I don't see him killing her off because it's the sort of franchise where only minor characters, extras, or characters that can come back from the dead get killed off. They will leave her alive because she's one of main type characters who are totally safe because they might decide to do yet another film down the road.

Yes. He's notorious for that.
We've pretty much heard from Megan Fox that the story about her character being killed off in TF3 is just a rumor, so... who knows? It's still early in the process of putting together a story for the third movie, things are most likely going to change at some point in time or another.

Yeah, and look how it worked for ROTF. About 90% of the "disinformation" turned out to be genuine leaks, and everything else seemed more like a half-arsed attempt at cover-up.
