Megatron Back in Sequel with Tank Alternate Mode?

While it'll be cool to see the Fallen on screen and would be so much better than using Unicron for the dreaded villian they all have to team up to defeat, I also think that Megatron should be the Fallen.

I reason this as it's one movie too soon for the big undefeatable menace to show up as we've only seen the Autobots win so far. The bad guys have to be seen as the victors with the good guys about to be destroyed before the overwhelming force makes it's appearence and forces them to work together.

Then there is the title, "Revenge of the Fallen." Rvenge for what? If they have to take time out of the movie story to explain the new bad guy who's worse than the Decepticons, that's really gonna make the story seem forced. They only have two hours and we already know that some of it is gonna be spent on Sam going to college, and the Autobots tracking down some new Decepticons, and a huge battle in China.

Megatron should be the Fallen????? WTF!, these are different characters, Megatron is Megatron and The Fallen is The Fallen, point.

It is interesting to se an alliance between the glorious Decepticons and the no so glorious Autobots, and that its not a new argument.

There is so much speculating around the net it is confusing. I beleive nothing I read and my only movie comment is the title. Which is true due to the website & hasbor confirming it. I think the "Fallen" is not a character but describes fallen "defeated" decepticons. If they "writers" want to re-use names from the first movie "Bonecrusher, Brawl, etc." and want some to return as something new then Return of the Fallen makes sence to me. While I did like the Dreamworks War Within series I don't know how many people would understand a thrid faction. "So there are good guys Autobots and bad guys Decepticons what is a Fallen?" I think the writers new when writing the first movie that there would be sequals so why spend the time developing a character just to do it all over again with a new character for the new movie. That's just my two cents.

The use of "The Fallen" here is a word game, refers to the fallen Decepticons and The Fallen himselft.

Yea but we really didn't have anything original in the first film and it made money so why bother being original if people are going to pay to see recycled stuff. Stuff recycled so hard you couldn't miss it like the Terminator 2 scene with Barricade, Bumblebee and Sam. Sector Seven playing Men in Black only without Will Smith. Peter Jackson's King Kong where Prime was Kong, Sam was the girl, and Megatron was the T-Rex.

Okay that last one was actually really funny if you are Beast Wars fan.

Even live action transforming wasn't totally new because they tried to sell cars by having a jet transform into a car, or the Sci Fi bumper of a large truck transforms into a tiny car alarm remote.

As to having another tank, well in the first movie the tank only shows up to get killed so can we really count a tank in the first movie since he really didn't do anything?

If Megatron or the Fallen could get a secret tank prototype altmode (like this one Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ), that'd be nice!

The Fallen is obviously NOT a character in the movie! Simon Furman and Chris Mowry are LIARS!

No offense, but, we get the point already. I still think "the Fallen" could actually be Megatron. They only said the name the Fallen, which could, for all we know, actually refer to Megatron. If they had mentioned that he was the character from the War Within comic books, then it would be confirmed as to meaning the actual the Fallen character, but as-is, they could still be talking about Megatron, just under the codename the Fallen. That way it's still a bit of a mystery to us.

I just noticed that botht he interview with Furman and Ryall and Furman and CBR and the one with Mowry at MTV have been censored.

Any previously existing references to a character named "The Fallen" or to Arcee have been removed as if they were never there.

Why would they bother to purge the interviews if they were all just part of Bay's misinformation campaign?

yeah im pretty much sold on Megs being the fallen, atleast til "the toy boxes are printed" although they could work Megs into actually being him more literally if starscream comes back after "taking over" the decepticons and megs comes back in the end for some huge battle against them all.....

And who fell the most in the 1st movie? Off a bicycle, off a car hood, fell out of an old camaro, into the dirt while fighting frenzy, trips and falls while carrying the cube and brings a car,video game & pop machine to life, falls off a building while holding onto the cube etc.
Probably the "Fallen" is the "Sam" character and he's going to get some revenge.

I hope the movie is going to be the way it is put up to be, but I have a feeling that some of it is just a cover-up that Bay is doing to keep us Transformers fan on the edge of our seats. And he is, if I might say, doing a very good job of it so far.

Well, that's what part of me thinks, most of me hopes that the movie comes out with "The Fallen" and I hope that Megatron comes back as a tank!

I don't think it would be an issue, if he's coming back as a tank, and not just scanning it. Losing mass because he was highly damaged and lost parts makes more sense than actually being able to shrink.

Except Jetfire was a decepticon at one point, before switching sides. It would make sense if he was big and dark, switched sides, and became lighter colored and less scary. Also, it would mean they could make us have to buy TWO Jetfires! And they would probably only use one mold...

+10 points for you. Too many people seem to think that if it means the fallen decepticons, "The Fallen" can't possibly be in it.

If Bumblebee can be a prototype, why not some of the bad guys?
And that thing is huge, I wonder what the mass of it IS compared to Megs?

I guess in certain circumstances make strange bed fellows, but I guess after Megatron helps the Autobots he and Optimus would go back fighting each other as always. But I guess we would have to wait and see when the movie comes out and thats going to be sweet.

Sorry it took a while to get back with a reply but my internet connection is crappy so I've spent a lot time getting the Too Human demo to load onto my 360

It's the scene right after Barricade has confronted Sam about the cube and Sam is making a break for it. And the sceen where John Conner slips out while the cop is asking the other kids if they know him.

Both films have evil robot in the form of the police (Barricade and T-1000).

Both fims have the evil cop chasing the kid on foot in a parking garage (Sam and John Conner).

Kid is saved by good robot (Bumblebee and T-800) that kid doesn't know is the robot who's there to protect him.

Ha ha, we even have muscle car Bumblebee and muscle man Schwarzenegger so you have to wonder if the scene wasn't set up as some sort of nod. Really haven't watched the commentary to find out if it's a nod or just happened to be so much alike on accident.

Ah, OK. I thought it was something more "in your face" like Jurassic Park's nod in Toy Story 2. No wonder I missed it.

Well another thing to keep in mind with Megs being a tank, and potentially the fallen (non-megs) being in the movie. Though then again even the name use is still a nod. It is the 25th annie when this movie hits. So between jetfire and the fallen, maybe all these goodies are because of that for now. It would make sense.

Orci specifically cited E.T., Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Close Encounters and Terminator 2 as inspirations for the first movie.

I'm guessing they didn't want it too in your face so that it comes across as a tip of the hat to the other films and not like something they borrowed.

Its the fallen I think doesn't sound too far fetched
