Megatron Returns for Transformers 3

Where would Optimus Prime be without his archenemy, Megatron? Fortunately that's not a question we will need to answer just yet, because courtesy of the 2005 Heads on a Stick desk, we have an image of a prop used during the Transformers 3 filming in Chicago featuring the evil Decepticon leader's noggin! Like all the props we have been seeing, this is to assist the actors in acting and reacting to the robots who will be CGI'ed in later during post-production.

Maybe it is not much of a surprise that Megatron is returning for Transformers 3, since he was seen fleeing with Starscream at the end of Revenge of the Fallen. But this sighting confirms that Megatron will also be present in some form during the battle in Chicago alongside the other characters already seen on set in prop form or the form of stunt cars.

If Megatron is going to play any significant role in the movie, i doubt that's his final face, but who knows.

megatron was walking and seen flying away at the end of ROTF with screamer...so unless they do a passing mention of some con capping his ass and taking over...he willl be back.

C'mon, these movies barely have continuity from one scene to the next, let alone one movie to the next.

Still, glad Megs is back and, so far, unchanged. It will be quite cool to finally have Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave all in the same movie (and probably the same place, too!)

If that is final movie design, I always liked Megatron's head from the first movie.

Yay, good to see him back like that. I see no reason to change his form once again.

We've seen bots heal/get repaired from alot of serious damage so I don't see why his face and arm couldn't be fixed.

Here's hoping he gets a new Leader size toy that's way better than the ROTF one!

I think its totally lame how they made his body into some $17 early bird hotel should have stayed as a tank, or better yet a cannon! at least they seen to have gone back to the first movie-head, which is cool.

Since that's his movie one head design, I wouldn't say this head prop is a 100% accurate depicition of his third movie design, but since both look more or less similar...

When every other Megatron in the multiverse stays dead. Besides we CLEARLY saw him and Starscream escape during Prime's fight with the Fallen, so ofcourse he's still around.

I was kinda hoping for a new... and by new I mean old... bucket head look.
Still keeping my fingers crossed for a stealth bomber alt mode, though I doubt any of the 'Cons will end up as Earth-based vehicles.

So... where's Starscream?

Why does this necessarily mean that this is what his head will look like? I think, since it's a prop, that it has relatively little to do with what he'll look like in the end.

Guys they could have easily used the same Cardboard from the first Movie. I don't think that will be his Final Form.

It could always change when they do the actual CGI and this could just be a temporary stand in, but if he is keeping the same form, then I expect an awesome Leader toy.

I kinda want him to stay the same anyway. Don't need him changing forms every movie. Maybe this time he can be a triple changer, with robot, tank, and aircraft.

My guess is this is the same head cutout they have used since the 2007 movie. Who knows what the final head will look like. Soundwave's cutout was a bit different from what we saw in ROTF.

I personally don't think they've reverted back to his TF1 face, I think that's just the head that they're using for stand-in. We need to keep in mind, that all these stand-in heads are only concept art, and are not the final version of what the robot will look like.

This isn't really a surprise either. We all knew Megatron would be coming back.

anyways, i think best face goes to soundwave this year, did you see how crazy scary he looks.

p.s. why cant they do a metroplex,,, did anyone see inception with leo di,,, where in the dream the city comes up and turns on itself, when i saw that movie all i could think is metroplex. chris nolan should direct the next 3 transformers movies , only if bay is diff out.

Hmm, since that is his movie 1 head, and chances are he won't look like that, how can we really be sure Soundwave will be all toothy.

Shockwave they've never had before, so I think he is accurate. Soundwave and Megatron, look forward to seeing them.

I don't think he will be talking with human. Stick boards are only for conversations between TFs and human. All other will be CGI!

Hey, guys? The reason it's Movie 1 Megatron's head design is because it IS Movie 1 Megatron. They didn't update the head design on the prop because it'd be easier to use one that already exists than to make a new one.

I'm at least holding out for him to retain his design from ROTF (slight modifications won't bother me, so long as it's not a completely new body) so I can get me a decent Leader class Flying Tank Megs. Or at that matter, a decent Movie Megatron in general.
