alone in thinking it would be utterly fantastic if our planet was Unicron? We wouldn't have to worry about an asteroid wiping us out. We wouldn't have to figure out space travel because our planet can fricking move around on its own... I would dig living on Unicron!

We are in a dire situation and we need our next fix but can only have little hits of it at a time. Kind of like smoking used buds from an ash tray, not quite perfect but still something. More reveals please, I need it Lol
Explosion_Rex
That statement doesn't make any sense. I don't think Bay even knows what he means.

IDW. The plot of Furman's Machination.

And who knows, maybe Bay has finally grown up a bit and his works willbegin to offer an extra layer of social commentary.

It was already done in TFP and it was a let down and terribly written so no. I like Unicron being an independent planet capable of destroying worlds.
MetalicGrunt
Ok this so so out of left field but here it goes in regards to the "spoiler" and my thoughts

but what if the "Dinobots" were once part of Unicron's Herald and they somehow managed to break free from Unicron's control...

Also what if KSI has created headmaster or Drone tech.. IE Black Zarack type Drones or maybe a Z Foundation.

So what does this have to do with the Dinobots?
Dormamu
Here's the plot - There isn't one. Bots, boobs, blosions, done.

On an on topic, it sounds like they're using TF: Prime's Unicron is the Earth bit and using that.

Wrong show but... That's just Prime.

I don't think it was much of a spoiler because I don't think it's any sort of conformation of Unicron.

Just look at how dangerous technology has made the world in the past century and how it's fueled the conflicts over resources. Now in the Transformers film world you've leapfrogged technology as every nation scrambles to get their hands on alien technology to give them an edge. If humans harnessed the atom to give them more destructive bombs just imagine what they might do once they got their hands on the weapons of a more advanced race that had been waging war since before humans stopped flinging their own poo?
