Megatron Back in Sequel with Tank Alternate Mode?

Sweet! I don't mind Megs as a tank! I really can't wait to see pixs of the new Megs when they dp finally show up!

I hope Megatron won't be a tank since Brawl was one already. Give him something like a artillary unit like a Howitzer which can give him a huge arm cannon in the bot mode.

The "Revenge of the Fallen" has got to refer to the allspark infused Megatron. It seems to me that there is no way that this "Fallen" character could possibly be in the film and no way Megatron could be a lame tank AGAIN. This bit of news is just more lies.

Any chance that his tank mode can be his WWI Tank mode? That's my favorite Megs. Big freakin tank that doesn't need to be a "real world" vehicle, but a scary cybertronian tank.

There's no mass shifting in Bay's universe. And Orci said Megatron transforming into a gun is like Darth Vader transforming into his own lightsaber. So there isn't going to be a gun mode.

Add to that fact that Bay didn't like the Allspark doing it, so it's safe to say Megatron isn't going to go with that route.

Cautious optimism here. I've liked most of Megatron's tank modes.

Basically, the movie writers said that they DON'T want Megatron to be gun because it's lame, and to be honest, it is lame, only blind G1 fans could think that a little gun is a fitting altmode for the Decepticon Leader.

Transforming into a gun is not an option, it never will be. The writers will never allow it, Bay would never allow it, the producers would never allow it, and so forth and so on.

The All Spark is a Magical McGuffin, like the Matrix or a Cyber Key or Vector Sigma. Its Magic, so audiences accept magical, implausible things happening with a Magical McGuffin more easily than they would with a character.

Okay guys, let's throw some common sense here (granted with Bay common sense is used loosely).

1. The movie is called revenge of the fallen, sorry but from what we know the only fallen is Megatron. It makes more since for this to be about the revenge of Megatron just based off the name. Granted it would be cool to see the Fallen but my bet is on Megatron returning (probably beefed up by the All Spark).

2. As for tank mode, it would be cool but I'll believe it when I see the spec sheet released like last time.

The problem is when you think of the aliens THEMSELVES as Magical McGuffins with all their alien powers and abilities.

I have to agree with these 2 points above.......I am intrigued by The Fallen being in this movie too but I could more easily see Megatron being the "Fallen" character that the title is talking about!!!

I am still with the train of thought that the Fallen is one badass TF that both factions have to team up to vanquish. And of course true to his nature, Megatron ends up crossing the Autobots in the end, possibly taking one or two 'Bots out with him.


Thats just my take anywho and hey, its plausible.

He's also the most powerful and best chance of beating something they can't. Perhapes the rewards outweigh the risks.

It would make sense if they brought Megs back to make him a tank. Autobots prefer ground vehicles, and taking away Megatron's one big advantage against them would work towards keeping him under thier control.

But if he gets a new alternate form when the Autobots rebuild him, he's most likely going to be like a zombie or drone for the most part. He'll probably look more GeeWunny, aswell. And like someone mentioned, he could have a arm-cannon.

I like the idea Megs gets a Tank mode ,but his size is the problem and Bay said during filming of the first movie NO MASS SHIFTING !!

It wouldnt be the first time for TF (certainly in the comics/cartoon). Also the comic prequel alluded to the fact that Prime and Megatron once ruled cybertron as allies. Cant lay my hands on my prequels at the moment as I have just moved house - can anyone reference the exact wording of the text - I think it went something along the lines of "One Just and One Firm"

It won't end like this, but I'd love to see Megs turn around and off Prime after they beat the Fallen.

And who wants to guess Starscream will fall in with The Fallen, for that matter?

Megatron as a tank makes the most sense with G2 Megatron, Armada Megatron, etc.

Even if Brawl/Devastator was a Tank they can make Megatron a Bigger Badder Tank! A Tank Makes More Sense for Megatron unless it's that killer hellicopter in Animated!

