Michael Bay Interview with USA Today on filming at the Pyramids page1_blog_entry551-trf-60376c
In an interview with the USA Today and mirrored on his own site, Michael Bay talks about the challenges of filming in Egypt, at the pyramids and the ruins of Petra. Naturally such a once in a lifetime event meant even the crew were awestruck (John Turturro is said to have had a tear in his eye at one point), so Michael Bay had to remind everyone they were there to shoot a movie! nice..good to hear his opinion about the Muslim
Malikon:
that, and I like what he said about Turturro. I knew that guy was allright.
[Wing_Saber-X]:
WOW. Bay seems like he's a cool guy...
Spartan Prime:
Cool story. Nice to hear it had such an effect on Turturro, really shows how down to earth the guy is/can be that he gets emotional about that kind of stuff and doesn't hold himself above it.

I think you'd have to be completely emotionally turned off to not be at least a little bit awed of being in or on those sites, much less being amongst the few that can film ON those sites.

LOL'd at the crew reactions. Methinks there was an extra day spent to allow crew to get their personal shots, after the work was done.
Railguard:
Well that must have been a sight to see, the Pyramids, the ruins, must be unbelievable.
GAUGE0001:
What's extremely interesting though is this little Tidbit of info.

"In the final cut, much of that scene is dominated by CG-animated alien robots, including Devastator — the new villain made out of seven individual robots who hide in the form of construction equipment."

but yet the Supreme Toy is vehicles with "NO" Robot Modes lol
Moy:
Finally, solid proof that Devastator is made of a combination of Robots, and not just mindless vehicles.