I highly doubt there will even be a Fallen character. First of all this movie would be called something like Enter the Fallen if it was the Fallen character. He has never been introduced in the movies so he can't be back for revenge. The fact that Megatron had the Allspark shoved in his chest to me atleast, means that he will be returning either as a super Megatron or a Galvatron do to the power of the allspark to seek revenge on the Autobots. Remember also that Starscream headed into space, most likely back to Cybertron. I would imagine that he will be returning with more decepticons in an effort destroy the Autobots himself. This could lead to Autobots vs. Starscream and company in the first part of the movie with Megatron/Galvatron making his return midway through the movie forcing the Autobots and Starscream to join together against a more powerful Megs. Just my thoughts

It doesn't mean that The Fallen couldn't have returned and wants to wipe out both Autobots AND Decepticons.

How come everyone doubts that The Fallen could be an actual character? Hasbro DID trademark it.

I at first didn't think that the title was referencing him, and didn't think he'd work in the movie universe. But the more I think about it, and the more sources we get telling us that he is in the movie, the more i think he'd work well in the movies. Either way this movie seems to be going in a good direction, from what little we actually know about it.

I dont like this idea and i dont think i believe it to begin with...............If Megatron must return, he needs a way more imposing alternate mode. He should either stay as a cybertronian jet to set himself apart from the other Transformers, or (if he NEEDS to take an earthly form) he should be the SR71 Blackbird that we've seen.

All of you who claim the Fallen will not be in the movie - do you seriously think IDW (specifically Simon Furman and Chris Mowry) are talking out of their asses when they say they have read the script and The Fallen is a character in it? Or how do you explain those two interviews?

While you have a good point there, for all we know they're a part of Bay's whole misinformation campaign. Then again, they most likely aren't. Either way it's still pretty much all just speculation until we get something completely concrete, like seeing the actual movie when it's released.

THIS MOVIE'S GONNA RULE!

WTF?? This whole movie is starting to sound like garbage....If it is infact the autobots teaming up with megatron and the decepticons to defeat a greater threat. How many times is Hollywood gonna beat this dead horse? This story element has been done so many times(i.e. X-men 2 where Magneto and the brotherhood team up with the x-men, fantastic 4: rise of the silver surfer..there's more they just haven't come to me yet) it's getting kinda old..seriously having an IDW character that was created for ONE mini series as one of the antagonist in this movie is a bad idea.

At first I believed that "the fallen" was referring to Megatron, and the rest of the decepticons that had died. Thinking they were going to come back for revenge...or that since Starscream had been defeated in battle that it was just him returning with more decepticons to claim victory. Now they're bringing in a character with little to no background in the transformers mythos? At least maybe with him appearing in this movie we can look forward to Unicron in the 3rd movie...if they're even going to be as thorough as to connect him to unicron and primus. I swear, the more and more I watch the first movie...the more it disappoints me as a fan. The last battle is my least favorite part of the whole movie and Prime getting beaten like a bitch by Megatron and Megatron being defeated by Shia Laduesch is a complete bullshit ending. I hope this movie does things a little bit better this time around. Especially with getting the autobots voices right....bumblebee and Ironhide sounded like shit last movie....Bumblebees voice was too british, and definately not young enough. While Ironhides voice was retarded and not even close to cowboyish. Don't even get me started on the delinquent ghetto voice that was Jazz. (Whats up bitches?!) R u effin' kidding me....really Bay?? Really??

I was wondering if the Blackbird might be the fallen, it;s big, menacing and of course black as night plus we know the Autobots and human heroes are acting like headless chickens around it in the museum. Not to mention that a big evil looking military plane doesn't really suit Jetfire as it is supposedly called on those call sheets. Heck Jetfire could just be a clever code name, i.e. Jetfire could be shorthand for Jet on fire i.e. the fallen.

I hope it is, I already thought it had potential to be the best toy next year but if it's an obscure comic character and it happens to be on fire then it's in with a shot of being the best toy ever.
